The place where I come from is pretty rough. Fireworks are illegal here but not in Norther Ireland so there is a ton of them in my school. I wouldn't ever let one off unless I knew how to or someone was supervising me. An other one went off today but no one got hurt and still no one got caught. Scary stuff.

One thing I've to ask, Andrew.. was your mum like this before your father passed? If she wasn't. Tell her that you're mourning as well, try and put across that you're both in this together.

She kind of was Daniel, I mean I've seen some crazy stuff throughout. I don't know, it's been primarily quiet and I'm fine with that.

Reason I'm talking is that in case anyone ever thought if I cared about grades as well. Well my Quarter 1 grades prove it.

Academic Algebra 1: 93% A? (I can't seem to check this one currently)
Freshman Seminar: 97% A
Aquatics: 89% B
French 1: 93% A
Honors English 9: 89% B

Very good by me, the Aquatics, well everyone has B's, only top-tier students have A's, and with English, I started with a C so I played catch up for half the Quarter.

Thing is at my school, the schedule changed for the new students this year, before the 4 core classes (Math, English, Science, Social Studies) would be taken all year. This year, the schedule was formed so that a full year course from last year could be taken in half of a year, so that there would never be a day in between classes, meaning forgotten information would decrease. The class time is longer, fine by me, I love a longer French class.

Oh, and I don't believe I myself am friends with Kirsten anymore. Nothing happened, I just don't talk to her and don't see her (and the FB photos of her making out with her boyfriend creep me out ) so I've decided this. Just in case anyone wanted to know what was going on there.

Lol good work on the grades. Just don't let me see Kirsten's photos, mmmkay?
I just finished my Cambridge Exams last week. Now internals next

Well as long as you don't add her, you probably won't see them.

89% is a B? Here it's 50-59 is D, 60-69 C, 70-79 B, and 80-100 is A

92-100 is an A, 83-91 is a B. Grading scale is a bit strict. I'm just glad I did good.

According to IGSCE:
Below 40 - Fail, 40+ is an E, 50+ is a D, 60+ is a C, 70+ is a B, 80+ is an A and 90+ is an A*. I'm hoping for Bs all the way :D ('specially in maths, I wanna get at least a B to get into next year. Or I have to repeat this year with most of my grade :indiff:

Where I am, F is <60, it means failing, D is 60-69, also failing, C is 70-79, barely passing, B is 80-89, about average, and A is 90-100, where I am in every single class I'm in.

Good for you Rykon. Today was okay, just a regular day sans hanging with Gio/Kirsten etc., and other than that it was a remarkably fine day.

Wow. I also had my seat moved in English today, which means there's no one to talk to and I actually have to pay attention. Jeez, what do they want from me next? An A?

And for something nice. Today, a good 45 years ago, my father was born. I miss him dearly each day he isn't here, but I know part of him is helping me.

Bon anniversaire mon pere.

Oh, and I changed the name of the thread so it would make more sense.

Another normal day. Not much more excitement, remember the first few pages which had me going day by day? Well now I'm just trying to keep my sis away from some fake gangster pot smokers who are like 18. Idiot.

I feel bad. My Freshman Seminar teacher gave me the quiz I missed from last Thursday, and while she had good belief I'd A+ it, I failed miserably. I didn't even do half the thing, that's how dumb I feel. I mean she looked at it and all she had to say is Why? I felt awful, I do get to retake it but you know that feeling of stupidness.

Don't worry too much about failing. It's bad but not the end of the world. I had 2 tests in a day once and failed them both. :dopey:

70% is a First/A grade at Uni over here (which equals to a 3.8-4.0 GPA in your currency).
Depending on the system that has to be a 90 or 92 and above to be an A.

I think I found out why America appears to be slipping in education.

Well another day, and another day of my extensive research on the 4 great Greek Dramaists (Aeschylus, Aristophanes, Euripides, and Sophocles- look them up if you don't get it) and I've figured that this is one heck of a hard research. I hvae only 1 more day to get 2 more sources on Sophocles, 1 for Aeschylus, and all 3 for Aristophanes. My friends Zak and Wesley aren't making it easier.

Normal day. ;)

Ugh...anyone else here feel like they're in a rut?

Everyday, but that's life. You get up, go to work, come home, eat lunch, mess around for a couple hours and get up and do it all over again the next day.

Joey has a good point though I just stated that people tend to have the blues today.

True.

Today is weird, contemplating the fact of my lesson on Abraham Maslow's Theory of the Hierarchy of Needs. Due to the fact that my mind is way too into this stuff, I've gotten way deeper into anyone else, even proving part of it just by listening to my brother. Other than that, it was a fine day, and I also learned a new, hilariously fun word to say in French:

"phoque", which sounds like the f-word but with an o, and it means "seal", as in the animal.

I learnt that a while ago . Had some person from the French Embassy come to my school. Had afternoon tea with him and the Year 10s who are taking French next year :D

Thanks GT_P5 for inspiring me to not be a lazy ass and actually start to try and like school (i kinda fell off after 5th grade...) I use to be a good student like you before then... my fault tho ^_^.

Damn fancy advanced New Zealand schools! :D I just love the theory, I mean with all my understanding of the mind and its concepts, and the fact that there's not many people who have had there brain torn up as much as I have, I have some really long, super-accurate answers. And while everyone else was thinking of what level(s) they were on (see the siggy), I knew immediately. I'm somewhere between Belonging and Self-Actualization. Even though my teacher never shuts up on how we can't be near S-A, my life has given me so much that life itself, and devoting my darkest hours to help others, is good enough for me.

Go for it. Can't hurt, can it?

Today was alright, except for Algebra 1, not the work but my student teacher, who just seems so bitchy. Luckily me and Sam always have the "under-our-breath smart-ass" remarks. Aquatics has gotten a lot better with Kirsten out for the past week. Keeps my eyes averted from...yeah you get my point. Lately I've just been working on getting acquainted with some new people. I feel like "the silence was better than having a nice conversation."

I also decided today that I probably won't be going to a technical school, despite the opportunities, there are too many classes I want/need before these 4 years end, and VoTech schools don't allow any other electives.
