Friday Rockets 20:30-21:30 BST Congratulations Champion EranFinished

Just realised that I missed the round today (or yesterday, as it's actually past midnight). Sorry about that, I was working on a course maker height editor, and time just flew by...

First race was EPIC, everyone kept it together and the 5-way battle from start to finish was truly awesome! :dopey: The main race was nearly as great, only hampered by a slip up of me before the tight kink after the first tunnel, but the fight with Sick for the last laps was amazing! It's a shame the Rockets are almost over and i have missed most races.:ouch: Looking forward for more of that stuff!

It was a really good meeting in both the Cobras and Rockets at Trial Mountain - we will definitely use that track again.

Hello gents, I'm sorry about this, but I'm crocked for racing at all for the next few weeks. Had a disc removed from my neck on Monday and I'm under orders to keep it still and relaxed for........... six to eight weeks! What!!!!?

Anyway, the wheel's out of the question, but I had a run using the controller with the Racers Reunited guys last night, and it's just not possible. I can't believe how pumped up and tense I get when racing, and my neck ached like hell after only a short while. It would be stupid to risk doing any damage, so I'm out for the foreseeable. (Might pop in to spectate though, if there's room.)

Cheers, Zo.

Sorry to hear that Zo - you must put your health first and do whatever the Doctor says to get the best possible recovery. I'm sure there will be space to spectate on Wednesdays and Fridays as people seem to be inexorably drifting off to other games. Come back when you are fit and well.

As well as the main prizes (Frank Gardner Ford Escort replica's) there are a few other prizes which can be awarded at the Hosts discretion so if you do come back you could still be in line for a prize.

Friday Rockets Championship Points and Final Round Preview

The championship couldn't be closer! Eran missed Round 10 and as a result Simba has moved into 1st place on the chart, however after deduction of the lowest scoring round Simba loses 8 points taking him to 148 just 1 point ahead of Eran. If they finish tied on points after deduction of one round, Simba will take the title on countback of wins. Simba, Pimiki and Jjac have each scored two wins while Eran has scored one win so far. To clinch the title Eran needs to score 2 points higher in tonights race than Simba. While Simba needs to score a minimum of 1 point less than Eran.

Everyone should go for the win or their best possible result, but please take extra care when driving near Eran and Simba as they are fighting for the title.

Sadly Zolon is no longer in the title chase due to his season ending surgery.

IfAndOr looks to have 4th sewn up, but the battle for 5th and the remaining places rages strongly!

Good luck to all racers tonight!

If anyone wants to join this series - even though it is the last round we should have a space for you and you will have guaranteed yourself a slot on the grid for the next Friday Series which will be even more exciting because it features fantastic prizes!

Apologies to all racers, but due to a family member being admitted to hospital today I might have to leave the meeting if there is news / phone call. If so please continue with the meeting in my absence.
My condolences to you, Sick.

Anyways, I won't be making it today.

Friday Rockets Final Round

Congratulations to Eran on his Championship win. Also Simbalora Vice-Champion and Zolon who claimed third spot despite missing three rounds - get well soon Zolon.

The final positions after the deduction of the lowest scoring round are given in the table below:

I think this series has been a great success because the car is so enjoyable to drive so I hope the Rocket returns in Gran Turismo Sport or GT7. I would like to thank all the Stewards and Racers who took part and particularly IfAndOr and Emotional Rekz who helped test the car and took photos at tonights track, what feels like a long time ago. I look forward to catching up with Emotional Rekz again after we have switched to the PS4.

Apologies from me for bumping the back of a couple of cars on lap one of the qualification race - I forgot that we were using the short track layout so braked too late!

Good luck to everyone in the next Friday Series - Boss 302 - I hope it is as enjoyable as this one. NB I haven't scored a Team result for the Cobras or Rockets Championships, but I hope you don't mind.

PS - as well as a prize for winning the next championship (the Frank Gardner Ford Escort Twin Cam BSCC winning replica), there will be a prize for attending the most rounds - the names of any racers who attend all the rounds will be put in a hat and one will be drawn out for a special prize (note the championship winner will be excluded from the attendance prize).

Sick

Really sorry to hear your news. I hope your family member makes a speedy recovery.

Had a fantastic time with the rockets. I normally don't like red bull ring but the short circuit provided lots of battles. I thought I'd never get past you sick as you defend the racing line so well and it was only because of a small mistake I could pass.

Thanks for a great series. And it was great to race with everyone again. I will definitely try to join your next one.

Thanks Sutsagrd - Daughter had an allergic reaction, but is ok now.

Excellent news. More important than the racing.

Don't feel you have to hold the races Sick, we all understand that real life incidents are more important than GT. If there's a problem and there isn't a race there's always next week untouched. (That's a lot of there's!)

Race report: My race was fairly uneventful.

Congratulations to Eran for the championship win. 👍

Very glad she's ok. I echo Pauls comment. Real life first.

Sorry I didn't say this earlier as well as this...Congratulations Eran for dual championship winner.
Well done to Simba and the other amazingly fast racers.
