@Populuxe the '73 911 still has the Safari kit. I thought at first they would bring in new parts, but it's a different car.
I was thinking it was a full bodykit, not individual pieces in the aero menu. That makes two days in a row of derpery from me in this thread.

Edit: the update is 2.57 gb on my Series S.

Welcome back everyone after the GTP server maintenance.

I, er, might not have actually drifted all or any of the cars around Shimanoyama to claim this prize.

Anyway, update car review time!

2025 McLaren W1: R 918 Hypercars. It not being in S2 makes it unusable for anything outside of Gold Wristband and the many unrestricted Street Races if you still haven't unlocked Custom Events everywhere yet, but it does add a new competitor to R-class Hypercars--a class it shares with the Zenvo and Valhalla Concept Car. Guessing this is why they chose the W1 over the production Valhalla--four is a nice even number, and I doubt PG would want to pollute that small grid with a copy of the same car.

2023 Dodge Demon 170: A 683 Modern Muscle. I'm not going to include the Super Stock for reference's sake, but it is DEFINITELY meant for Drag Meets and drag races when stock because it comes with Drag Tires by default. First thing I suspect folks are going to do is remove them and replace them with slicks--the Drag Tires nerf in Series 2 probably made this thing less remarkable by association. Gonna be interesting to see what its PI is when you take 'em off and put Sport Tires on.

1998 Renault Sport Spider: B 508 Retro Sports Cars. Absolutely on the lowest end of the scale in its own car class. More of a novelty than anything I suppose, but I know people are excited for it here.

1788809776620.webp

1987 Porsche 911 (930) "Luftauto": B 561 Rally Monsters. As loath as I am to point out that it's another rally 911 when we already have the Daka--sorry, the 992 911 Rallye, it's not a bad pick. It also acts as a rival to the Opel Manta, so hey, an expansion to B-class Rally Monsters is always nice!

1788809878899.webp

1990 Jaguar XJ-S: C 491 Cult Cars. This car actually got buffed as a result of the PI adjustments between games, now being at the top of C-class. Kinda wish they'd moved it to Retro Saloons but what can you do. It basically resides in a class of its own this way.

1788810163881.webp

2025 Bentley Continental Speed: A 699 Super GT. While not a huge improvement PI wise over its predecessor back in FH5, it now sits atop A-class Super GT by virtue of it being AWD. Absolutely worth the Headline Car status, even if the darn thing blindsided us.
1788810447173.webp

2015 Jaguar XKR-S GT: A 671 Track Toys. Not much change here, not much else needed to be said. It's a track-ready XKR, with only a small PI nerf relative to its original PI in FH4 and 5.

1788810645653.webp

2006 Vauxhall Astra VXR: B 512 Super Hot Hatch. Surprisingly, by PI standards, this is considered a BUFF--it's never touched B-class once in any Motorsport games, and only sniffed C-class in FM4, which was its previous height. It's still the low point of Super Hot Hatch--consider upgrading in order to be competitive anywhere in the class.
1788810864123.webp

2002 Lotus Esprit V8: A 619 Retro Supercars. Now hovering at the lower end of A-class Retro Supercars, the Esprit at least gets to hang out with the Countachs and Testarossas of the world. This is probably its biggest nerf in a while, where before it was low-mid, now it's the second-worst car in its class PI-wise, only beaten out in that department by the Wheelspin-exclusive 512 TR by three points.

1788811127695.webp

2019 Ginetta G40 Junior: B 560 Track Toys. Interesting choice considering in FM2023 it's at the top of E-class. Not much to say other than neat addition, fitting in rather nicely with its other spec racing buddy, the MX-5 Cup.

I hope the Spider comes with the wind deflector option.

Btw, it's quite strange that we're missing every Clio except for the first generation Williams. I guess the reason could be that later generations weren't sold as "Clio" but "Lutecia" (which is the old Roman/Latin name for Paris) in Japan.

Here's a 4th gen example with the respective lettering on the hatch.

I also want to note something interesting. While I was looking for the Playlist cars, I saw that Ginetta and Vauxhall... aren't represented by the G40 and Astra on the manufacturer restriction screen. The Ginetta prototype from FH5 and the Vauxhall Monaro VXR we all know and love are their representatives. Possibly future returning cars in other Playlists?

Check Forza Horizon 4 or 5, those might be the blueprint image templates from one of those games.

I can't help be a little bit let down with the Playlist History feature.

I think the idea of having long-term rewards for accruing playlist points over time is neat, but I was hoping for it to be much more fleshed out.

Having something new to unlock every 100 points (for example) would be a good incentive to engage with the playlist, especially if they looped old Playlist cars, or expensive Autoshow cars, Wheelspin cars, exclusive Badges/Clothing in to the mix.

Instead we have 1 (now 2, I guess) car(s) available at seemingly random point intervals. And no mention/hint of this system including older playlist cars as rewards, which given the features name, I thought would be a shoe-in.

Ah well. Will be interesting to see what this 1100 Point reward car is.

Anti AI folks are fighting a losing battle, this is the future and will only get better
The thing is DLSS5 is the future,
I'm just chiming in here quickly b/c I've been out of town for a few days.

The thing people like you don't seem to understand is that video games have art direction for a reason. The constant thing DLSS has done every time they showcase it is warp a game's art style in the name of "realism". You claim it's the future, yet the gaming community has been very vocal they do not want it b/c it is making games look worse all in the name of "realism", ie: blow out the contrast & sharpening.

There is a reason it turned into a meme as soon as they used Resident Evil Requiem to show it off. People don't like it. Now, if future video games want to develop their games around it, great. But, it should be not used as a glorified filter to make existing games look "better". You're free to respond, this is only my 2 cents & not a discussion for me.

The Cosmo Sport fit in well with Mascot Party--which makes sense, it's the Series it basically teased. It's possible this next one will tease another Series, we'll have to see.

The thing people like you don't seem to understand is that this can enhance the artists vision as well. The original showing wasn't great for sure, but since then they've refined it and you can make it stay way truer to the original art if so desired, that's the beauty of PC and modding in general, you have sliders to make the game look how you want. Even devs are enjoying it too.

See a famous game dev below, it's enhancing his vision without the limitations of his engine

Also many in general DO like it, theres a thread with over 4000 replies in a week on Neogaf of people obsessing over it and sharing their screenshots and settings

The AI-phobes will say the top one is superior, but they only fool themselves...

this can enhance the artists vision as well.
If they choose to.
Kumazawa noted that the public outrage proved players genuinely preferred Grace's original, intended design over the AI modification.

None of what you posted changed my point. It blows out the contrast & sharpness in the attempts to make things look real. Your thread proves @TheAdmiester 's point:
Half the framerate and probably double the power consumption just to ruin the lighting and increase the contrast a touch, I'll pass.
Performance impact is ~90 → 50 fps on an RTX 5090 at 4K and 70 → 35 fps on a 5070 Ti at 4K.

You're slicing performance in half for marginal, unnecessary gains.

Using "AI-phobes" is exactly why I won't have a discussion about it; the maturity level isn't there, as evident by your former post attempting to use political association as an insult. I rarely ignore people, but you make a compelling case.

"marginal gains" bruh look at the picture above your post lol, and sure put me on your ignore and enjoy your safe space bro, seems a common tactic around here. Basically join the hive mind or be put on ignore, odd mentality but you do you

This is the future, AMD have been working on neural rendering since 2024 as well, it'll come to consoles and it'll be the next great jump in graphics, because we know diminishing returns have been a thing for quite a while now, generation leaps haven't been there, this solves it.

Car pass cars are a mix for me. Love the W1 and the Renault Spider. Especially the Spider. That's super cool. Like subzero. The Porsche is somewhat interesting but another Challenger is a waste of a car pass slot IMHO.

Good to see a new Bentley but I'm in two minds about getting back into the playlist for another month just for it. The whole FOMO thing of missing out on an exclusive car and not being able to acquire it ever again is having a less effect on me. I'm playing other stuff and at my own pace which I find really relaxing. I'm liking that the Jag drift car is unlocked through in game activities as opposed to being on a playlist. That's how things should be. Or used to be rather.

Unhinged prediction for next update: Cars that have seven or eleven on them

160pt: Saleen S7
80pt: 2023 BMW 740i or i7 (G70) (New To Horizon, Modern Super Saloons)

20pt: 1991 Nissan Sentra SE(Seven Eleven)-R (New To Horizon, Retro Super Saloons)
20pt: 1979 Triumph TR7 (Returns from FH4, also a reference to the FH4/FH5 Super 7 challenges, Classic Sports Cars)
20pt: 2015 Jaguar Project 7 or 2016 Lotus 3-Eleven (Track Toys)
20pt: 1991 #62 Mazda RX-7 IMSA GTO (New To Horizon, Retro Racers)

This is my worst prediction yet

Oh man you might actually be onto something there. They would do something like that, wouldn't they?

I'm more inclined to believe this is their 'oddball' update. Kinda like what they did for Donut Media and Cars and Coffee back in FH5, just all kinds of odds and ends to get players interested in what comes next every week. But that would make predictions incredibly hard to figure out--you'd have to leap into the head of Torben and try to figure out what they're thinking.
