Well.....unknown mate. @Furinkazen is such a bloody killjoy by saying "its not official". If I had not done that interview then Joe would still be an interview virgin

He lost it now

I WAS JOKING. GET A NEW HUMOUR TRACKER.

And someone can tell me how to calculate the inertia force on a damn car you will get a +10 pt bonus. ;)

The mass of a body determines the momentum

of the body at given velocity

; it is a proportionality factor in the formula:

c53f5ca8cc45c8f9d145537f63caa343.png

The factor m is referred to as inertial mass.

But mass, as related to the 'inertia' of a body, can also be defined by the formula:

91e943789905fa8f4f3d298b4f37a311.png

Here, F is force, m is inertial mass, and a is acceleration.

By this formula, the greater its mass, the less a body accelerates under given force. Masses
6f8f57715090da2632453988d9a1501b.png
defined by formula (1) and (2) are equal because formula (2) is a consequence of formula (1) if mass does not depend on time and velocity. Thus, "mass is the quantitative or numerical measure of body’s inertia, that is of its resistance to being accelerated".

This meaning of a body's inertia therefore is altered from the popular meaning as "a tendency to maintain momentum" to a description of the measure of how difficult it is to change the velocity of a body. But it is consistent with the fact that motion in one reference frame can disappear in another, so it is the change in velocity that is important.

Oh and @Furinkazen I've had a humour bypass

Senior, you got a PM :p

Anyway if anyone does want to contribute interviews, be my guest.

I don't care if the interview is from the series leader or a private source sponsored by an energy drink, as long as it's an interview. :p

THE SUPER OFFICIAL INTERVIEW OF CARBONOX BROUGHT TO YOU BY RED BULL

So Carb, What made you decide to do TOCA?

The close racing I guess. I remember when I first had a peek at the TOCA S2 thread, there had been 8 winners in the first 9 races. I didn't even know such a thing could happen in online racing, with the fast and slow usually being so separated. But miracles can happen with the simple inclusion of reverse grids. ;)

If you're talking this season, well, I just want to have something to do. :D

What car are you driving?

@neljack's sister Renault Megane. It's an epic car with an epic name. But there's another reason, namely the fact that I can get more out of that car than, say, something with good handling but bad straightline speed. I'm not that good at making those corners, so it's better to make sure I at least have the straightline advantage. :D

What's your favourite cheese?

I'm not actually too fond of cheese. Or energy drinks either, as a matter of fact.

What are your plans for the season?

Not DNQ'ing, DNF'ing or DNS'ing a single time.

What do you think of Furinkazen, the TOCA 'over-lord'?

I think it'd be scary if he was in power alone, without any stewards around.

Just saying.

Who is your team-mate and why isn't it Furi?

I already said I don't have one. People don't love penguins like they used to. :irked:

You've been in TOCA for a lot of seasons, why haven't you won it?

Ah, Lukey-pie, there are more important things in life than just winning. Didn't some wise guy once say participation is more important than winning? :dopey:

...Unfortunately, many of the drivers I've raced have quite the opposite attitude. Some even take their driving style straight off a 3-time F1 champion who I shall not name.

If you had to fight off either 50 duck-sized horses or 1 horse-sized duck, which would you pick?

50 duck-sized horses for the pure comedy. I could just imagine each of them is a toddler throwing a tantrum and I'd get more power to the punches / kicks.

Why don't you use your mic in lobbies?

Mic? What mic? I don't see any mic. You must be imagining this whole mic deal.

What was Furi talking about in that Skype chat earlier?

Something so boring I left voluntarily. I guess it had something to do with physics, but not video game physics, which is why it was boring.

Closing thoughts?

Why, out of all people, did YOU, Lukey-pie, have to be the one interviewing me?!

100% unofficial

The camber is broken, it only models less initial grip and just removes cornering grip the more you add. That's why I was trying to dial out understeer with mad rear camber.

You'd be better off tuning it out conventionally first. That way you're altering the balance of the car without drastically changing its overall grip.

I did, but I could only marginally improve lap times over the hard suspension package (which has pretty good spring rates IMO). I shall continue to experiment however...

IRL of course camber forms a constituent part of vehicle set up, but since it just reduces grip in GT6 I think it's best to get everything else set up first, until, of course, they fix it. 👍

Of course none of this is relevant in ToCA 10.

I'm not even running either.

But suspension (and steering) geometry are just mind boggling. :boggled:
GT, watching motorsport and racing RC cars taught me everything about geometry. It's like the best physics/maths lesson ever.

On another note, i've given up testing for the time being. I'm quite comfortable with my pace, and i've got a fluorescent reddish/pink Megane Trophy calling me every time I go on the game.

And most of it is trial and error and compromise.
