Nope. I've even tried wiping the hard drive, but now I'm getting a weird clicking noise during installation. If 1.08 won't work, I'll give up on GT6.

I seem to recall having this problem also with the update, I think the solution was to instantly press the ok button the second the update required message comes up (no idea why it should make a difference but it did:confused:). That's how I fixed it anyway:tup:

Yeah, I can't even press OK for that first screen. I'm just given an option to press O and abort the installation, but I only have a few seconds to do so before it starts anyway.

The second image. When you start Gt6 the black screen comes up and it says "An update is available bla bla bla..." then you are given the option to press ok (x button) to install it or cancel (O button) to not install it and load the game on the version you are currently on.

When you press ok it begins downloading and installing the update. With me my ps3 kept crashing like halfway through this process. This is the same problem you are having right?

How I fixed it: when the update available message comes up press ok instantly, like literally even before the text has loaded.

I have never had any problems with the GT6 install screen (the first pic), so if your ps3 is crashing during this on then I don't know how to help you sorry

Yeah should work, can you provide a screenshot of the update screen?

You might not be able to make out the "OK" bar, but I can't press it.
 
Ahh ok then you have a different problem to what I had. So it's crashing during that install process?
You aren't supposed to be able to press the ok button until the update has finished (blue bar is full).

What type of ps3 do you have? Many people have reported freezing/crashing issues with the older "fat" versions.
The only other thing I can suggest is delete all gt6 data and re-install from scratch.
 
No, it doesn't "crash" during the install process, it just doesn't seem to make any process, no matter how long I leave my PS3 alone for.

It's a 120GB "slim" model, BTW. I've had it since GT5 was launched.

Well that is a weird problem...

Try disabling your internet in PSN network settings then running it.
 
I've tried that, it didn't work.
 
Don't really know what else to suggest then sorry other than to delete the game update data and reinstall all the update versions from the beginning.
 
As for racing, what laps are you guys turning on the Big Willow track so far? Reason I ask is I'm likely to have a go at qualifying for next weeks races after having a look at my work schedule for next week. :D

There will be some people in the 1:18's. As most of those are pre-qualified, I think a 1:19 or even a 1:20 might be enough.
 
I expect my main tactic for overtaking to be: Wait for people to inevitably misjudge the last corner and get lost in the desert.
 
My main tactic for overtaking the Hondas will be: Press the pedal on the right.

My tactic is to watch all the lovely cars drive past me.

Then i'll continue being a broken animatronic shark, and doing shark business.

I think someone kidnapped Furi. The Furi we know and love wouldn't have came up with something this good.
