For someone like me who doesn't do a lot of tuning to cars and like to drive them mostly stock, I like it at 50. The way the AI are always in the same realm as you doesn't really force me to have to super tune up the cars really. I'm sitting on a lot of in game credits and don't mind spending a couple grand here or there to get some part if I needed it.

My thing is I'd like to see it, car XP, reintegrated into the game in a more fun and useful way. Maybe have some offline races where you can only use a car with 30+ car XP? I don't know. Something. Right now, it's not very integrated. Of course these types of races can't just disappear all the time. We really need long term goals in FM. It's all just the short excursion and then the wait for the next short excursion.

Apparently, the Open Tour’s a very motivating way to get your cars to level up to at least level 45-50 by using one car in two series (eg. using the Mustang Foxbody in D and C Class), for a total of about 3 hours (including practice runs).
Yep, I usually use the open tours to "top off" car levels to work towards manufacturer discounts
Yep, I did that with Porsches all month.

I had hoped that Car XP would turn into a more advanced version of "Car affinity", with unlockable stickers, driver suits and maybe even unlockable rare cars/forza editions.

Instead of being limited to individual car levels, they should have added to a mfg. pool with all the unlockables. There could have been a sponsor system with all the fictional sponsors in game that unlocked specific logos/stickers for the manufacturer, that would be do 'x' task in the car during race/practice to unlock 'y'. You could have added special forza editions cars too.

I still look at the original reveal trailer with the Apollo IEs with fictional liveries, racing numbers, fictional tire lettering and spec racing. That would have added a good amount of depth to the basic builders cup. We also are missing something event variety will lack of proper rivals (Porsche v ferrari, Mustang v Camaro, Corvette v Ferrari, etc.) and obviously race division specific championships like GT3, GT4, TCR etc, with customizable championship length (something like 4-12 races) and customizable race length (10 mins to 1+ hour per race). Stuff like this can be done with free play, but having it be in the game with it being preset would add a lot to the career mode. This could contribute to your sponsor choices and mfg choices with Car XP.

i wonder if they will reformulate the carreer mode soon, something akin FM3/FM4 duo career modes
An iteration on FM4's career mode would get me to play the game near daily (bar work time of course). FM4's career wasn't perfect despite its frequent praise but it had some very fun elements in it. Affinity, the unique event types they had in heaps, and the occasional side event to break up the monotony of standard races. Don't know if I'm remembering right, but wasn't there also just a wall of events that you could do as well? Separate from the main career events.

Excited for the update tomorrow!

Would really be cool if there were some permanent career series added, maybe based off the history of FM. Especially with the supposedly better AI. Also would be great time to add a car pack as well considering how many people will re-download the game just to play Fujimi.

Meetups returning would be huge as well. 24 players hooning around Kaido? Sign me up. Lets see what T10 have been cooking!

Apart from saying May 5th on the recent article about the process behind Fujimi's return, is there a concrete time frame for when the update drops today?

I would imagine a roadmap blog post would soon follow up to update 20 considering we know nothing about June and beyond. The last roadmap we got was months ago so once they drop another one of those, hopefully the last year mentioned career mode changes is talked about too. They have had a solid 4 months to get to working on other elements so hopefully the career mode was on their priority list, along with more QOL fixes, perhaps more tracks and even some DLC.

Keep in mind this is a Google translation of an image, which I got from discord. Seems like T10 leaked stuff early by accident. The link at the end of the post doesn't work yet

If this is real it's at least good to see the words "car pack" again. Interesting...
I wonder what it would cost as the Porsche 963 is priced at €5/$5 for just a single car (and racing suit) although that thankfully was free for the first week or so. But I agree, it’s good to see them having a car pack again :)

Pack from Horizon 5 are like €5 for 4 cars and I would expect a Forza Motorsport pack to cost more given the price of the 963. Lets see!

Depending on how much of a heavy hitter the car pack is, I can't see it being over $10 USD. The standard has always been between 5.99 and 9.99
