I'm in love with this 300SL. Handles great, accelerates great, brakes great, looks great and sounds great.

1st GT-O Am, 2nd GT-O overall.

An ya in next week. ;)

Few changes and tinkering with list for N24.

@R0ssingt0n you have permission to run a Mustang if you wish. Jaguar, BMW, Corvette all available as well and you would be GTO-PRO.

Will there be a spot available in GT-P if anyone wants it or does everyone have to stay put for now?

Spent pretty much the entire race with my mirrors full of Ferrari's

My fastest lap in practice was a 1.33.5 - still half a second off the GTO fastest but never got below 1.34 all night. Was extremely lucky to finish third in class thanks to other drivers making mistakes and getting away with no damage from being rear ended by the duck (again).

I said before the season began the Ferrari's had the tyre advantage but nobody battered an eyelid. So while Shelby could barely hang on to its 1 lap pace it just gets left in the dust playing the endurance game :nervous:

Alright mate, quite nice if you'd stop your persistent crusade of times when I tap the back of your car...

That 3 car battle of Panoz, Plux and Furi was pretty intense when they all try to get past you at the same time. Chaotic, but fun.

I don't mean offense, it's just my pet peeve having my race ruined by somebody else's mistakes

A) First time I had nowhere to go and you slowed after accelerating (at Indy) as we were both trying to avoid Nin's crash

B) Was a tiny tap and again your car didn't accelerate out of the corner and literally put my big toe on the pedal and it tapped your back bumper

Well that was like pulling teeth.

Firstly, Ryan. Bothers to show up, Qualifies, then as we are about to go on the parade lap he leaves the lobby lag bumping me, destroying the car and says he has to go somewhere leaving a perfectly good seat for someone else.

NOT IMPRESSED.

Now the Ferrari GTO.

I'm calling for this car to be banned for next season:

1) Its far to light. Lighter car = less fuel use and less tyre wear.
2) Fat tyres. The Tyres on this car are the same width as Oxfordshire. Wide tyres = more grip. Overkill by Ferrari.
3) It’s not a homologated car as the rest of the cars in the GTO class; it’s a pure racing car. It’s like me putting the C2 race car into this series. At 340 BHP (which is the same at the C2 I’m racing now) its 509PP. It would trash the opposition.

In the meantime I request something be done to even the odds.

GTO (Gran Turismo Omologata) a homologated car for racing

In racing series that are "production-based," meaning that the vehicles entered in the series are based on production vehicles for sale to the public, homologation requires not only compliance with a racing series' technical guidelines (for example, engine displacement, chassis construction, suspension design and such) but it often includes minimum levels of sales to ensure that vehicles are not designed and produced solely for racing in that series.

I agree with this, I'm not sure why Furi ever went away from the pure production class like on GT5. It worked great.

I remember when lurking around for some series around this time last year I remember visiting the WSC VI thread with the Miura's and the Alpine's.

Miura was an issue too. I nearly no-stopped Spa.

@Furinkazen I'm a little confused as to why I was sent to the grid at the start. I mean, I will willingly accept any penalties and the like but I'm not quite sure what that was about.

You had horrific lag, which damaged Fox as a result. Yera was also reporting it so I thought as a precaution it was best for you to go to the rear.

Fair enough. I will make sure to do a cache clearing and check my router out prior to next week's race. 👍 Oh and apologies Fox, of course it was all unintentional!

How unusual as this is the first I'm hearing of it with this new internet I have. It was a huge issue with the last one!

Would have been a hell of a race but noooooo. PD had a nervous breakdown of the PT battle for 2nd and decided to sacrifice 4 innocent souls to Kaz.

Possibly my most instinctive lap for overtaking in the last year or so

Possibly one of the best races I have ever had on GT6 up to then.

If the Ferrari GTO is wanted in the series, fine, put it in with a standard Shelby Daytona a de-tuned C2 race car and a tuned Alfa TZ2......and.......the GT-B class is born.

Hmmmm food for thought. We'll see how it pans out as the season goes along.

Need to test that "other" class anyway...

Well you had 9 on tyres when others had 7....

Do we really have to start with this after the first race, a race, the type of which is at one of the extremes of the season? Let's stick to the facts, shall we?

1) My GTO was at 7 with its tyres when I pitted and they sort of went off a cliff at about 30 laps. If others had 7, then it was even for them. The fact that I was so far ahead was primarily, because I didn't have the slightest problem the whole race. I went wide and through the grass exactly once. I don't think I ever had that little happen to me in any of the last 3 seasons I took part in WSC.

2) I was the only GTO at the top. To concoct a situation where the GTO's are dominating the field is unfounded, especially since the GTO is best suited to the twisty tracks. I said this all along, and I also said that OVERALL the cars are balanced. Since Furi put all the twisty tracks at the beginning of the calendar, you will have to wait for the ones better suited for your car. Which brings me to …

3) You're in the fastest car for Le Mans.

Fox, your rant against the GTO is all fine and well, you're entitled to your opinion after all, but the only thing that counts is lap times. Yes, it's the best in corners, but it's the slowest on straights and the differences between the cars are in the range of 0.5s per lap. And if it was so dominating, then it should have been with all 3 cars, especially on this track. And yet, the grid order was a mixed affair and Waffle was within 3 tenths in the SL, so I don't understand what you're on about. I understand you're lobbying to get your car boosted, but fact of the matter is, it already was, even with the risk that it might be overpowered at Le Mans.

And on a much more relaxed note, I ain't assessing a single thing till after N24.

My tyres went off the cliff at about 25 laps and were at 6's...

What lap time was GTO pole out of interest?
