Ah yes...like the old times! Prepare for levels of nitpicking they should be illegal.

I was planning to post the following on the general discussion, but...it was getting too long. So I thought, why not bring back this thread for FH6?

Now, first things first. I'm really happy with Horizon 6, is a really strong title, and of course, the rescanned M3 E30, Skylines R32, R33, R34, as well as the Silvia S13 and S15 or the Lancer EVO VI, just to name a few, mean a lot, since the curse of the inaccurate models is finally being killed...even though some still remain sadly.

In fact, a really late surprise was the AE86. It might still need a new rescan but...at least they fixed the front bumper after 12 years! Weirdly, the pre-release footage, including videos and trailers got the bumper still wrong, and in fact, as of today, the thumbnail is also wrong...but the bumper is fixed. The panda look, finally complete.

So...some things cannot be changed. More than 15 inaccurate models still remain (including the S14 Silvia duo...weird they missed those but did the S13 and S15) and will remain like that since we know a new model cannot be replaced once the game is launched, would break many things in-game. So let's focus on things that hopefully CAN be fixed. And...why not start with something even worse than the AE86 bumper? Yes, worse. The AE86 got the issue back in Horizon 2, but was fine before that...one car has always been wrong since Horizon 2. Since it was introduced. The Focus RS? Yes...but that belongs in the re-scan category. Nothing can be done for Horizon 6. I mean...the Clio Williams.

Since the AE86 front bumper has been finally fixed after 12 years (shame they forgot about fixing/updating the thumbnail and/or the pre-release footage...) I can move on to another historical inaccuracy...the Clio Williams rear.

So...a bit of background first.

The Clio 1 had 3 phases. 1st one ran from 1990 to 1994, 2nd from 1994 to 1996, and finally, 3rd from 1996 to 1998, when it was replaced with the Clio 2.

Main changes? Phase 2 got updated tailights, with the inner part more rounded, the part between the lights went from normal plain plastic to a plastic that 'emulated' tailight look, like a baby heckblende. Also, the 'Renault' and 'Clio' badges moved from that part to just above it, in the hatch body. Finally, Phase 3 got updated front, with way rounder headlights, among other changes.

And this is where it gets tricky. The Clio Williams also had 3 phases but they DIDN'T matched the same as the regular car...well, they did for the first 2 ones, but Phase 3 on the Williams was essentially Phase 2 with some minor changes, it never got the rounder front.

So...hopefully it's clear until now.

Here are the 2 kind of rears you can find in the Williams, here is Phase 1, with the older tailights, and the plain plastic with badges on it:

Phase 2 and 3 were like this, you can clearly see the red part is now rounder on the corners, and the bar between the lights has the look I described before, with the badges moving above it.

Hopefully it was easy...so, since the one in the game is a 1993 car, it should look like the 1st pic hands down, an early unit. Let's check the actual car referenced to create the Forza version, this 1994 Clio Williams with plate 'L97 JUD'. It all fits, the lights, the plastic bar in between, the badges...

Now let's check the Forza car. What happened here?

So...Phase 1 lights, Phase 1 plastic bar...yet the badges are Phase 2. And of course...the lights. The main shape is correct, but they look awful. They always did sadly...

I mean, I get they only got pics AFAIK, not an actual scan but...let's begin.
  1. The black borders (including the one that divides the lower and upper areas) are way too thick.
  2. The red part lacks its obvious partitions (in the real unit you can clearly see 3)
  3. The bottom part...it's tricky. I'll say that. In that pic they look similar, but if you look at the Clio Williams pic you'll see they are not. They are smoked, and depending on the light, and how the light itself aged, can look different. Bottom line, they have always been too light in Forza.
  4. They lack all fine detail, including texts and marks embedded on the lenses.
Taking all of this into account...I'll be happy if at least they dial down the lightness on the lower bottom part, a more smoked look. Let's not forget they used to look even WORSE, as in Horizon 3...

1000

...yep. They got 'fixed' back to FH2 standards, but they never got them right in the first place.

It's just weird they referenced a real unit so heavily, with thousands of pics, yet the lights look so dull. But hey, again could be worse!

Anyway, I know I got too much into it, but hey, where else I can share this? I mean...options are getting scarce anyway.

So, whatever you find, no matter how big or small is, you can list it here. Hopefully some things will be fixed, who knows. If not...hey, we got them listed at least, I guess.

EDIT: I ended up finding more things wrong detail-wise, so I ended up creating a thread on atlassian suggestions with all my findings:

In fact...a really fair complain I have is the traffic. Is so annoying it deserves to be called bugged.

So far, up to Horizon 5, traffic was, well...traffic. Meant to be annoying by standing in your way. How dare to live in their country right?

But anyway, biggest issue was...lane changing maybe. Back in the long highway in FH5 that was mainly all you had to be careful about. But here...something weird happened.

Traffic drive like absolute maniacs. They go too fast, they launch into you kamikaze-style, they run through intersections, they crash so much they even do between each other, they turn into streets weirdly, as if they run on rails...and don't get me started on highways.

I was finishing a long run to get some XP. And seconds before I planned to stop...it happened. Two traffic cars collided in such a way one was sent flying into me. Literally, Michael Bay style.

Sadly, I couldn't get the footage, but got this pic from earlier anyway:

That entire pile-up on its entirety, including the Stagea-Wrangler war for the lane, happened on its own. And it's not the first time something like that happens...

I hope eventually they get traffic patched, right now it's a bit of a hot mess, again, something really went wrong with their AI...

There's a spot in Daikoku where the traffic gets stuck trying to enter an intersection, rotates on the spot, and often eventually launches itself backwards into the lineup of stuck traffic behind it. The one time I watched a traffic car finally break into the intersection, it never steered, just went full throttle forward until it hit another traffic car, bounced off, waited a moment, then went full throttle again. Repeat until despawn.

I was also driving behind one on the highway when it suddenly pulled off a frontflip. It was pretty impressive! Don't think that's what they're meant to do though.

They've definitely done something to the traffic. They rotate rather than steer. If you watch them turn around intersections, you'll see them mostly sliding around, pivoting on their center. It might have been a compromise to their physics to allow for more to spawn. As someone who likes to drive around with the traffic though, it's a bit of a letdown that their behavior is so strange. My Wuling Sunshine only gets damaged by traffic deciding to floor it into the back of me, or ignoring stop signs at intersections. Insurance is starting to hate me, but it's not my fault, I swear!

Exactly my thoughts. They need to finetune their behaviour, right now is plain unsufferable. Last day after yet another XP farming session ruined, I spent 10 solid minutes pushing them off a bridge. Worth it.

I play with a wheel and have a xbox controller plugged in and went to buy that first estate you get offered trying clear the drive was impossible on the wheel and using the controller worked for moving about but to delete the objects only the wheel button worked ?

Several gripes I’ve encountered:

- Traffic weirdness as mentioned above, though I’ve also seen cars fall through the underground tunnels a few times in Tokyo.

- Sound will occasionally cut out, usually the engine, but sometimes music or speech. In a few instances, all three at once.

- Did not receive the Be-1 after completing the delivery job (has been mentioned by other users, so presumably this’ll be addressed sooner rather than later).

- Have completed the Photography section of the journal and received its award, but have not had it checked off in the Master Explorer section. I’m hoping this is down to them wanting it to be done organically rather than cheesing it with EventLab creations (much like with the seasons changing in online events but not counting towards Discovery), which is what I did for the sky lanterns photo, so I’ll give it a try again when the correct season rolls around and see if that fixes it. If it doesn’t then I’m effectively locked out of ever completing that.

- Horizon Drift has a very annoying bug/exploit where a level 1 player will join a championship that’s already underway, and at the start of the next event, it immediately says it ends in 30 seconds, and despite them earning no points, they’re at the top of the scoreboard and take the win. This has happened about five times out of about thirty, so I’d say it’s more than just a random occurrence.

- Speed penalties for hitting a wall in online races are still massively confusing

- Several photos taken for Horizon Promo and the Photography section only show up as white squares, and no longer load in the actual picture.

You're not meant to get it yet. That's next week's reward. The real bug is the challenge being marked as completed before that week's Playlist has started.

Ahh, noted. Also forgot to mention the daily challenges, which are still liked but meeting the criteria still marks them as done, and still allowed me to get the achievement for doing everything in a weekly playlist. I’m assuming that’ll get fixed sharpish.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought traffic has gotten way dumber than in FH5.

Some little bugs/inaccuracies I've noticed:

-The Montero Exceed's tachometer is non-functional.
-The '68 Barracuda's tachometer works as a speedometer instead of what's intended.
-The Can-Am ATV's suspension is glitched to where the springs don't move with the rest of it.
-The E63 S sounds more like the flat-plane GT Black Series than the cross-plane sound it should have. This may be just a me problem though.

I'm sure these have all been posted on Jira, but I struggle to get it to actually let me see/do anything on it for some reason.

At least the traffic brake at junctions now. I've also seen them stop on the highway when I pull out in front of them. That at least seems like an improvement as I didn't see them do this in FH5.

I just did Wednesday's daily challenge so it looks like the start and expiry times for the challenges are messed up. Now all I need is an AZ-1 and I can nail this week's list. If only we could start next week's Trial now as well and get a head start on the Bowie knife99 imitators and disciples.
