So what does this actually mean for the ones not locked in?

They have to pre-qualify, the fastest 4 go through, but drivers who have missed out can be re-admitted if any of the top 12 don't show up, starting with whoever placed 5th, then 6th, etc.

Looks like i'll have to pick up my pace then!

Pretty much you'll have a qualifying session against all the people in yellow and then the fastest 4 'yellows' will get to race against the 12 'greens'. Then for the next round onwards it will be the top 12 in the championship who are locked in and everyone else will have to Quali in. Simples really.

The RPM Press Office conducted an interview with JoeOfTheFire about ToCA 10, GT6 and the team he is now in, then handed it to FlyingFox for publication. Here is what he had to say:

Well Joe, you’re back for ToCA 10 on GT6. What are your thoughts for the forthcoming season?
It's looking like it'll be a good season. We've got a solid lineup of drivers for this season, and some good new tracks such as Brands Hatch and Silverstone. The cars are close in pace as well (other than the BMW, which is very hard to drive for the first few laps. Once its tyres are warm enough it outpaces the field)

How do you rate the physics engine in GT6?
It's certainly an improvement on GT5. It's a shame you still can't roll online, but everything else seems pretty good. Tyres show a better progression from blue-white-yellow-red when stressed and cars react more to curbs.

I see you’re teamed up with FlyingFox. We know he’s not the fastest driver on GTP so how are you feeling about that?
Should be absolutely fine. In WSC he's shown that he's steady and consistant with his pace results, and rarely causes any incidents (ignoring the TOCA test at Silverstone last night ;))

You are racing under the RPM banner, does this affect your strategy in any way?
Instead of "ramming", I'll be "bumpdrafting" :sly:

How do you rate the opposition this season?
I think that this season's drivers will make the championships closer than normal. I'd normally be expecting a top 4 championship position, but this season I'm looking at the top 6.

There are some new tracks making an appearance in ToCA 10, are you looking forward to racing them for the first time?
I'm mostly looking forward to Brands Hatch, as it's the closest track to me and I've been there before. I'll be going a few times this year too hopefully. The high speeds of Willow suit the Ford quite nicely, so that should be a good one. Silverstone has a nice mix of low and high speed sections. As for Ascari, I like it apart from the corner after the pit exit.

Furi has taken away adjustable suspension and simplified things a bit. Do you prefer this type of set-up where it tests the driver more?
I much prefer this lack of tuning, where it's not about who has the best car and setup combination. Instead the cars are all very close and it's all down to the driving.

Any other thoughts?
I like your avatar :)

Joe, Thank you very much for your time.

Interview me!
I tried a proper touring car spec setup this morning, complete with 5 degree rear camber, and I only managed a best of 47.7 at Brands. I was quite surprised how nice this hard suspension package is, considering you can't do anything with it. And for some reason, my car feels a lot slower than last night. Consistency is definitely something I need to work on. And for some reason I keep going back to a 3/1 BB, it's better than anything else i've tried so far. 2/1 makes it jittery, and a 4/2 works at Willow for some reason. It did help me to get on 2 wheels a lot though :D.

Are there any tests being conducted tonight?

Blimey Joe did you say all that you've always been so quiet.:p

You'll Need more camber if you're going for a touring car set up than 5 degrees

I was reading ex-BTCC engineers' posts on the subject, and they said 3-5 negative depending on conditions. The Team HARD Insignia has nowhere near that amount thought, that looks 1.8 - 2.2 to me. NGTC cars don't run anywhere near the amount of camber S2000's have done in the past though.

These STCC C30's look to be nearer 6 though. The rear toe-in is also visible on the second image.

I have an RC car camber gauge, that is more precise that a protractor. It seems like the rear of S2000 cars are some kind of one-off in the motorsport world camber-wise, i've honestly not come across any other cars that run anywhere near 5 degrees neg.

Wrong NGTC pic

More than 5 degrees neg on these.

Generally I have run in ToCA anything between 0.7 - 3.2 degrees of camber on the fronts.

I meant on the rear ;).
And that's about 4.5 neg. My eyes have become camber and toe gauges, help me!

Please keep it as unmodifiable suspension from now on. It's more about the driver now instead of the driver setup combo
