**Takes note of strategies to use for the next race**

I think I might have a go at the next one.

Hm...well, I launch in first...it's easy to bog an ITR. Guess I'll try second gear launches.

Secondly, I didn't drift anywhere...I usually get my best times maintaining a clean racing line...dunno, something else to try. Of course, I always choose racing suspension, do you choose drift?

I only ran the race like 10 times, than I had to give up before my right hand went into spasms.

Oh yeah, I didn't cut any corners, either. :p

Well, I use racing suspension but couldn't help drifting around the first set of turns at the speed I was able to maintain... other than that it was clean.

As for 'cutting' corners, I'd say that what I did wasn't really cutting because I still had to take a good line and only went a little into the dirt. Also, I was under the impression from various other threads that riding the corners in such a manner was acceptable... especially at that last curve where bunches of time can be had!

Oh well, as before, I'll try to make Trial Mountain as clean as possible... pardon these posts Talentless, I guess we should be on the main page or something.

no, these are okay.

I consider that a report on the race.

Nah, I "fudge" some corners a bit (two wheel rule). Just givin' ya a hard time. :smilewink

Cool. I understand. I just felt bad (for a second) that other people may not have been taking advantage of that 'rule'.

Well, cheers to us for good times and we'll see everyone on Trial Mountain where now things might be more even... ;)

😈 *excellent* 😈

Where the hell has this thread been! Why didn't it show when I did a "New Posts" search?

Very. Has GTP's search function ever flipped out on you? I know it has for me a few times.

I've give this one a shot and see what these cars can do.
cough coughcoughundersteercoughcough cough
Bleeeeeuuuugh!

They aren't that bad, honest! Dunno about the search engine, to be honest I have only used it a couple of times!

going off topic. please cease

Ok, did my second race tonight. I hope everyone is under 5'25.--- for the final cause I ran a pretty bad race to get that!

Anyone else want to post approximate times to make things interesting... so we can push each other?

I just got sent a time under 5:25, I'm not going to say by how much though:D

Wow. Starting in second gear does work wonders!

I've gotten good at starting in first, so starting in second didn't do much for me.

risingson77, did it do a little?

Just thought I'd add, as I'll be submitting my time soon, I hope we're are all around 5'20... if not, run the race more times to pick up on where your loosing traction/speed, etc... or read the GT3/2 manual on driving

As for me, hope to get 5'19.0-- within the hour :D

Nope. i turned in a slower first lap, and the car did not keep up off the line nearly as well as a first gear launch.

:(

Well I only managed one evening at it and I've submitted. I was hoping to have another crack today, but my wife and son have decided to play Monsters Inc! :( I've only got a PS1 upstairs... might mess around on GT2, haven't done that for a while. :)

5:19.xxx !!!! :(

Just in case anyone cares and Mr. Pushrod doesn't get the results out soon, I didn't make it to 5'19 last night. :(

Thats not a bad thing, thats a good thing! :cheerful:

As for my status, I was going to try to improve my time today, but I had just previously did some runs with much faster cars on other tracks. So when I picked the FTO for Trial Mountain, it felt so much slower and I tried to push the car beyond its limits (kept smacking into the side of the mountain at the exit of the first tunnel  ) and couldn't manage to complete one lap. So I will submit my time after I get done with this post.

Ahh don't worry about me. From the looks of things, I shouldn't be much of a threat to your time.
