i hope they announce the career mode changes after then and also announce some intresting cars to race with like the Mazda Furai or some fun kei-cars as response to GT7 kei truck, i know everyone is taking about GT3 but i have no interest, in my opinion is a overrated class of cars that is overused even in real life in detriment of touring cars and other types of non-formula car racing
I was very disappointed the Autozam didn't come over with Fujimi Kaido, it seemed like such a perfect time for it and it may have actually been raceable there.

I didn't really like the fact that T10 didn't allude to anything coming next month when this update dropped especially considering this one will last a full 2 months. Most times they will say at the end of the blog that next update will come next month and they will mention no track or a track coming. But this time nothing....but they also didn't say nothing isn't coming either. Hopefully they utilize the Xbox showcase to give us an idea if anything will drop in June and beyond.
Agreed, I really dislike their "say nothing until the last possible second" strategy they seem to be employing most of the time. Case in point, back earlier this year for the February update, everyone was expecting another track because it had been a 2 month cycle and then when the update drops they kinda go "oh yeah guys btw no track lol peace." Even for updates and stuff, they have stopped putting out info before hand or a teaser or whatever and just drop it and disappear again until next month.

Obviously for Fujimi Kaido they did a little more promotion and I was really hoping it was a sign that things would start ramping up again and there would be a "renewed energy" sorta, but the update dropped and radio silence again. There wasn't even one of the regular "tune in next month for (insert vague name for the theme here)!" message at the news post on the website.

I was really hoping the big 20th anniversary update would include some communication acknowledging some things like the missing features, a general rough outline of what the future updates will look like (new track delivery back to 2 months now? Or 5 months now? More DLC packs? New features every 2nd or 3rd update? Etc...), whether this 7 week update is an anomaly or is the update frequency going to be 7 weeks going forward? Obviously they can't be too specific with exact dates/content/etc but something would have been nice...

They alluded to this back in January. Everything from then to May would just be new content b/c they were re-working their plans for the latter half of the year.
We recently finalized our plan for the updates we will be making available to you in the first half of 2025. This includes a content update in May that will include a fan favorite track.
...
As we’ve been working through all this new content, we’ve also been continuing to look towards future updates. This means that our work on some of the features we previously announced for early 2025 may be re-evaluated as we complete our new plans. Until then over the next three months our updates will be new content only. That was a very difficult decision, however we are excited to continue to bring new content and experiences to you.
Additionally, because this is a 2-month event, there isn't going to be any news about next month or future plans right off the bat because they want the focus to remain on their biggest update yet. I would check back around the middle of June when this event has had more time to be played through to know what July will bring.

also focus on least-keept secret on racing gaming community right now: Forza Horizon 6
remember, the next update will be announced during or after the xbox showcase

Also, what if, in the Showcase they announce a PS5 Launch for Forza Motorsport?
unlikely for now, due GT7/GT8, xbox showcase being focused most on Xbox and with lot of people complaning about the fact too much games are going to other plataforms, FM needs more players than FH5 so i assume they would focus on port FM first than FH5 if this was the case

i think they will use FM as exclusive to calm down the most hardcore and use FH5 port to finance FM while FH6 finance itself

Probably way too early. Panic Button would presumably be on porting duties again and they've only just finished FH5.
i am sure they are focusing on bugfixing for FH5 and maaaaaaaaaybeeeeeeeeee FH6
Also, as I comented sometimes here, Monza surely will be the next track, I think we will not have any tracks for Update 21, but in July, Update 22 will be a Italian Themed Update, also, Interlagos by the end of the year is not impossible at all
I think it is more poossible they add interlagos first over monza, monza is less liked by forza drivers due the first chicane turn being a dumper fest with unexperienced drivers always pushing you to the walls of the track
Iinterlagos also have a chicane on first turn but more escape vs monza, allso its by far the most voted track right now on forza forums since fujimi went to the game
I was very disappointed the Autozam didn't come over with Fujimi Kaido
I wonder if they are planning a japanese car update to go with FH6 launch, its intresting that not even autozam or the japanese neo-classic from nissan arent on the game on THIS update

Those people complaining really need to understand the new reality. Microsoft are a multi-platform publisher now, everything is an Xbox, the days of exclusives are long gone.

I don't get it. They can still play the games on Xbox right? Who exactly does it harm if other people can play them too?

I guess Steam users don't have this hangup but then I bet they're not paranoid about the long-term viability of their chosen platform. I've had a pile of good gaming on my Series X since I bought it during the pandemic and even if Microsoft never make another console (which I strongly doubt) I don't regret choosing it over PS5 for an instant. Four years of Horizon 5 alone more than justified the purchase for me and getting to play EA Sports WRC and FM2023 were the icing on the cake.

That said, I'd love it if Xbox Five Series 720 had some degree of Steam capability. I envy that userbase more than I do PlayStation's but the endless PC hardware upgrade cycle was too much hassle for me which is why I disembarked from the merry-go-round.

Think an important distinction to make here is, Microsoft is a software company that sells co soles to move more software, Sony is a hardware company that produces games to move consoles.
IMO that's old thinking. Xbox Game Studios (properly) now makes and distributes games across all hardware platforms, including its own which has a minority share of total console sales, that it's probably shrinking. Since consoles are sold at a loss, by publishing across platforms while having only a small hardware footprint (maybe as a portable, or a reference console/PC hybrid made by a second/third party, who knows) may be the most sustainable/profitable model moving forward.

PlayStation (gaming hardware/software subdivision of Sony Corporation) will rely on being the dominant console player, and the most economic option to PC gaming, even if we start seeing US$600-700 hardware in the near future. At this point it's not their games that move hardware by themselves, but their market dominance, goodwill, and second- and third-party publishers (including Xbox Studios now) that flock to their platform.

The "console wars" probably was only a major battle in a larger war for the gaming market.

I assume the console market isn't much bigger than the PC market if at all. But I assume that the mobile market is where the majority of modern gaming money is made.

Anyone have some good figures?

The AI is an overall improvement, but maybe they stay side by side too well? I've just done a 7 lap race where 6 cars stayed side by side through the entire race, until I passed two of them on lap 6 and then it was only 4.

Every corner. Every straight. Side by side, blocking the whole track. There were multiple chances for the off-line cars to move onto the racing line that they simply didn't take.

This is thankfully my first time experiencing this but it shows there's still room for tuning. Maybe they were trying not to move into too small of a gap to prevent ramming? I'm not sure.

I don't think I've seen that yet. So far they have been spaced out fairly evenly. Occasionally two of them will get side by side but they don't stay there long.

However I have noticed that instead of brake checking and stopping right in front of you, they have compensated by going much too fast into slow corners and smashing you in the back. I ran an early prototype race at Road America tonight and at turn 5 early in the race I had to stay far to the right as one or two of them came flying into that corner way too hot. I had to pick my way around the pileup to get up the hill. But it did take out about 5 cars so it was an easy pass. But I have noticed it at other tracks as well.

Looks like a hotfix update will be rolled out today

We are rolling out Hotfix 20.1 for Forza Motorsport on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

This version resolves issues with the dirty lap symbol appearing next to clean qualifying lap times in Featured Multiplayer, low car audio volume for the 2005 Honda NSX-R when under 5k revs, and the missing music additions from classic Forza Motorsport games.

Version Number:

  • Xbox Series X|S: 1.835.2356.0
  • PC (Microsoft Store): 1.835.2356.0
  • Steam: 1.835.2356.0

Bug Fixes and Improvements

Audio [All Platforms]

  • Fixed an issue with low volume car audio for the 2005 Honda NSX-R when under 5k revs.
  • Fixed an issue where the additional soundtrack pieces – which features a mix of classic and new, original music – introduced to the music playlist in Update 20 would not play in the main menu, and neither in pre-race nor post-race scenarios.
    • Developer’s Note: The next time you launch Forza Motorsport after downloading the hotfix, you will hear music from Forza Motorsport 3, 4, 5 and 6 as the first 5 music sets you hear in the game.
    • You will then hear one of the 3 new music sets. Once all 20 of the updated pieces have been played, the game will shuffle all songs and repeat.
Featured Multiplayer [All Platforms]

  • Fixed an issue where a dirty lap symbol would unexpectedly appear next to clean qualifying lap times in Featured Multiplayer events.
Meetups [All Platforms]

  • Ghosting has been enabled in Track Day Meetups for many of the same scenarios that can occur in Featured Multiplayer (driving backwards, stopped on track, high velocity collisions, etc.).
    • Developer’s Note: While we're initially only making this change for Track Day Meetups, we will continue to observe the community’s feedback to ascertain if we need to do the same thing for Drift Meetups as well.

Speaking of sound issues, I ran the '24 Z Nismo reward car in a race yesterday and that car is very quiet. I upgraded the brakes, suspension and transmission but I think I need to scrap all of that and install a race exhaust so I can hear the car. I would like to keep it in B class so it can't have a lot of upgrades.

Just switched on the game post-update. It's still the same crappy music. 😭
After restarting the game 4 separate times I can confirm this same crap is happening to me still. I have yet to hear any of the classic Forza songs smh.

Edit: after doing a race, the post race song ended up being something I believe from FM3. So all is good I guess on my end, I guess it just needed to cycle a few times or waited for me to clear a race

I heard some different music I hadnt heard before when I backed into the main menu from the Forza 1 event. I came into the series on FM3 so I didnt recognize the music, but it was different for sure and possibly felt more like something from that era. I did not play much today so that was all I noticed before quitting for the day.

Enjoying the added music, though I don't recognize any so far. Still, nice to change it up since the original music was getting a bit repetitive.

I am also very pleased with the updated AI. In my experience so far they are a big improvement. Not perfect but they also aren't randomly braking or ramming into everything.

Feels so weird to not have the other cars ram or PIT you after you turn a corner but I'm not complaining. Bye-bye also to them brake checking in the middle of a turn, hopefully.

I wonder whether Fujimi Kaido was held back until the AI could cope with it. Either way, I'm delighted with the track and racing. For me, they've set a high standard against which future updates should be compared from now on.

Nah they're still doing it it's just not as frequent as it was before. Yesterday I had an AI car virtually come to a complete stop AFTER it had went through the final chicane at Nurburgring GP. Not on initial turn in but after it went through the chicane it parked on the exit. The kink in between the two horseshoe turns at Daytona continues to be a problem especially in faster cars.

The screen freezing on PC is getting much worse. Before it was for just a fraction of a second but now it's more like a half second or more and you sometimes lose the wheel at the same time. During practice I thought I would try just coming to a stop on the first lap and wait it out to see if it would stop since it's always on that opening lap of practice or the race. But it didn't help. Once I started moving again the freezing returned so it must be dependent on you moving.

That freezing sounds more like a PC issue? Not something I've experienced anyway.

After listening to those wailing FM5 choirs in the menu I almost miss the old music.

Almost.

Where are "Paris-Rouen" and "Legendary Ratio"? I've a feeling I'll have to sit through a lot more music until they show up. "Journeyman Part 1" is probably the only music from 5 I want to hear again so I hope the John Broomhall tracks are also included. A selection menu would be so nice. I'd just listen to these three on repeat.
