Just got this beauty and i'm in love!

Looks to be inspired by the 190E DTM race car.

Bet he’s gotten some hatemail DMs from people who think Drivatars are real players.

Also Drivatar system should pull all 11 cars from my friends list. I only see 1 or 2 per race, same as pre games.
I didn't notice because I have no friends. 😭

With all those memes dedicated to him, Mr. knife99 seems to be a bit of a star man. Maybe he's not on the side of the heroes but I suspect the community may soon be putting Terrebonne and his dev team under pressure to make some ch-ch-ch-changes to the AI difficulty.

Meanwhile in non-pun news, I seem to have 42 points out of 45 with 4/7 daily challenges completed, despite only two showing as having popped in the playlist. Could it be that you can complete challenges before they trigger in this game? If so and it's a bug, I hope they never fix it.

Been playing since early access, First days the game played buttery smooth. Now it's a bit choppy and the environment doesnt seem to look as nice, Trees ETC. I looked into it and loads of people are complaining about it. A common half fix was to disable ReBAR so I did that with Nvidia Profile Inspector and I guess its a bit better but still not as good as the first few days. 9800X3D/5070Ti

Still, The game is great and I can still enjoy it for the most part. :)👍

Really enjoying spec racing, feel as if my skills actually matter and I'm getting great results.

I also noticed in custom race you can select to turn of collisions! I'll be trying that next, doesn't seem like you can do spec racing in custom though.

Well, I had a nightmare scenario.
Went to start the game on my PC and it was crashing the instant it loaded the ("press a to start/ x for accessibility" opening screen.

Tried lots of fixes found online.

The one below was the one that worked for me !

Conspiracy time….do you guys think Mexico was chosen for FH5 to give the developers more time to get Japan just right? 2-3 years doesn't seem like enough time for how detailed the Japan map is.

After getting my gold wristband, I have a couple minor gripes, but only one that I feel like sharing: Legend Island wasn't the spectacular unique biome I was hoping for or expecting. I was assuming there were going to be some spectacular geographic features or architectural landmarks somewhere in there, but it looked instead like a compilation of all the general forested festival areas from the previous three games. Though I guess if the circuit is the main attraction, they nailed it, and I'm looking forward to doing a lot more laps around it in cars less nerve-wracking than R class.

Meanwhile, I'm starting to get to the phase of the game where I just do my own thing, setting up custom races and planning new routes, and I have a hunch the sandbox element is going to keep me really busy for a while. Turns out that winning every race does not actually "beat" the game for me, not by a long shot.

I feel like I'm missing faster ways to get the Gold Wristband. Right now, I won all the other normal races and currently working through the PR Stunts and doing Rivals. Still have 4k HP to get.

I wonder why they didnt include Lowriders and a much better map. The potential was definitely there and how havent we got Germany yet? I am betting on Forza Horizon 7 being set in Germany.

I put it entirely down to the change in personnel and direction at the top. Plus FH5 was hampered in its development by covid, don't forget. We don't know how much they were held back by that.

They were held back by Mike Brown and I feel like that game would have been completely different without him.

Right.... So these cars all exist in real life, and compete against each other right?? Do they have handicaps involved in scoring or are there multiple classes??

Likely multiple classes, I can't speak for every Time Attack series globally but I've been to a fair few at Snetterton in the UK for the UK Time Attack Championship and there would typically be 4-5 classes. Sometimes all lapping at the same time.

Sigh... some people may think Mexico was just a "stopgap"... It was a COMPLETE game that is now the most played Forza game ever, and where many of the systems that made Japan possible were introduced and refined.

By the way @Michael S YT, lowriders are a SoCal thing, not really a Mexican thing.

Well remember FH5 had an additional 1.5 years of support which I think that extra time allowed them to work on the Japan based game. FH6. So, yes and no to answer your question

Itinerary for BMM tomorrow.
Sung Kang is on the main stage from midday and doing a meet and greet afterwards.

I shall be doing a meet and greet with all my masses of fans immediately after that... ;)

They are part of Mexican American culture. Might have to do with the fact that California used to be part of Mexico and there is Mexican heritage in California. So they are all related.

Remember the Ford playlist that only had Renaults and MG’s as prize cars? He did that. After he left or was canned the game because a more alive.

I seem to recall them saying around FH3’s launch that they’d came up with a ton of locations they’d want to tackle well before FH1 even started development, so even if it doesn’t make it for one game, it’s still on the list for a future title when the tech/ideas allow for it.

I’m certain they probably wanted to do Japan for 5, but didn’t feel like they could do it justice due to MS wanting it to run on the Xbox One as well, so they instead opted for another of their potential candidates that they could recreate well and have it run smoothly across both platforms.

I wouldn’t say they chose it as a stopgap as a few of the other replies are suggesting, it was more so just the best candidate given their situation.

I do it was strange. I feel like without him the map would be lovely and we would have things like lowriders. The potential was definitely there.

Are you trying to explain Mexican heritage and history to a Mexican? Anyways, the game is not set in California (or anything resembling Tijuana or El Paso).

I did my research and they are a thing in Mexico. Like I said it started as a Mexican American thing so there is a relation.

In your opinion what made it better?

I still prefer Forza Horizon 5 over Horizon 6, and honestly it comes down to the overall vibe more than any single feature.
My biggest issue with Horizon 6 is that it never really captures the feeling of Japan outside of the map itself. The world is visually beautiful, and you can obviously tell it's Japan, but everything around it feels strangely generic. The menus, race win screens, banners, flags, festival presentation - none of it really transports you there. Horizon 5 did a much better job with Mexico because the entire game felt culturally connected to its setting.
The music also isn't as strong this time around. Horizon 5 had a soundtrack that really matched the atmosphere and made cruising around memorable. Horizon 6 just doesn't hit the same way for me.

I do like the Rush events, but there simply aren't enough of them. They're one of the few parts of the game that really feel special.
As for the map itself, I actually think bigger hurt the game a bit. Tokyo is easily the best city Playground has ever made, no question.
But outside of Tokyo, the map feels less diverse than Horizon 5's Mexico. A lot of the world blends together, and the scale sometimes makes it feel emptier instead of more immersive.
The story content is another downgrade for me. In Horizon 5, the stories and missions had a really distinct Mexican identity and personality. In Horizon 6, most of the missions feel way more generic, and that's honestly a shame because Japan as a setting had so much potential.

Overall, Horizon 6 is still a good game, but Horizon 5 just had a stronger identity and better atmosphere. It felt more cohesive, more memorable, and honestly just had better vibes.
