FPM: Championship Season 3 planning

Going to have to race some of my B class cars this weekend to see which one I want to go with......I hope my mustang (not King Cobra) works out for me
 
I also had a few other cars I was interested in. How lenient are you with car changes? If you want us to stick with our original choice I'm fine with that though.

You can still change. However once we have started the season you are stuck in the car you chose. Just try not to change it the day before our first race.


Anyone up for some testing tomorrow at 1pm est (our normal race time)??

No prob. If I have to, I can set the other cars as AI and try it myself if nobody can join.
 
I might be able to get on tomorrow morning. I'll post here later tonight if I can confirm that.

I'm not to sure how this S14 is going to fare. Its not slow but man it kind of seems like an underdog compared to some cars in B class lol. I'm going to stick with it though.

Well I'm hoping everyone picks cars that they like and not hell bent on trying to find the fastest car left after the removal of the current LB cars... That being said I would still make sure it's at least competitive.

Yeah I have a few cars set up that I would like to try tomorrow if I can get on. I love the feel of the S14, but like you said, I just need to see if it will atleast hold up.

@ Chris, I think it is #26. There's also the streetversion but I mean tue race version. It's stock in R2. Never driven the car :lol: but I like the agressive look :D

Looks good. I don't see any big advantages, numbers wise... 9.2 acceleration is pretty stout but i'm sure it's pretty comparable to other R2 cars.
 
I have an idea but I'm not sure how we can make it work. I think we should make our cars available for everyone to compare against their own cars....after the track is announced for that week we should put our cars in the club garage built/tuned for that week's race to make sure nobody has a clear advantage. If you can't lap within 1 second of your fastest lap in your car vs. mine and vice versa, then we would have to figure out how to even things out. Does this make sense? In some cases it could just come down to the build/tune and not because one car is better than the next. I'd hate to be penalized for using a certain car when it just came down to you having a poorly built/tuned car....driver skill is a whole different animal though. :confused:

I was just thinking out loud. I just know from experience, you can build a car 5 different ways and throw the same tune on it but one build will be much faster or slower, even though the PI is the same. No big deal....we should keep things as simple as possible anyway. :)

Just have fun. Don't take anything to personal and try and race as clean as possible. Don't be afraid to voice your opinion.
 
@Wiggs...if most people are like me when the track is announced Sunday it will take me till Thursday/Friday of that week to sit down and get a tune/qualify...We are not all Tune Masters like yourself..:bowdown:
 
I want to change my car to the 98 Toyota Supra. I just feel in love. This one will be final.
 
Wiggs, I think a second is a little bit too close. My race pace last season was usually 2 seconds slower than Forcone/Fezz, if not more..

What do you guys think of shortening the season a bit. Say 8 races with the top 6 finishes counting?? Just seems like the seasons have gotten a bit tiring at the end. Also just in case this idea doesn't turn out to be the greatest. :o
 
We should do that. Last season was a little bit too long.

I'm going with the Porsche Chris.

Carlos, I didn't mean comparing your time to another driver to see if the cars were mores or less equal...I meant that I should be able to get within a second of my time driving somebody else's car. Forcone and Fezz are faster than most of us so they would always run faster times than we would, even in a worse car. Too complicated and too many factors to think about so we shouldn't worry about it. :)

How about the best 5 out of 8 races? I know I'll miss at least 2 or 3 races because of work.
 
10% bonus of your total points of you've done less than 6 races?

I'll let you know which car I'm using on Monday when I've had some time to test a few different cars. I want to make sure I pick something that's balanced enough to handle all types of tracks.
