^ Those weren't meant to be flames but now that you mention it, it does sort of look like that.

Still surprised by the outcome of the BMW race. How I did that, I'll never find out. I stalled out on the C5.R race, didn't do something right with the gas/clutch marriage. Then I stalled again in 2nd!

I stalled first too. That was fun oval racing with those cars.

Well, that race was sponsored by Texaco.... ;)

Still can't get my head round how fast crispy was...

I know, it's not like we had any really bad mistakes that allowed him to catch up.

It was like 1000 meters. :dopey:

Actually I think it was just over 2000!

Ladies and gentlemen, I have now shared with you officially the fastest car in the world! And it's a Sierra! (see autoX leaderboards)

edit: Well technically this isn't the car, since it's a bought paint job and I can't share the real car, but it's a copy of it. At least the setup is my home recipe! :)

Hey guys, I just added 3 new cars to the club garage. One is a S class race tuned IS350 (complete with a horribly made livery) and the other 2; a BMW Z4 and IS-F, are A Class race tuned as well. I'd like for someone to test them, because I spent almost 1 1/2 hours tuning them, and spent the most on the IS-F.
Thanks!

That might be a good post to spark some conversation in the thread Turbowagon started. http://www.forzaplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=649

Well sorry I missed yesterday's racing boys, I got caught up in MW3:guilty: Oh and just a question... If I did a Forza car soccer tournament, how many of you would be interested in joining?

And ThatMan; I got bit of work cut out since Eric is giving me hard time with the AutoX events, which are my new favorite! Proper hate-love thing. But don't ya worry, I'll be after your scores in no time... :dopey:

Thanks Chris, great pictures! Still can't get my head round how fast crispy was... And what a shame ThatMan dropped out/had to go! I think the race would have been even more intense with him leading the pack. You can see him pass me in those pictures, as I am running the first corner wide.

And OK, I was quite close to him when he dropped, but it wasn't fun going past like that! :D

Ahh, I was wondering what happened to you. I was like... What the 🤬 , He just gave up the lead. Next couple weeks i'm going to switch up the times and one of them I will make it a bit earlier. ;)
Good:lol:

UPS has my wheel updated to Out for Delivery......can't wait to finally get back to racing both with a wheel and the club.

That's awesome Jimbo!! You must be stoked!!

I just got the RROD again this morning. I did the overheat trick again just before leaving for work. I'm not sure how much longer this console is going to hold up. I may need one of our co-leaders to back me up this Saturday in case I can't host it for obvious reasons.

If there wasn't half a planet between us, I'd fix your's too! :indifferent:

Well, my wheel is here and set up. Such a difference coming from the MS wheel. Also the addition of the clutch (pedal) throws me off since I am used to pressing the ''B'' button from before. I still find myself pushing ''B'', LOL.

As for Saturday Chris, I will be able to cover, just let me know......I think it's time to treat yourself to an early Xmas gift, wink wink!

Thanks bro. That would be cool if we all lived around the corner from each other. I'd have FPM club parties at my place every weekend!!

Thanks Jimbo. 👍 I gues we will just do like last time. Just take a quick peek and see if i'm on 10-15 minutes before 6pm est. If you see me on then all is good. If not then I'm going to need you to host.

I wish I had the money for another console but at the moment I don't. If it gets really bad where I can't even play it then I will try one of the fixes on youtube. Most notably either this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5axYHeG4Xeo or this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiXwA9T26W4.

I would like to know what significance taking a heat gun to the motherboard of an Xbox does. I would think reapplying the thermal paste and resecuring the heat syncs with those screws and neoprene washers would do the trick.

Hope it works out for you Chris.

Thanks. I'm probably going to do everything except the heat gun. I found tons of kits on eBay that come with the screws washers and thermal paste. Next payday i'm buying one. Hopefully the xbox holds up until then. I think it will.

Vintage racing=happy GTMail

I remembered your request from awhile back. I figured you would like that. ;)

Chris, I really suggest you ditch those x-clamps, they aren't a proper way to fasten anything to anything..! :D Replace them mith 8x m8 bolts and washers and you'll get the heat sinks on much sturdier and with an even force applied to every corner.

And Jump_Ace, the heat gunning is to basically mimic reflowing the chips, which is also done with hot air, even though much more accurately. It is to melt the micro cracks in the solder balls attaching the chips to the motherboard back together. :)

My xbox isn't working at all now. :( I do the overheat trick and it still gives me the RROD immediately when trying to turn it on after the cool down. I just ordered this http://www.ebay.com/itm/33062939764...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_882wt_1270 Wish me luck.

Unfortunately it won't be heating enough with the heatsinks on and without heatgunning or some smarter method... :/ the bolts might buy you time by pressing the cracks together, but if you want it to work properly you have to heat it properly before assembly. The video I posted is a good "poor man's guide"! It is a bit of work but you don't have to take it apart again after an hour of playing if you do it properly! :) Just make sure you don't cut corners in the isolating-part or you'll burn the caps and and other sensitive parts!

Also, if you hadnt already, put the thing on its side and keep it there. Better airflow in-case you don't already do that.

Finished just playing Rock Band, TRIED to play some Avenged Sevenfold, and whaddauknow, there's A Man Hamster lurking on those leaderboards as well if I read properly! :D

Too bad the race is so late this weekend, I think I won't make it :( But maybe next week!

edit: BTW Chris, did you get your xbox working already? :)

No, still waiting on the repair kit I ordered Monday night off eBay. I have the console apart and processors and heat sinks cleaned and ready to go. I'm hoping to get the kit Friday so I can race Saturday.

Yeah, so?:odd:

But yeah, with the race at 6pm hopefully there is still a good turn out!:)

Ah okay, thanks Forcone.

Jerome

Just in case anyone is curious, here are the current standings as of 4:10 EST for the qualifying run.
