Well no more new content for the game

Well, considering how much their systems changed from the last games of their respective series. Forza Motorsport is a rough equivalent of Gran Turismo Sport. GT7 is built upon that foundation, so it's possible that a successor game that uses most of FM assets could launch later.

I have seen comments saying Sonoma, a Player hub (livery & tunes downloads) and even a player stats feature being worked on, on Reddit. If it's true, it makes me sadder.

Really hope they are able to revisit it in the future, its a shame how many unique assets are made for these games which end up abandoned. In the end I can shift to driving on another game platform, but will miss the excellent variety of cars and tracks forza always offered.

Wow that is sad and the final nail in this games coffin. I guess play until the wheels fall off and move onto another racer.
What it should be is a lesson; don't release games in such a half-finished state. But of course this is Microsoft, and to a greater extent the industry as a whole...

Regardless, it'll remain my go-to sim for the foreseeable future simply for having the most variety and content on Xbox. I don't have the time or money to justify owning more than one gaming platform at a time, so FM is it for me.

Yeah same for me. Even though PMR is slowly becoming the next game in my list to get for racing immersion. I just wish PMR had FM's car roster, tracks, better usage of controller, grid size and grahics. That is why I will also keep playing FM

Sad announcement but not a surprise really since it's what most expected would be the case 5 months ago.

Interesting that they specifically stated "regular bug fixes." Wonder if that means they would only bother fixing something game breaking that pops up, or if a few fixes are in the pipeline but aren't high priority so may come down the road.

Now that it's official, the biggest shame for me is the lack of bug fixes I guess. While some more tracks would have been really nice, the game is in a state where there is still a lot of fun racing to be had, but sometimes requires fighting around some bugs that really drag things down. I was skeptical anyways but I held out hope some stuff like the car collision/drafting glitches, the paint shop taking 5+ minutes to load things for some people, getting stuck on the black screen while loading to the grid, and so on would be fixed.

It would have also been cool for them to switch up/add more variety to the multiplayer rotations if they are going to abandon it. Some of them are feeling pretty "same-y" and I don't even do Featured Multiplayer every week.

The leagues will keep carrying on for a while though because there just isn't any alternative on Xbox. Will be interesting to see how long we can drag it out, but it's definitely sad and dare I say a little "scary" or something, as our league is made up of all kinds of people with different budgets/etc, so a platform switch and/or wheel setup just isn't possible for everyone and it will be quite sad to see the gang split up. Many of us have been racing together for 10+ years.

We've basically reached EOL here. Maybe even the end of the franchise.

"As our team shifts its focus toward delivering the best possible experience with Forza Horizon 6 in 2026, we do not plan to introduce new cars, tracks, features, or regular bug fixes for Forza Motorsport. However, we will continue supporting the game by keeping online servers active, hosting special events and competitions, and reintroducing previously released Featured Tours and reward cars on a monthly basis, until all content is available for you to enjoy anytime."

I loved Forza Motorsport in the Xbox 360 days, even having a triple screen setup across three Xboxes. I was inspired to buy the Forza-themed Xbox One only to be severely disappointed by the backward steps of FM5 and FM6. Not only the decision to drop multi-screen support but terrible UI choices.

That's what got me into Gran Turismo and inspired me to buy 3 PS3's, GT5s and GT6s

And (via PS4) here I am on PS5/PSVR2 with Forza being many distant and extremely fond memories. Like this one...

This is sad. The main GT contender is already dead.

Well apparently the whole community prefer the open world festival arcade racing games after all.

FM 2023 is a case study on how to do everything wrong at launch. No shock it ended this way, we could see it coming a mile away. They recovered a bit the past year, but it was too little, too late.

It just had a lifeless aura from the start too, that permeated to everything like the UI, etc. There was zero passion in this game.

I know PD do whatever they want, but it's not good that a competitor is done, either.
