Loads of 3 wide action tonight

This 3-wide action as you call it was created by you divebombing @gtpanoz and sending his car against mine mid-corner... and with that you were able to pass us both before T1 (nice driving indeed)

And here you divebombed @hsv010 and as you went wide you rammed @Scaniabebe off-track... again gaining two positions ilegally...

Sorry about having an endless amount of questions, but am I correct in saying that WSC VII will begin right after ToCa10
ends?

In race 2 I was only getting time gaps at the end of the lap but for races 1 and 3 it was fine for some reason

ToCA10 is saturdays, WSC is sundays :)

Didn't dive bomb anyone in those  proper braking was done and i like how you skipped the one of you pushing me into scania ;)

Uh-oh. Looks like GT-O competition to me. But how is that a bad thing? It's not! Hopefully I'll be able to compete in
the GT-P either later in the season or the next one, though. As an exception, could you allow the Chaparral 2D?
It is one of the two Prototypes that isn't a sloppy-handler(Corvette Stingray Race Car)that I can afford.

No they are not in, and we'll discuss that when thread opens within the week :)

Okay, I'm signing up. Put me in the 15th slot. I will post all other information regarding my team name, car, wheels, and
color by next weekend, hopefully in time for the race. Also, what time is it where you are, Furi?

Sorry I took so long to reply, but had to turn the PS back on in order to take these photos...

One can easily notice HSV braked at the limit to make the corner without going wide and how late you braked in comparison (way too late actually), and what came of it...

Here you can use that red patch beside the cobblestones (the one with the weird arrow pointing at) to check again how late you braked compared to the car in front of you, although in this case you could have avoided making contact, yet you chose to force your way past Panoz (confirmed by the fact you have half your car riding the kerb, nowhere near a proper racing line)

7.20pm for Q1.

Be prepared because I'm about to ask you a huge favor. For me, I have a tough schedule on sundays and it would be great if you held the WSC on saturdays. Although it is possible for me to race in the WSC on sundays it would be much more convenient if you held the WSC on saturdays. Think of it this way: It is not a drastic change if you inform everyone
about the switch. And you don't really even have to switch, just hold the WSC on saturdays once ToCa ends. I know
you probably prefer your way because you have been using that schedule for so long, please at least consider the possibilities. Nobody will be left behind if you inform everybody. ;)

WSC is always sundays. It's tradition. ToCA11 won't be long after ToCA10.

Quite selective when you've skipped the parts when both of them moved over in the braking areas making contact with me pushing at those angles :) and you still didn't explain you pushing me into scania.

Don't see why your still going over it as furi's dealt with it and as jason bright did, build a bridge.

Let me have a go:
Nürburgring is a peculiar track insofar as it doesn't really reward cornering speed in traffic. It's sort of a stop-and-go track, although it doesn't feel like it. That's why some people that were fast on a single lap had trouble in the races, because their cars were fast on the wrong part of the track. I, for instance, found it very hard to get past almost all cars, because most others are faster down the straight. At the same time I had to queue behind them in the corners, once I caught up with someone. The Range Rover is also quite op'ed now as particularly race one showed. AMD went off twice while in the lead, fell back behind gkm & me, and easily passed us again like it was nothing. If he hadn't gone off, he probably would have won by at least 10 seconds. The RR has torque and grip coming out of the turns, it's not funny anymore. And people were saying the Honda was op'ed.

I did say so:
It's comparatively slow in a straight line for sure. But it makes it up easily in the corners and on sheer consistency. 👍 Best car in the series IMO.

It was the fastest in my testing at Brands Hatch Indy. However it does lose out at the faster tracks.

Here's a small lesson in racing logic, because a few of you certainly need it.

We'll make up a turn for this exercise in thought. Note its similarity to turn 1 at the 'Ring.

Now, the racing line for this turn is pretty simple: brake on the outside, turn in, clip the apex, power out. However, being the first turn of the track, there is extra room to the inside. The red car will show us the racing line.

EJRgaSz.png

Now the red car goes to do this in the race. However, there is a very impatient driver in the blue car behind him. The blue driver decides that it would be a good idea to force a move up the inside. Because the red car turns in to the apex, the cars make contact.

L1pW6FY.png

If the blue driver were more patient, they would realize that it is best to follow the red car's line, and perhaps try to gain an advantage exiting in order to minimize the time lost for both drivers in the pass attempt.

X8uaeqr.png

I feel like this was one of the biggest problems today. If someone tries to take the racing line, they have one or more cars decide it's time to make a move. This just ends up costing everyone time, making a frustrating race for all parties involved. Be patient and take time to set up moves. If you want people to race you cleanly, race them cleanly. It's the golden rule.

Flawless paint skills. 👍

It depends on the driver really. Some try to pass but end up divebombing they didn't get penalized because they probably at least showed some effort in trying to avoid the other car alongside instead of just barging through.

I think divebombing is my number one concern at the minute. With the lines I was taking last night, which are my preferred lines, far too many people came from way back and stuck it up the inside.

I'm being perfectly honest here, but I couldn't believe how far back that Rangie was coming from last night. I made up 2 positions from that, because not only did @Scaniabebe fly off the track, but @Holdenhsvgtsr couldn't even get it slowed afterwards. The worst bit? I'm seeing it happen every week.

I'm not claiming to be the cleanest of drivers myself, but I would never be stupid enough to think making a move from that far back would work.

EDIT - Oh my god I didn't get points for once

@snowgt +3pts. You're an ex-steward, one of the fastest in the championship and yet you feel need to to try and wreck someone due to them sliding into you in an overtake? Snow, not like you to do this, and I could make some kind of Austrian related joke about it, but I'd have to shout Lauda....

I will not argue about this, but in that race I think I got rear-ended twice before someone pushed himself past in T1, and I must say that just marked the end of my patience. If people just stick their nose in and think 'oh, he's gonna yield the corner to avoid contact anyway', well, I'm gonna stick my nose in as well, and I'm gonna slam the door in your face, if the corner is mine according to the OLRs. If you don't feel bound to avoiding contact, I certainly won't either.

Please note, that I don't like that kind of driving, but it's a kind of reap-what-you-sow kind of thing. Unfortunately the wide corner entries at GP/D promote that kind of driving - it's not the first time I've had similar experiences there.

And the biggest problem is, I was unable to do anything about that Range Rover because of its pure size - and it had pushed me off into the dirt! I mean, who's the one who's fighting for a Championship? :P

Saying that Snow, I apologize about rear ending you on Lap 6, Race 2 - I went to brake at the normal time for the chicane and just lost all brakes! :scared:

Btw Furi, when will we see the results now that half the grid have got penalties? :irked:

So here's how yesterday went for me...

R1- One of the best and most fun races I've had. There was a little incident on lap 7 with Orama and Joe (I think it was them but don't quote me on it) then the race settled down into a fight between me, Orama and Yera in the last few laps. I benefited from Snow's crash and took 3rd 👍

R2- I honestly don't know what some people were thinking on lap 1. I got pushed off track 3 times, first at the corner before the back straight, then in trying to avoid a spinning Yera, got pushed off at the chicane, and then again at the final corner. I spent half the race on my own before catching a few people and finishing 10th

R3- From the outset it looked like this race had podium potential. In front of me were the Ford's who were slow around there, and a couple RWD's who would take some time for the tires to get up to temp, but fate had to be cruel and I got some connection problems. :banghead: Out of curiosity, what were the R3 results?

Also Furi, check the replay, I didn't spin Nin in R2, he spun on his own and was just near me. He even said in the chat that he spun trying to avoid me when I went wide at the corner.

The Range Rover really is huge and always reminds me what I hate about SUVs. You really don't see anything following close behind one.

By the way, regarding BoP: The RR had a best lap of 1:32.7 without any draft in race 1. That was a whopping 0.8 faster than anyone else.

Saying that Snow, I apologize about rear ending you on Lap 6, Race 2 - I went to brake at the normal time for the chicane and just lost all brakes! :scared:

Just watched the replay of race 2, and I think that incident must have been a different race. The one on lap 12 did cost me a chance to challenge the two leaders on the last lap though.

By the way, here is my list of incidents in that race 2…

Lap 1, Chicane: Lancer smashes into my back, almost turns me around
Lap 2, braking for T1: Lancer smashes into my back again.
Lap 3: Raceorama smashes into my back braking for the chicane
Lap 4: Me & Raceorama have several exchanges of paint. I assume that's what I got the points penalty for. (what really ticked me off, was that someone who smashes into me, then uses that 2 corners later to overtake - the overtake itself wasn't the point, the point is he wouldn't have been in the position to, had he not smashed into me before)
Lap 5: Raceorama dive-bombs me & Carb in T1, but miraculously misses us both.
Lap 6: Joe dive-bombs Carb & me in T1 (but yields places back after) 👍
Lap 12: Scania smashes into my back at the chicane, costing me any chance of catching up with CJ and Joe.

I'm not "pressing charges" against anyone, by the way. I just want to illustrate why I resorted to a more, shall we call it "robust" kind of driving.

As I said in the one you actually did move over in the braking area which upset the balance of the car and once the rangey is upset under brakes then it's hard to stop the 1300kg with the high centre.

I always signaled my intension by moving my car off line if people still move across under the braking area (which in yeras pictures they did both hsv and panoz but you can also see my car is "offline") then it shows the other drivers aren't using mirrors which they really should.

If I had someone who's car as one of the best brakes and seen them offline in my mirrors coming to a corner then I would leave room as would suspect they would be coming down the inside and I would try and get them on corner exit like what both snow and gkm did with me. The mirrors are there for a reason.

Oh and btw you didn't make up 2 slots on that move because you didn't get past me.

I think maybe the rangey should be +5 Bhp than +10 as it did seem abit quick although the fords were still leaving me for dead in the straights along with race and dks Honda.
