I really can not wait for this game! Only thing BAD about it, is 8 cars races.. Huge bummer, especially with the Aussie cars!

I gotta agree. Only 8 cars really hurts this game as a racer but as a kinda sand box test drive customization game it should be awesome.

Hmm A PS3 Version of FM3??? or a little booboo!

The small blocks how much power they get?

But yeah 8 cars only, but it does many things GT does not.. Like better sound, customization, out of box support for online, in GT we wait ages for everything to be done. Sure GT has the quality once they finish something, but the wait is killing me.. FM3 will be so damn fun till GT5 comes out and beyond!

Does driving a car on a PSP really qualify? I don't think there's going to be a ton of feel to that, because the controls just aren't good enough for that.

True enough. Can't you, if I'm not mistaken, play PSP games on the PS3?

I mean as in actually using the PS3 to display the game, or at least source it through your tele? Forgive me but I haven't kept up with a handheld since the original Gameboy, so I know little to nothing about what the PSP can and can't do.

Just realized I asked this in the worse possible place so to even things out - Hm.... Ah. The Veyron was laser scanned with the spoiler deployed and detracted - why? I mean if FM3 doesn't use active aero (I still don't understand why either) why scan it both ways? Are they intending to "sell" it in-game as two different versions?

You can't play PSP games on the PS3 as far as I know, though some of the downloadable games are available for both. You can also remotely play some games, though my experience with that has been horrible as there's a ton of latency between your input and the PS3 receiving the input.

And the two version of the Veyron - maybe they'll model it with the spoiler retracted for the stationary photomode? I'm not familiar enough with the Veyron, but doesn't the spoiler just change when the car is started (from retracted to extended) and again if put into the top speed mode?

Which then begs the question, will it really just hit 220-230mph in game?

The only thing I'm sad about is that I won't be able to use my G25 with FM3... It still bothers me that no crazy modders out there made an adapter for it (even if it doesn't support h-gate shifter and clutch and even ffb) but just make it work somehow with the silly XID thing. I could buy a used 360 official wheel but it's such a downgrade and then changing that on the playseat everytime i want to play would be a pain in the ass and the fanatec wheel is too bulky for my taste and i prefer to have the seperate shifter ahhhh *headsplode*

Gamepad only for me :(

Gamepad only for me too:(, but majority of my time with with FM3 will be spent on the drag strip, so I'm not too bothered.:dopey: Really though, when I want to customize cars and do burnouts, I'll play Forza, but when I want to have the feeling of actually driving a car, I'll play GT5. *Note, I'm not bashing Forza's physics, it just that I have always felt more connected with GT.

Good points... And I have no idea. It seems like most games don't have the retractable spoilers activate, save for PGR which had it in PGR2 as I recall. It would seem logical to have the Veyron automatically default to "Sport Mode" in all of the racing events (all the vents, spoilers deployed), but not into "Speed Mode" that makes it as slippery as possible. So, in the game, it should (in theory) be able to hit 220 MPH, but not the full 253 MPH.

Which is what I reckon could possibly disturb the experience. It'd be just the same as what I've been complaining about since the first Forza but it would actually be worse this time around as it's very much incapable of hitting it's top speed without being stopped and using the key (I still love that idea by the way). Going further, I wonder if the fuel and tires will last as long as their real life counterpart?

EDIT: That GT is drool-worthy, but what's going on with the rear lamps? They still look, I don't know, one-dimensional.

The build used for that video was 2 months old, they have supposedly improved the head/taillights a bit, but it's not their strongest point, there is a more un-natural over saturated look to most of these vids etc, not totally photo-realistic, but very pleasing none the less.

Oh, it was Badned over on ForzaCentral that mentioned the build being 2 months old IIRC..

The spoiler goes down but not completley flush when you're in top speed mode. It still affects the aerodynamics but it keeps the cars arse on the road at 252mph. In sport mode the spoiler lifts up and down depnding on speed and tilts forwards to act as an air brake when you hit the brakes hard at speed too. It's a fairly active spoiler. Even in top speed mode it only stays in place as long as you don't hit the brakes hard, as soon as you brake hard the car exits top speed mode and the spoiler resumes active duty.

Doesn't surprise me much, but nonetheless...:odd:

You can't even hint at another racing title at the official forum without some idiot saying "What's (insert game title here)?"

I wonder if it's just the Veyron that will be included and not the subsequent "special editions" that follow, or even other vehicles from their library?

GT5P has the spoiler working on the Audi R8 in-game.

I hope both games try to do the Veyron right as well as the Air Brake where it tilts forward. Would be awesome in replays.

I did notice the Veyron cost 1,400,000Cr, quite a price for a Forza game.

As for the Airbrake and active psoiler in Froza 3, Forza 3 doesn't support active parts on cars, there's no active spoilers or airbrakes on cars in FM3.

I think they are trying to translate the car's real price into the game. I would suspect most cars will have real life prices on them.

Possbily, it'd be the first time in Forza history though, in past games the cars as you went up the scale were cheaper than they should have been. You can't buy an LMP car for 450k, so I think the pricing structure of Forza 3 will be different, we'll perhaps see more expensive cars in general. Particularly as you go up into the high performance and rarer cars and prototype race cars. They can't have the LMP's still at 450k and the Veyron at 1.4 million.

I think that was much in fault to the whole region & discount stuff the game tried to do. Personally, I would rather see both disappear & the discounts apply to parts at most, not cars.

Dan G has already confirmed that they are using real life pricing this time in Forza 3. It's about stinking time.

Edit:

More good preview info, this time from Edge:

Edge have a preview in their latest mag for this. Don't have the full text but here's the last paragraph:

Quote:
Despite its patrician tone, there are very few caveats with Forza 3. In what felt like the finished build this is player centric heaven for obsessives and fiddlers, and a superb, comprehensive racing game fir everyone else. Forza Motorsports 3 is pure triple-X don’t-tell-anyone car porn, and every single gleaming curve has been polished to rare perfection.

Sounds orgasmic to me. May I have another??!

I'm in the same boot as you. I also own a G25. I tried the microsoft wheel with Forza 2 a while ago and was really dissapointed! The wheel won't do Forza 3 any good. The Fanatec is very expensive and limited in production.
This is really is bad for the harcore Forza fans who won't get their hands on a Fanatec wheel.

As for the videos I have seen so far, it looks like Forza 3 is more a controller game imo. For turn 10 or/and Microsoft the controller is prior number one, because that is how the most people will play it. It's just a real shame they won't offer a decent wheel for this great game.

The best thing for us G25/PS3/Xbox360 owners, is to play Forza 3 with the controller for a while, then put it on the shelve, as it needs to make room for the 5th edition off Gran Turismo...

Nah....the MS Wheel works great with FM2, much better than the controller. I suspect that will be the case with FM3. Note how every demo, every both and every review has MS pushing the Fanatec and MS wheel. I have only once seen a quick review where they showed someone with a controller in FM3.

I played FM2 with the controller up until about 6 months ago, and elected to get the MS Wheel. I would NEVER go back to the controller in a racing game. Night and day difference with the MS wheel in that game.

If, by 'great' you actually mean rubbish, then yeh the MS wireless wheel works great.

The Fanatec on the other hand seems to have great reviews, I can't wait to try one.

I recommend a pad for those who don't have a fanatec.
