Bangkok WAS in Thailand, but, either due to a name change, or Westerners realising that English isn't the only language on Earth, these days it's known as "Pankot".

There's a "Phuk" and a "Phuket" in Vietnam and a "Fukuoka" in Japan (if you don't mind mis-pronouncing them).


But Britain has some of the funniest town/village names on Earth. We've got a Hairy Slide, a Broadwoodwidger and 3 entire villages (in Orkney, Shetland and Cornwall) called "Twatt".

To add to the towns that Famine brought to the party I'd like to mention a few:
Joe, Montana (the town actually changed their name for a year while Joe Montana played for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Skullbone, TN
Sweet Lips, TN (incidentally the best BBQ in Chester County can be found there)
Finger, TN (you really need to hear it pronounced "southern")
Marina, CA (only funny if you've ever used Marina brand Toilet tissue).
Ossawatamee, KS (Always make me think of "Pete's Dragon")
Fort Ord, Ca (Who the heck is this "Ord" guy anyway?)
Last, but not least: Fort Dix, NJ

The PH in phuket doesnt make the F sound though and its phu-ket anyway but it think thats what u meant with the "if you mispronounce them"
