How can a car that should not be more than 300hp considered anything but low power?

Hmm. I guess my Chevy Silverado 2500 with a 366 V8 is low powered, then. :D

LOL... I guess you have a high hp car. Be happy!

I'm not the one who used to race the Ariel! Although I'm pretty sure I got the Cooper beat:tup:

You totally have the Cooper beat! AND the Atom... it was 'only' 220 :)

Under 200 horses? I personally find the CRZ a pretty enjoyable choice, not much power, but get it right and it handles pretty sweet, the Evora NSX and Z4Ma are all my favorite drivers cars, the Z4 just engages you like nothing else

For a full size truck most run between 290 & 330 hp, so your whopping 366HP in
a vehicle that weighs almost 6,000 lbs would be low powered.

The question was about "low" powered in a racing game that includes cars with 1544 hp. and that's why alot of us said GT300 class.

VW Beetle 1200. 'nuff said.

No no no. It's got a 366 cubic inch engine (6.0 liter). 300 horsepower. 3/4 ton truck.

Yeah, it's not fast. It's built for torque (power), not speed.

It's not low powered. It's got a low power:weight ratio, which is probably another subject entirely.

On the other hand, I've got an Acura RSX Type-S. Older model, puts out 200 horsepower. Would I want to use it to pull a trailer with a couple of cars on it? No.

It's "low powered." It's got low torque but a high power:weight ratio (relative to the truck). It's built for speed, not power.

I'll bet if I put the 366 from the Chevy in the Acura (surely that's physically impossible) I would end up with a slower vehicle than if I left the Acura alone. The weight of the engine and its slow, torquey revving would hamper the ability of the thing.

I guess the moral of the story is "power is what you make of it." ;)

The CR-Z is an awesome car that's not very powerful. It's the only hybrid I'd ever consider buying IRL. 👍

I'd say go for the Premium Nissan SILVIA spec-R AERO (S15) '02. GT Academy reminded me how much I used to love driving that car in stock form.

Or, try the Premium Toyota 86 GT '12.

I prefer to call it a "GT 86" though. I think GT is the only place I've seen it named as "86 GT".

Is there a car that handles Like a Dream but has a very low amount og horsepower?
I Think it would be a lot of fun to drive such a car!

Any race car is too much performance for what the OP is asking for. I think the "BUT" explains what he was looking for.

I would consider something normal like a Miata to be that. This is GT, not NFS.

lol A truck doesn't handle like a dream.

Agreed. The upper limit doesn't mean too much -- compared to a 1400 horsepower monster, a 550hp Ferrari is low-powered.
:)👍

Toyota SPRINTER TRUENO GT-APEX '83

One of the best.

I personally love the RUF yellow bird

Noone mentioned Toyota GT-86 yet?

At least 3 people already did, including you.

I personally love the RUF yellow bird

That's not low powered and while I do find it a lot of fun to drive, some people would consider driving it a "task" rather than "fun."

I agree on choices for the GT300 class Super GT/JGTC cars. They're undoubtedly a lot of fun to drive.

I personally find the GT 86 (that makes at least 4 mentions now), Suzuki Cappuccino (both normal and RM), Eunos Roadster (NA model), Nissan Leaf, and Nissan Silvia S15 to be seriously fun to drive cars when they're stock. All of them are still a ton of fun fun to drive when they're maxed out, too.

Plus, it doesn't handle like a dream. I bet that post was more of a, sorry to say, troll comment.

Nah, I'm not sorry. It's obvious it was.

I like the Lancia, almost impossible to spin it out thanks to 4WD, it has 200bhp though so dunno if that's too high for you.

Fun drive, not deadly.. Haha just joking with ya.. But besides that, like the profile name! Had it once :( I miss it.. Haha..

yay thanks for noticing - was my counterstrike name and tweeked for online poker, tbh I didn't notice your name till the comment 👍

You should check out the car of the week threads, we are picking a different car each week to tune and drive. Mostly older, less powerful cars that most will never try out. Some have turned out to be quite fun to drive!

A fun drive to me is something under 1300kg, under 500bhp and is FR drivetrain

The DMC DeLorean is 201hp & 1200kg, a nice looking ride and handles great. The RR drivetrain puts amazing traction on the drive wheels but it can get squirrely if you get too much on the throttle. I run mine with max horsepower, though, so I bet stock it handles a lot better.

I'm feeling the Spoon Integra and Honda Integra (RSX), I learned using a wheel with these cars. One more to mention, Mini Cooper, fun little car to drive.

I third daan's statement about the GT300 Class cars. They are quick, amazing pocket rockets. I would own if it was ever possible.

I love my dialed back Minolta. I reduced its power down to just over 50% and get it down near 650pp from a max tune. I love it because your peak power flattens out at like 450hp and you have access to it nearly 60% of the time.

Alfa Romeo GIULIA TZ2 carrozzata da ZAGATO CN.AR750106 ’65
Would probably qualify for the OP's request.
It handles TOO well really. :odd:
And it's a low power race car basically.

Daihatsu OFC-1 Concept '07. 💡
It handles fantastic and it's like 65-70hp when you buy it. :)

I think the Copen handles better. I think the OFC-1 has too much understeer... and I was never able to find a way to really tune that out.

Apparently a lot of people have a skewed sense of what "a very low amount of horsepower" is.

I was thinking the same thing.

Mini Cooper countryman; 200-400 hp; drives real smooth

400hp is NOT low hp.

THIS is low hp:

Though neither of those cars actually handle "nicely"... They're actually both a bit unstable.

Jaguar E-type

What on earth have you been smokin'?

I would add these as (unmodified) low power cars which handle nicely, but are fun.
Toyota CELICA 1600GT (TA22) ‘70
Honda S800 ‘66
Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto '66
Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R ‘69
Nissan SKYLINE HT 2000GT-R (KPGC10) '70

(Bearing in mind disclosure: I founded the Vintage Car Race Club. lol So I do tend to favour the antiques. ;)

Toyota Corolla Sprinter AE86

Tune a 2005 Suzuki Swift Sport fully (except for exhaust). It corners like a focused gnat and goes like no other small hatch.
