I completely doubt this; Porsche was mentioned thoroughly in RuF's automobile descriptions, but it is impossible for PD to get ahold of proper licensing to release their cars.

EA owns (rights to) Porsche, sadly:tdown:

After reading this-.---
Ther is also mentioned "Lister", is it on GT5???
SPIRRA???
spyker?

Credits involve ALL cars manufacturers, right?

a curious finding... "The Alpha jet is a Dassualt Aviation reproduced bla bla bla"
But that fighter jet was used only on the videos, nowere inside the game

Moon over the castle... it is really used?

All three of those manufacturers are in GT5, as standard cars.

OFF TOPIC....
Just look at "Development TEAM" a huge part of the team is just moldeling" and KAzz only do few things.

And I dont see a "Sound Recording department" wait.... it says... "Sound simulation" Holly cow... PD, why?!

Also, there are only 2 guys on AI
XD that explain why is taking so long to improve it. Although, Arcade AI is quite good.

I'd love to know if these credits have been there the entire time, or if they were included in an update.. and when?

Hope this one pans out, but not too much, as nothing has been officially announced.

Of course, if it is announced soon, watch how many of us scour the credits after each maintenance update, lol. Merry Christmas, Amar.

Did you just stop at Aston Martin? Its possible that they used the car in something other than an actual playable model (ie other car's information/museum card).

Good call. It's good to especulate since it keeps the interest in the game, but being honest, this is most likely the reason.

Check for other manufacturers, OP. Remember that there is a bunch of models in the museum that are not in the game.

You need to check the UCD more often. these cars don't appear too often, but they are still in the game.

The Lister Storm V12 Race Car has been with us since GT2, and we even had the street going Storm back then (boy, I miss that ugly piece of car).

The Proto Motors Spirra(now known as Oullim Spirra), has been with us since GT4. It's the prototype Spirra which had a Mustang V8 on the back(so technically it should still be under the Proto Motors badge. The production model has a Hyundai V6). It's a really good car.

And the Spyker C8 has been also since GT4. Not a great car, but very good looking.

There was something called the "Leaping Device" for Jaguar. I assume that's the official name for their logo.

Read OP before posting. :p

Very unlikely as most of the "parked" cars I've seen so far were very pixelated versions of unlicensed cars like the Cadillac Escalade. But interesting thought.

i've actually seen some imprezas and audis parked, the Audi RS6 is pretty common

Its a cool find but in 30 seconds people will be posting "Confirmed Aston Martin DLC" , lets not get ahead of ourselves here for once

There was a Volante in GT1 if I'm not mistaken. They probably still have the liscense.

And you know what? I'm reading my GT4 manual and apart from the horrible typos, they also mention the Aston Martin Lagonda! That car was not in GT4?! Never mind. I thought they were talking about that ugly arse sedan, not the manufacturer.

In Land Rover they also mention the... wait for it... the SERIES 1! It's a shame but that was also not in the game.

Another few. In Volvo they mention the 850T, the 5R and the S8. None of them in the game.

So yeah, who knows. They probably have to include those names if they mention those models in other car's descriptions.

still, no clue or trace for the ONE-77 in the game, let the hunt begin, so all the other models are actually in other models' descriptions as i thought it would be, but the
one-77? could it be written on a poster at London? or in a Photo Travel Location? this is really interesting

You know, I thought the same. But have you read the description of one of the Rufs? (I think the BTR) It mentions the unmentionable german manufacturer.

We MAY get cars as DLC nearly a year after the game came out, while other games already have them.

Life's good as a Gran Turismo fan........

I don´t assume anything until i see it ingame or official announced...

There was a game (think it was Test drive unlimited), which had some lambos in it, the credits mentioned the Diablo aswell.....the car never appeared ingame....

On the topic of licenses in game manuals I remember reading that the Coca-Cola Company was mentioned in the GT4 manual even though they didn't advertise on any of the fantasy tracks. It was just because one or two real tracks (not sure what ones) had the sponsor boards obviously on the track when PD were modeling.

You probably thought of TDU. I've got TDU2 and I will check whether there are in credits any Lambos or not.

But I found in my GT2 manual that all Aston Martins' cars existed in that game were specified in the credits section (DB6, V8 VANTAGE, DB7 VOLANTE AND DB7 COUPE).

So it's almost sure that we'll get DBS, DB9 VOLANTE and ONE-77 in GT5.

An interesting question is: has the credits section in GT5 been updated? Or have that cars been there from the begining?

If it's legit, the new NSX would probably be in there as well after being in the SSRX video, although no word on that has been made yet...

EA owns (rights to) Porsche, sadly:tdown:

Not anymore, Forza released a tonne of Porsche's as soon as the EA deal ran out.

Isn't it technically the ONE-76 now? Since one crashed?

Technically, yes. Let's hope the crashed one from Hong Kong won't be a total loss, or at least get repaired (or rather re-build) anyway.

This is probably the first credible rumor GTPlanet has seen in months.

This is the kind of DLC talk thread we need here on GTP :)

On another token, in the description of the S7, we find this...

As I said yesterday, the DBS is mentioned in the game, but neither the word 'Volante' nor the word 'One-77'.
You're right about the Saleen then though, we most likely won't see it in GT. Going to update OP.

Good call. It's good to especulate since it keeps the interest in the game, but being honest, this is most likely the reason.

Look:

Hi all.
...
After discovering that quite exciting find I decided to scroll down the credits in case I'd find something else interesting, but the only unused car name I found was this.

Saleen "S7R" would be nice to have in the future too.

I did look for other car manufacturers but didn't find anything else that could be interesting. What I also noticed is that most manufacturers don't mention every single car but rather just the brand.

Its a cool find but in 30 seconds people will be posting "Confirmed Aston Martin DLC" , lets not get ahead of ourselves here for once

Nope. We have a good moderation team to clean that up in case it begins. 👍

You're correct about the DB7 Volante in GT1!

That only leaves the One-77 being used/mentioned nowhere in the GT series so far.

About the Land Rover Series One, check the Range Rover Concept's description, pretty sure it's mentioned there. Same about the Volvos.

👍
I doubt that they use it as a commercial anywhere on the tracks, then again PD tries to be as close to reality as possible, including the "Ring Taxi M5" poster on the Nordschleife and a BMW 3 Series commercial in Tokyo R246 for example. It's possible they show the One-77 somewhere on a track. I hope they don't. :p

There was a game (think it was Test drive unlimited), which had some lambos in it, the credits mentioned the Diablo aswell.....the car never appeared ingame....

Test Drive Unlimited 1 had Lamborghini included, across all platforms. When developing Test Drive Unlimited 2, Atari/Eden Games had limited money resources so they couldn't afford both the Ferrari and Lamborghini license. Therefore they had to choose and excluded Lamborghini. (Got this from googling "TDU Lamborghini License")
Which credits do you mean mentions the Diablo? TDU's credits maybe do (didn't check that myself), but they probably have only the license for that single Lamborghini then and didn't include it therefore or there was another problem. GT's credits do because the Lamborghini NOMAD Diablo GT-1 (JGTC) ’00 is included in GT5.

If it's legit, the new NSX would probably be in there as well after being in the SSRX video, although no word on that has been made yet...

No, I'm not 100% sure but I think it only says the model names or even only Honda as brand name. If it says the model names, the new NSX is "included" under the term "NSX" as well as the old ones, which exact model versions are licensed is a secret of PD and Honda.

On the other hand, a licensing problem could be the reason we still don't have the Honda NSX in GT5 although it probably was done the same time Route X came out! Another reason could be that they are keeping it for the last, huge DLC car pack, in case it ever will be released.
This is going off-topic :scared:

Few minutes ago I checked GT2 credits section in game manual and Aston Martin cars descriptions in terms of licence aspect. I found that DB5 was present in the description of DB6 but wasn't mentioned in credits at all.

So maybe it's really a hint that we'll get new Aston Martin cars in the not to distant future.

EDIT On the other hand, only in GT2 credits appeared Jaguar XK180, which we haven't received so far

I have more rumor bait. Every but one car that Yamauchi drives in the GT-TV Goodwood Festival feature is available in GT5. The cars available in the game were all but one Premium. The one that wasn't Premium was "premiumized" later via DLC. The only missing car is actually the most interesting one, the Audi V8 race car. So either they could not license the car, or it wasn't finished in time to make it into the GT5 release. Maybe and hopefully the Audi is a DLC candidate.

Wait, you mean the R8 Race car right?

I remember the Hyundai Genesis being mentioned in the description of the Hyundai Tiburon/Tuscani/Coupe. I'll have to check that out.

I'm going to sound like a right nuisance for saying this but;

pics or it didn't happen.

As I mentioned above, is in the Ruf BTR description. They mention Porsche 911 a couple of times.

It's funny because in previous games, instead of mentioning Porsche, they say "the famous German sports car."

If you still need proof and you don't have a BTR a hand, check this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKPw6_1sv_w
Description is @ 1:09

EDIT: It is in the BTR. I just checked. The word Porsche is mentioned four times along with 911, 930 and Turbo.

Anyway The Turn10 guy :P
Turn10 made a Deal with EA and Porsche.
