Take a race off the calendar and move subsequent events up a week?

So if somebody was to win 3 races and get 75kg, he wouldn't any of it until he finishes 8th?
Or is it not carried forward based on race results? Or is it championship position based at start each race weekend?

Top 3 get 25 after each race, so if somebody finishes in the top 3 three times they'd have 75kg, which is max that can be applied and they can't lose any of it until they finish 8th I believe. None is it is based on championship position.

Correct on all counts.

I miss read the bit at the top

"casual" drivers... Christ get a grip, I guess I'm too fast because in spec IROC I was able to match Yera yesterday? Also should I nickname you Dax V2 for rage quits?
Then maybe you could've filtered the entries. This series has become quite serious recently...

I think you're the serious one..
How about a guy who goes faster than Nin (at least on Media Day) in his first 15 minutes? I CBA to give a 🤬 to show up and actually "race" someone like that. To each their own.

You plainly forget the other 14 drivers then.

Think the ballast system is good!

For what it's worth: I have raced in some championships (Pure GT500 back in GT5) where there was a similar knock out qualifying system (one lap qualifier to determine if you made it into the main race or not). I could rarely get into the main room, and I sure as hell had no chance of winning, but it didn't make it any less fun! If I could come away with being slightly closer to the quicker guys after every weekend, that was progress for me. It depends what you're getting out of online racing - winning or progressing? I'm not the quickest but I'm happy to learn from those who are quicker whenever I can.

You're pretty quick though

Everyone knows I've never been the fastest but for me I've always been just wanting to enjoy my driving as I know I got a fairly Strong pace when I'm on form - IROC last night a prime example.

You're missing the fact though that I'm pretty much inherently a casual driver. I'm nowhere near dedicated enough to ever get near the pace of some people here, and with that, there's no progress in sight at the near future. Driving around with racers out of my league is a waste of time when I could rather have close battles with those I can compete with.

And those drivers comprise of like 85% of the entry.

I'm not as fast as you over a hot lap but I'm not complaining.

It's not racing if you don't qualify because you're expected to face multiple superaliens in the pre-Q.

 you're talking like they need to qualify every week

They will be locked in after this week (probably), so quali will be easier afterwards!

And the point I was making is I've not always been the quickest, but forced myself to learn and improve because of wanting to catch the quicker guys.

That's because you are in ToCA full time and cannot be knocked out.

Also by your own admittance in a convo to me last year that ballast does not work and can even make the car faster in some circumstances. Power cutting is the only way to truly curtail a run away success.

I really cannot see anyone who is not in the main table now, getting beyond pre-qualifying.

After the first race me, Lloyd, Nin and Mole will probably be locked in. So then you'll be qualifying in against the same people you normally would have been. And weight can't improve your lap times, especially when it can't be moved.

FTFY, and yes good point but as you know I'm not the fastest so it really remains to be seen how this pans out. Having said that I was only 2 tenths behind you in pre-qualifying at Brands Hatch

Tune in next Saturday when we find out if team CarbonFox or @Furinkazen really know what they are talking about.

Yeah, but there's probably going to be a few people stuck in pre-Q who don't need to be there. Believe me, I've been stuck there for half a season just for missing the first race of the season.

This is ToCA. Divebombing is bad enough as it is, we don't need people down on power trying to work through the field.

I reckon this will burn itself out into a storm in a teacup.

So who's Vettel? :P

Also nice to have lloydz racing as I have another benchmark to aim at. To get faster you need to race with faster people. Last season I had to put a lot of effort in to best mole in the championship (we were running identical setups). Not hooking up the best of laps in quali could mean starting behind him and that could set me back in the races. The gap at the end looked bigger than it should be as he was involved in more incidents than I was but he was generally quite close to me (and still is).

Think it was Monza where he set a faster time than me by 0.2 then I suddenly try really hard to beat his time and I end up improving on my best by 0.4 I think (turns out he was on a lower fuel load :lol). Having people to aim at makes you dig deeper to find more pace to match their laptimes.

That or you can complain and quit before having run a single racing lap...
