Frequent renaming of threads

I have seen many times the MLP thread got frequently renamed. Are renaming threads frequently to gain attention allowed?

People remane threads for various reasons. The MLP/brony thread gets renamed a lot, but sometimes a thread is renamed cause of something going on in it then. I rename my GT4 Photomode thread every time I post a new batch of pics, perhaps this could part of the answer. But I'm not sure. Perhaps the novelty? It's there, so...

Many people use it for updates. For instance some Fanfics in the GT5 Race Reports always have their titles changed whenever a chapter comes out.

That's not why the MLP thread is renamed. It is done purely as an in-joke for the frequent posters, usually in response to some new thing that someone in the thread found (for example, this time was in response to a new Applejack image found on Ponibooru).



I asked the moderation staff if it was allowed under the context that I wanted to do it, and was told that so long as it still was clear what the thread was about it was okay. Whether that applies to people doing it for different reasons, such as to gain attention in the GT5 forum, I don't know.

I do it to my race series threads all the time, depending on what is going on. Changing race times, rule announcements, etc.

I only rename threads for announcements, as R1600Turbo said.

Generally, thread titles can be changed as things in the thread change a bit. Besides, the MLP thread is its own monster and not changing dramatically - you can still tell what it is.

Or is this just a thinly veiled attempt to complain about bronies?
