ToCA9 - and that was a fluke. Half the field was part timers, we had grids of barely 12 majority of the season.

Oh and errr, I got the tables to back things up about "3 or 4 people" winning.
9th season it was - and really, that time, a lot of people were getting great pace out of their cars, and the grids were damn near full for most of the early season. It was in the late stages that the number of winners decreased because some people were no longer showing up, and grid sizes plummeted.

Actually after Round #2...

Last season was best drivers in best car in the field, with best set up.

This season we actually got an equal BoP.

Even with that, no one won more than 3 races. I don't see that holding true this season.

Majority of that season part timers.

Smuffy for instance did 5 races out of 24 and was 12th

I also love how DNQ doesn't even matter as much because you get 10x times you would normally get...

How does that moralize everyone else to show up when losing each race is practically a guarantee? No way to fight back against those same guys when they practically have a second's advantage in any longer track...

I wouldn't be surprised if multiple triple wins occurred - just like last season's tales happen to show...

Now, I'm in all fairness advocating for a fair split... have some more aliens from WRS or wherever arrive and hold their own alien TOCA series, while the rest of us can show up each weekend (or on some of them at least) and have a nice, good time in a barrage of close races.

And how is the part-timer stuff even relevant?

I've done this long enough to know nothing is a given in this.

Yes, with SEVERAL drivers all of the same pace going for wins, not just Mole and Nin... that actually lessens the chances.

Well when only 7/8 people turn up EVERY week and half the grid are part timers coming in for a one off, winning and leaving, shows a real lack of depth in the grid.

EDIT:
Additional point - aliens are qualifying in this week, if they do qualify, that makes Q2 the following week more competitive.

I love how you automatically dismiss everyone else, including some rather rapid guys like @LancerEvo7 @cnd01 @hsv @Yeratel84
@LancerEvo7's best finish of last season, for instance, was 4th place on three occasions... Not saying he's slow, I know what he's like, but I really think that's one of many signs some people are too fast for this series.

No comment on the suggested split, then?

Oh please.... He's been equal to @Ninners and @Andil pre season..

Why comment on a silly idea?

Why are you being so deliberately patronizing? @Spurgy 777 and I definitely know why patronizing is bad. D:

Also, great, now that I paid full attention to Lloyd's post detailing his practice time, I'm reconsidering my attendance. In fact, maybe he can have my full-time "slot" in the series if he wants, not like I'm going to make the grid anytime soon with the current skewed line-up.

A steward just chucked me a proposal for ballast. Not a favourite of mine but if people are overly concerned... could be implemented for after saturday.

Well, following that reasoning, I'm an alien (4 wins last season), and should be booted from this series as well...

How come that points table looks so much better than the current ones? :)

Because I won with only one win on the very first round? :sly:

This always happens, everytime I join something. Everything explodes :p and things change :D

From a few months ago.

The 2014 ToCA Survey.

The second annual survey of ToCA Drivers has taken place giving them a chance to shape regulations for the next 12 months. Many thanks to @LancerEvo7 @CAMikaze @snowgt @Yeratel84 @Scaniabebe @chrisjohnson93 @gtpanoz @PatrisS136 @DK @xZAMGMarmite @AudiMan2011 @Ninners @hsv @nascarfan1400 for responding.

1: Should wet races return to ToCA?
14-1 to vote in favour. Probably be pre set and determined when season schedule is published. Might have to dust off the Spa wellingtons however.

2: Should success ballast be implemented?
A 10-3 vote in favour, yet I still feel it isn't a great idea artificially handicapping especially with two reverse grid races. I think having a couple very fast runaway drivers last season or two has tilted everyone in this direction. Also there is the argument of if weight can actually help your car handling.

3: Narrow down car manufacturers from 8 to 6?
Since ToCA7 (I think) we've had 8+ makes on the grid. This will change. From next season be just the six cars.

4: Qualifying - cut it down?
Mix of results with people suggesting that it should be cut down, or just Q1, or not at all. A hot lap was even mooted. I suggest from next season 10/10 sessions for tracks with a lap of under two minutes, and 15/15 for longer circuits. Would also require fixed pre set Qualifying times.

5: Night Race - return?
8 say yes, 3 say maybe, 2 say no. I say yes myself, expect a night race if a suitable circuit is found.

6: Bathurst - double points race?
Mixture of yes and no here, but 8-7 for No. I am split myself. However might spice this seasons races up...

7: 3 car teams - Yes Or No
Majority vote to no.

Also expect first ToCA13 news within 48 hours :)

The rain was thrown out by OP Audi and yourself snapped the camel's back for the weight ballast.

Ballast.... Also while noting people like to win when racing but what's winning unless your up against tough competition.

Not to mention 2 reverse races here already provide a decent chance to beat the faster drivers.

(I also dove in last round in S9 at Nurb to take a pole and win :p.)

Anyway the way I have always kept myself motivated since first starting on GTP is to always do my best. As long as I feel I have done that I am content no matter where I place but looking to faster guys to improve.

I can remember back in WSGTC I would be getting lapped by Mole and Aderrrm most races until I found my feet. I'm sure most people would get frustrated at that but that helped me get better. Point is the higher the competition the more fun it is. It makes those breakthrough races all the more satisfying.

Now on iRacing I'm doing it all over again and am still a ways off the fast guys. Anytime I'm lucky enough to be in a session with one I try and learn as much as possible to move forward. I'm also very much enjoying the new challenge :).

Honestly, I enjoy racing @Spurgy 777 and @Andil because they give me a goal. It's great to beat someone who is generally better than me. It helps me get better myself and that's what I think is fun about it. It makes the fewer wins I get that much better

You do seem to destroy the casual drivers rather regularly though...

Now, I'll be honest (this part is directed to everyone), even though there has now been change, I fear it won't help nearly enough to bring in the necessary field depth... and after sleeping through the night, I did decide to withdraw my entry, now that there's still time for FAS to bring in a new driver who actually cares about "racing" in a field of aliens.

Might still stick to test driving the car though...

"casual" drivers... Christ get a grip, I guess I'm too fast because in spec IROC I was able to match Yera yesterday? Also should I nickname you Dax V2 for rage quits?
What happens if you finish 8th-10th and are already at minimum weight?
No change.
