Sure that gets asked in every update thread. You are not alone in asking this. In the meanwhile, just live with it eventually you forget its there.

I literally couldn't see the road ahead at le mans in the nation's cup so ended up over shooting a corner and getting a penalty. Then tapping a wall on the way into the pits. It's really annoying!!! They should move it to the bottom right of the screen or somewhere it doesn't impede the drivers view. Plus include an option to take it off. Most drivers are well aware of what fuel they have left anyway, it's not even needed.

If you change (in the dash ) the view fom radar or tcs or timing to FUEL SET MENU ..the fuel warning disappears ...

I didn't know that. I'll try it next time. Thanks

Are you sure? I was looking at my fuel map most of the time in Nations (especially when the warning pops up so I know exactly how much I have) and it won't disappear

I noticeed it during tests in arcade mode (custom race) , making a simulation race, one or two weeks ago ..

I am assuming the OP is speaking of the red warning in the middle of the screen that is extremely annoying in bumper view? I am sure mine stays on even when I am in the fuel mixture screen because just the other day at Nurb GP track daily C I mistakenly filled my fuel for 4 laps instead of 5 laps and spent the last half of the race adjusting rich to lean and lean to rich, I also noted during that time as I was entering the last corner with the red warning display showing 0 laps of fuel remaining yet I was able to accelerate to the S/F line and hold off the car behind me.

Somebody at PD cannot count or do maths for ****.....
Stop for fuel ... add 10 laps worth of fuel and only get 6 laps out of that fuel...10 laps is 10 laps...
Where does "10 laps " suddenly become 6?

Fix that up please PD.

I dont want to have to turn down my mixture to get the 10 laps you claim I have in my car ...if I turn my mixture down I should get 14 laps out of the 10 laps worth of fuel I put in my car .

Learn from project cars 2 and do some things right for a change.

Were you short shifting or changing the fuel map to extend distance driven?? The game uses your fuel use before the stop to determine how, many laps you can go after refill. If you drove the first half of the race in fuel map 3 when you stop for fuel and it shows how many laps you are refilling for if you keep using fuel map 3, it assumes you will be using the same amount of fuel per lap before and after the stop. I have made this mistake many times.

It's barely any different from the predicted range in a road car - it predicts how far you will be able to go on the fuel you have based on your current driving (commonly in road cars it's your average fuel consumption over the last 100 miles). If you've got a gallon and you're doing 30mpg, the car thinks you can go 30 miles... and if you put nine more gallons in, it'll think you can go 300 miles. Should you then start absolutely caning it and doing 10mpg, the car will adjust its range prediction downwards - and you'll run out of fuel after 100 miles...

... but you still put nine gallons and 270 miles' worth of fuel in when you stopped.

@PhantomPS3 I think the only problem the laps remaining calculation has is it isn't brilliant at how the car becomes more economical as the fuel gets lower and the car lighter. This can lead to problems at shorter tracks. I think there was a race at Lago Maggiore Center where you had to take on more than it suggested to make it to the end. That was only out by about 1 lap though. I haven't ever seen it get it wrong to anything like 4 laps before, unless as already explained you go from fuel saving to revving out each gear.

I've always found the laps remaining calculation to be pretty accurate to be fair.

I think that's kinda what I said.

I think the game should calculate according to the setting you have when entering the pits .
I ran the stint in 3 to save some fuel and stretch my pit stop ...but switched back to 1 a few corners before pit entrance ..
I was then forced to run the rest of the race on 3 to make it to the end.

Surely that cannot be correct if I enter pits on level 1 and they give me 4 laps of fuel, I expect to get 4 laps driving on fuel mix 1.

Yet you've done almost no driving on FM1, so it has no data to determine what your fuel use would be at FM1. It only knows how you've been driving in the race so far, and - as with your real car - it bases its fuel economy calculation on that rolling average. Those last few corners will be part of it, certainly, but the rest of your race outweighs it.

The same applies if you drive vigorously and then decide to amble the rest of the race. You'll put in far more fuel than you need, because you were caning it and your rolling average fuel economy was poor.

It's best to do some practice first and determine what your gentle driving and your flat-out driving fuel economies are. Then you can plan your stop and refuel accordingly.

Also, don't use different fuel maps, just short shift. I only ever use a different fuel map on a rolling start at a track where the rolling start is stupid and the car is prone to power oversteer, because it limits maximum power and reduces the chance of me getting control from the AI and immediately caning it into the pit wall or through a chicane. Short shifting saves way more fuel.
