I know some people don't care too much for it but for me Homologation has been like a breath of fresh air for the Forza series and i for one hope it's here to stay.

Instead of just one leaderboard for every class and track you've now got many more meaning for the first time ever all the cars have purpose and a place they can be moderately competitive. Some might see this as T10 taking the easy route as the PI system needs a major overhaul but so far so good (at least for me)

Nah, nah it's not that. I'll be cool with it. It's just that when I'm in a private room with friends, I just wanna be able to drive what I want. Like, my friend Alan, he loves the RX-7, I love the C7 Z06. So I wanna be able to drive them freely. Not locked behind the homologation.

Wasn't having a pop my friend, just wanted to air my view on Homologation.

Over on the official forums you'd think the world was ending, i really don't understand what all the fuss is about. For years the very same people have been moaning about ridiculous builds topping the class based leaderboards, yet the moment something is done to address the issue the developer gets jumped on.

Sure it's a big change and some people see the very essence of forza being the ability to turn an 80bhp car into a 1000bhp monster but i like that they're trying to at least balance the classes and these new division restrictions are a step in the right direction, imo

My only complaint about homologation is that it sort of allowed T10 to get a little lazy with the career mode events. It would have been nice to have championships based on body type, aspiration, country and various other things they could have sorted by than just having the game match your class.

I also like how the classes don't just tune to the top of whatever class they felt fit the division the best.

There are still some cars within the PI limits of homologation that are much faster than the others, though. Like in the Sport GT class, both the '08 and '16 Viper ACR are miles faster than everything else. It's a better system but it's not quite perfect yet.

I don't so much mind people sharing opinions or constructive criticism, but the melodrama really irks me. Some issues aren't really issues but just personal preference, like how points should be distributed in championships. Others are technically valid but blown out of proportion. Some are just complete nonsense, like crying over microtransactions or loot crates, neither of which are necessary and neither of which hurt anybody. Yet trivialities get blown up into melodramatic tantrums about how the game is garbage, Turn 10 is the antichrist, and they're done with the franchise. It's childish nonsense.

I'm fine with homologation for a few reasons, and have little tolerance for kids blowing up over it. I wouldn't care if it was optional outside of the main career, but whatever. There's reasons why I endorse homologation, including it eliminating (or trying to) leaderboard cars, trying to close up the field for tighter racing, and the fact that in reality all series have some form of homologation. Sometimes it's like F1 and it's simply restrictions on everything, like Forza does, and sometimes it goes as far as nerfing dominant cars to balance the grid. I can't think of any series that doesn't have some sort of homologation.

The thing that sold me about Homologation was the fact i actually spent longer than 5 minutes building and tuning a Range Rover. Kudos to T10 for that.

I haven't raced them thoroughly yet, but from what I can tell, at least some of the cars will beat the ACR's on higher speed tracks.

With Homologation, can I still tune the cars? I watch YouTube videos, and I don't see anybody doing this. They just hop in the cars and drive.

Edit: I just realized I'll have about 57GBs to download when I first get the game. Could I buy an external HDD, and would that help me if I decide to get an X down the line?

It all depends on the car and what parts you put on it, but for the most part yes.

If you win a car from levelling up then the game will Homologate it for you to fit into it's division, if you buy it normally from the 'buy car' menu then it will ask you if you want to buy it Homologated with the parts fitted or in stock form (you still get charged for the parts even if you elect to buy it stock, god knows why)

Either way you want to remove all the parts and start over as the game does a terrible job at building the car. Then as long as the parts you've added can be tuned you can go ahead and alter the settings.

As for an external HDD, i'd definitely get one even if you plan on getting the X. I believe most work as long as they're at least USB 3.0 or faster (sure someone will correct me if wrong)

Yep, I actually just ordered one today from amazon to prepare to move my games over. I wanted a SSD, but they are so damn expensive. So I ended up getting a 4tb Seagate HDD.

Seagate Game Drive for Xbox Game Pass Special Edition 4TB - White (STEA4000407) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072LX7WLP/?tag=gtplanet-20

Edit: yes they have to be USB 3.0 or later and at least 256 GBs.

Right on. Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you, good sir.

I wouldn't be in a rush, it hasn't even officially started yet so I'm sure it will take a little time for stores to rotate the new packaging in. It also doesn't end until next April either so there is plenty of time.

I went to my local grocery store last night but the only Totinos promo was for a different game on the XBox. I didn't see anything for FM7. I guess I'm going to have to slum it down to my local Walmart.
Mrs ykiki asked me to stop at the store and pick something up for dinner on the way home from work yesterday. She was actually happy with my selection of pizza rolls!

Now it's just a matter of waiting till Sunday to enter my code.

I bought a 4 pack of party pizzas, but apparently you can't redeem it until the 15th. Hopefully since it's a larger size it includes all 4 items instead on one. I want the 2 Huayras, couldn't care less about the suits.

The 4-pack simply gives you an exclusive driver suit that you can’t get from the other packages. It works the same way as past Totino’s Xbox promotions—3 common prizes and 1 exclusive.

EDIT: The fine print

Something I miss about Forza 4 is being able to pick the slowest car(The Old Beetle back then) and having all the other cars you race be different. Now I choose the Isetta and the field is 12 Fiat 595s and 11 Holden Utes. Wish I could turn whatever causes that off.

I would expect the Beetle and the old mini to be in there as well. I was racing the Beetle yesterday against the old Fiats, Isettas and Minis

In free play I am pretty sure you can change the setting to class or even any though I have not tried it to see how it handles the Ai in those cases

Speaking of Isetta, I cannot believe how good it actually is in this game! In Forza 6, it was IMPOSSIBLE to control, no matter what you did. Even completely stock, it would tip over through turns, almost as if Turn 10 programmed it like a reversing Reliant Regal Supervan. Now in Forza 7, it's amazing. For Major Micros, I highly recommend the Isetta, stock tire width, fully built engine to 65HP. With a racing gearbox tuned correctly, it PULLS off the line. Heck, for giggles, I built a 2-rotor powered Isetta for A-class, and I was shocked to find that it could actually compete with the supercars that fill that class. Nothing is quite as humorous as out-accelerating a Ford RS200 or Ferrari 360 Stradale with a tiny Isetta that braps.

Seriously, the Isetta is no slouch. Even the leaderboards prove it, with most of the Major Micros circuits being dominated by Isettas and '65 Coopers. A must-buy, and I type this with as serious a face as possible. You'll thank me later. ;)👍

I always turn homologation off in freeplay so I don't end up with the Major Micros cars. I have tried messing with stuff like FM4 freeplay where you pick a car and the game picks similiar PI cars to you but I am convinced it just doesn't work like that anymore.

I couldn't get it to work in FM6 either. If you pick the Isetta there you just get a field of Isettas.

Yeah, I read that after I posted that. I'll have to keep an eye out for the other items, at least I will have a full set.

Yeah, but that's because of how much aero it has, it's out of breath at 160mph or so. It was one of the cars that came to FH3 that I was really looking forward to putting through its paces on an actual track, and I have to say it really delivers.

I've been waiting to drive a good rendition of an ACR for quite some time.
It probably "should" be the fastest in it's class at lower and mid speed tracks.

I was really blown away by reviews of the ACR, I've never seen a Viper get so highly praised before. This drives like the reviews and lap times gush.

The ‘08 Viper is still a monster, and now that it doesn’t have to compete with the Alfa 33 or BAC Mono it’s capable of dominating that Multi-Class Hopper. I won almost every race I did in that Hopper last night, the car is that good.

I did the A Class hoppers for a bit yesterday and seems like the Alfa 33 is still really good as the only people matching or beating me in my E36 were driving those.

I've not ventured online yet. Tell me, is friction assist allowed or is it forced off?
