Small update on Newgarden’s time, he’s now currently on a 1:44.116.

I know this because I had just beat his previous time of 1:44.449 and noticed his gamer tag wasn’t there anymore. :crazy:

@PJTierney IIRC said that the Holden Torana Forza Edition would given to those who are faster and a participation prize for everyone else.

At this rate no one's going to get a Torana :lol: I find the Indycar really understeer-y in non-tuned trim, it's hard to get a good lap out of it.
 
Not even going to bother trying to beat his time now, knowing that the price car is yet another Forza Edition that I'll never drive. I'll pick one up in the auction house later on.
 
Any of you having problems making online private match? Can't seem to make it work tonight. :/

Competition man! I don't really care for another virtual car, it's about racing. I couldn't beat his time though.

It's impossibly hard to beat him. But hey, a challenge is a challenge. I raise the white flag and surrender with my 1:45.675 time.

Looks like he has done a 1:43.807 :D

My time is currently 1:43.847 but I did make some stupid mistakes on my lap so I should be able to improve a bit. It's going to be a real challenge if he does 1:43.500 or better

Correct.

The standard Torana is one of the best cars in its Division; I dominated an Online Hopper with it one evening :D

I’d love if Newgarden set a #1, just to see the reaction from people who wanted the car :lol:
 
I'v completely missed this Newgarden event, is it in the Rivals or do we just go to Road America and set a lap in a indy car in free play??
 
Another thing, just turned on my xbox and the forza 7 DEMO was getting an 2.something GB update....anyone knows what thats about? lol
 
Unbeatable AI just went into Hyper mode on Daytona. I had been running the GT-R FE there for the extra credits, had won every race on unbeatable and was sitting at something like #3 or 4 on the leaderboards with it. I decided to try a different car as that one was getting boring and not fast enough to climb to #1. So I get a car that is a bit faster, better acceleration, more top speed, better speed through the corners, a bit over 1/2 second faster lap times than the GT-R

So anyway I start the race and the AI just goes flying by me off the line. I chase them the whole race slowly overtaking them one by one. a 10 lap race and I ended up 9th. So what gives I posted what I thought was the #1 time and finish 9th? Turns out a friend of mine had the same idea and had managed to get #1 with the same car I tried so I ended up #2 but the AI beats us by almost 3 full seconds on lap time. I looked at the replay and the car I was in is the fastest I have driven yet in that class hitting 218 mph the AI cars up front were hitting 233+ The same cars I was beating race after race with a car that only did 216mph.

This is the 3rd time I have been on Daytona and the AI managed to get 20-40mph more than the car would actually do.

Seems that at times they are running about 4 levels beyond unbeatable.


Edit: So I went out made some changes and tried again. This time I get to 219mph and manage the #1 time [for now] The AI once again checked out right off the line. 20 cars passed me before I got enough speed to over take one of them and my car is fast off the line.

This time I scrubbed a wall, dropped a lot of speed on one lap and finished 13th.
I looked at the replay the lead car was hitting 237mph then I noticed the HP on the telemetry and he was running over 900hp. The limit for the division is 650hp.

So mystery solved I guess AI is maybe not bound by the same division rules as the rest of us when on unbeatable or at least not in this case. That also explains why they were much faster off the line 300 extra jp gives a pretty good boost to acceleration

Just out of curiosity, what is the highest difficulty level where the Drivatars run cars with power figures within the Division cap?

Did they fix the livery editor crashes in this update? Finally managed to do a full livery with no crashes

Can't say for sure. This only seems to happen sometimes. Most of the time I win races here easily even in a slower car with a less than stellar run of my own but sometimes they get serious.

In today's session unbeatable was unbeatable. I dropped it to pro still unbeatable, dropped it to expert managed to over take the lead car late in the race for the win. I looked at the replay afterward and saw he was still running ~780hp which is a good bit down from the 900+ he had before but still a good bit above the 650hp cap and far above the ~570 I was using. For all I know he may have had sport tires and weight reduction as well.

There was a glitch I came across last week, don't know it it got fixed:
  • Go to Hockenheim Drag Strip
  • Do a race.
  • Restart race.
  • In the car select screen scroll to your preferred car, press [x] once, then select your car.

Your car will then drive in the "Forzavista exploded" state, despite being a lower LOD model.

Hey, this trophy truck category is pretty damn fun! I thought I was going to hate it, from what a lot of people have been saying. I think it’s something different, and I really like it. There nothing like going around a turn almost sideways, and still passing cars(or trucks I guess is what I mean). :cheers:

The pace of the Ai on unbeatable in that category is ridiculous. I only have one eligible vehicle, and I can't do it hahaha. I need to wait for something else comes along before I give that hell hole a shot again.

Yeah I’m not on unbeatable, I do expert or professional. I used the #37 pro truck as well, I’m sure some of those vehicles handle completely different.
