I searched, hoping that this will already have a thread for it but I get like VERY much results for "most fun thing" because it searches in child forums too.

Anyway post here what keeps you entertained in GT4 now u've had the game for several months.
I'm kind of curious and maybe some ideas come up I never thought about:idea:

Sometimes I grab a car, go do an endurance race, and track my lap times to see how consistant I can be.

Often lap after lap I can be within 1 second on every lap.

Sometimes I just buy a car cause I like it Mod it up and go race it in what ever series or race I can find.

now that i completed the game im trying to complete every endurance race in a stock car on A-Spec giving 200pts per race....tough i know..but ive done a couple now....working on the next :D

I've not played in about 3 weeks (uni work, other commitments), but today I'm trying out ridiculous car/track combinations. Fully tuned FGT at Citta di Aria in Arcade Mode, for example.

secretly tracking different lap-records and set-ups throughtout the forums to see just how bad i suck... hint: yup, heheh... :nervous:

Staring at old replays, my Jag xj220 sitting in the garage. Seeing how many times I can buy the same car in a different color and race it until I get bored with it.

Yup.

Or rewinning cool cars that I have sold in the past, because every so-often, I'll get a weird streak and sell most of the cars in my garage.

Nurb in either a RUF or a 190 Evo...

Mostly that's all I do in GT4.. Every once in a while I try to get my complete percentage up - I usually fail and take my 190 to the Ring...

I just get loads of money, Spamming the DTM mostly, and buy cars that i dont need (Peugeot 905, all the pagains, Ford GT's, racecars etc etc). Then i test them to hell on the nurb.

I work on info spreadsheets (currently putting all of the colors in my used car spreadsheet)

It has nothing to do with racing but it takes forever and gives me something to do.

Going back over already won races & seeing if i can squeeze all the A-spec points out . Doing quite well considering i only average less than an hr a day now. It's a major cahnge from my 3A strategy.

I found that creating a power/weight ratio, bhp limit or any basic rule and (de)tuning your cars to meet it is great fun for single and multiplayer.

At the moment myself and a friend are competing to find the best 500bhp limit street car and single setup that will win on most any track. Setting the cars up is as per usual but it gets interesting when you have to decide between choosing a bigger turbo and smaller exhaust etc or smaller turbo with bigger exhaust etc, to get as close to 500bhp without going over. This makes it more varied as you soon find yourself trying to be more innovative in your car selection and tuning processes rather than just getting an R34 and slapping on everything without much thought. We now find ourselves racing cars we would never touch before as we now find they can compete under the restrictions we have set. Infact in detuning my cars to meet 500bhp I have learnt a lot more about the more subtle tuning refinements like Toe in/out, LSD, transmission etc.

Also I found watching Best Motoring DVDs has given me a fresh appreciation of battling on courses I used to find boring - Fuji speedway! ;)

I drift

it's when i get tired of drifting that I do a race or two. Much like DeLoreanBrown, I try to snag as many A-spec points as I can. You can always use a crappier car, or toss on just a bit more ballast (aka - reward) weight.
Except for special condition events, I don't do a race if it's worth less than 125 A-spec points (where it can be avoided) - and I'm generally not happy until i get a bare minimum of 150.

and ya, I xlink if Breaker, dking, or suzuki are online and invite me in. I haven't had a good drift session on xlink in about a month now.....

If I get really bored, I will go into a race, make it very realistic, then commentate the race as I'm driving. It may sound weird, but hey, it's entertaining.

Depends on my mood, but here's a short list:
Check the used car lots (I have a lot...)
do a quick drifting session
drive a car I've never driven before (always on N tires)
tune a car and fiddle with it until it handles like a dream
take a new car out on the Nurburgring
Take pictures (I have lots of those too)

I think that's about it. Even though I'm not finished with the game, I've pretty much stopped trying to get 100% and just mess around doing any of those things listed.

The only things my friends and I ever do on GT4 these days are:

1. Put B-spec bob on some course with some car and look at the pretty graphics.

2. Go "oh what the hell I'll give it another shot" and play the game.....and then get pissed off, being reminded how un-fun the physics are... :grumpy:

when I get bored, I hunt down old 70's rwd coupes, tune them up and see how well they do on Nurb. 223 bhp rwd Lancer GSR did almost beat 530 bhp S2000 racecar.. :dopey:

I race the family cup on the Nurburgring and El Capitan with difficulty set on between 6-8 with stock old cars, usually racing against mid 90s cars.

1) Take a yellow Fiat Barchetta round Citta Di Aria and change gears at 4,000 RPM, I call it 'City driving' it's quite fun, actually

2) Take photos of sexy cars (Pagani Zonda C12S)

3) Put classic small cars on bling wheels (E.g. Pink Citroen 2CV on Subaru Impreza wheels)

That's what I've done with a few friends. 3 of us - the person not driving had to choose the car/track combination.

So - 1052hp TVR Cebera Speed 12, S1 tyres, around Opera...
and Dodge Charger Hemi Super Bees around Swiss Alps. My friends drifted across the line together, finishing 0.003 seconds apart... beats the race we did in Audi RS4s, where I lost by 0.008 because he got my slipstream.

Other mad combos include RUF BTRs around Citta d'Aria Reverse, Chaparall 2J on the 'Ring, Caterham on the 'Ring etc... '67 Camaro SS with supercharger fitted and all aids off is fun on any track :sly:
