look for the FM3 veyron clips, then compare it to the real thing.. it sounds like Z06 IMHO.

In the first 10 seconds it's shown and it takes off it actually sounds like a CCX. :odd:

I'm still watching the video (again) so I'll edit the post when it's done.

EDIT: Alright. Video is over, and I want know why the Veyron has a grunt. From every video I've seen it's almost as quiet as a Diesel engine (rash generalization). If it does indeed grunt, by all means, I'd love to be proved wrong. Until then, until I can play with the car I can only say "Wtf?" for the time being.

Why are you trying so hard to turn this into a FM vs GT thing here?

I'm stating the obvious. The 14yr olds here will turn it into a Forza vs. GT thing.

You haven't played GT5 nor Forza 3, though. So, where's your argument? In the trash.

I'll call it an... educated hunch.

A strong word to you all.

The next person who post anyything I consider even close to flame-bait goes straight to a 10 point infraction.

It will not be a discussion, it will simply happen.

I (and the rest of the staff) are quite sick of members not being able to discuss titles without silly little flame wars breaking out. So I'm making it easy for you all, talk like grown ups or get an infraction.

This warning will not be repeated.

Watch this video (ignore the M3 part) and listen to the Veyron roll up. It definitely has a real grunt to it.

And I stand corrected. 👍

yeah, instead they get a Veyron that sounds like a Corvette.. :dopey:

First I heard of that. I don't hear a Vette in it at all.

Wow I had no idea the Veyron sounded like that at all, but I guess 16 cylinders will do that.

Can this be a rule for the entire site?

Dang those Ferrari's and that new set of tracks looks to be da bomb! I love it. FM3 seems to be nailing it for "3rd time is the charm". I can't wait to bust out the Ferrari California next week too.

Some pics of thier Amalfi track.

Looks good. Some more pics of the Ferrari's on Forza's site.

That should be a very interesting set of turns come online play. :trouble:

Wow, that Amalfi looks great. Here's hoping for the 19km to be available as one stage.

I am super excited by the pics of that track. Both this and Montserrat look gorgeous. Actually it brings Farcry to mind for me!

Love those kind of tracks, looks so damn cool :D

Yes the track does look awesome. Can't wait to take the GTO II out there:).

Damn, makes me want to get the Fanatec pure edition again.

I was just playing FM2, I know its not 3, but some cars sound good, some dont at all. But of course, how can you capture great sound quality for all 300 some cars?
Not to mention 400 for FM3 and 1000 For GT5.
As long the cars sound mean, I will like it.

They can't do that for every car though. I suspect they weren't allowed to put the Bugatti on a dyno for acoustics testing, or the Shelby Daytona for that matter. For some cars they just have to synthesize a best guess. For the most part they do pretty well though.

They can't. Some cars are completely inaccessible like Porsche 956 #19, some are almost impossible to get today like Lancia Stratos

Yeah, memory stick will be completely useless in Forza 3, confirmed:

"Anyone can get at your stuff via Xbox LIVE. If you want to export it to your PC, you'll need to do it via forzamotorsport.net. Nope, thumb drive isn't supported, but it's not due to lack of trying on our part. Trust me.

If you want to upload 720p footage of a full 2-3 minute lap or even a 7 minute lap of Nurburgring, you'll have to do it in segments since at 30 seconds the average video size is just under 50 megs or something. I need to double check. That said, you can put all of your replays (full length) on your Storefront for everyone to download and check out right off their Xbox 360. This feature is only for exporting 720p footage to your PC so you can then drop it into Final Cut Pro or Premiere and make something beautiful."

As I remember you could save photos from PS2 GT4 using flash. LOL

Turn10 wanted us to use a flashdrive to save replays, photos and designs, Microsoft didnt let them do it, its a shame, i hope we dont have to suffer from bad picture compresion again.

The F40 and the Modena looks soo good now, i cant wait to drive them, and the 288 GTO (im sure is in).

I demand PS3 release of Forza 3.

MS didn't let use memory stick, MS didn't let silver members download demos, MS didn't let use good racing wheels like DFGT

Xbox uses a different interface (XID) which actually required different hardware to the usual that PC's and PS3 uses. Other non Xbox compatable wheels wont work, even after all this time no one can even get the Logitech PC and PS3 wheels to work on Xbox either
... I really believe a USB controller is a USB contoller. Yes, MS is not allowing other wheel to work, but as a software limitation, just like you can't use USB keys or keyboards/mouses while they work fine on the dashboard
if you plug a G25 into the 360, it'll reinitialise; in other words, I think it's connected
shame on MS either way 👎

isn't NFS Shift out ? anyone tried it ? ;)

MS's XID type system requires some of the feedback calculations to be done by the controller itself rather than the usual HID system where it's all done by CPU, so USB itself is irrelivant

Amar has made a good post about it

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=361746

Logitech has pointed the same thing out also on their forums.

I understand that. I mean the XID interface is implemented in software on the XBox, so they could do a HID interface as well. Sure they want you to beleive they can't...

anyone tried NFS Shift ? ;)

Bunch of people in Playstation 3 thread nearby.

Opinions are very mixed and no demo - I'd better wait till Forza 3, especially consider Uncharted 2 on October 13

No they can´t make wheels like the GT 3 RS or G25 compatible it´s impossible. Not with any force feedback anyway.

Shift I have tried and I am frankly quite disappointed knowing who is behind it :(.

As for sound remember you need audiophile soundcards and good speakers or headphones to really be able to judge sound. GTR 2 is not the same on audigy/audigy2/X-fi xtrememusic/elite PRO. Elite Pro to Essence ST the differences start to get small though. Just taking that as an example since it´s the only one I have done a fair comparison with in regard of racing game audio. Still fairs quite good in the audio department as long as you don´t crave surround of course ;)
