Funny Easter Egg

Wow, I thought PD cared about attention to detail, I wouldn't want to stumble into a Forza forum right now, the Xbox fanboys will be rinsing us...

Much easier to lift a scale model than a real car, you know...

Well I suppose they might have a hard time getting their hands on an actual '62 Special, but they could have at least tossed a generic RWD underbody texture on there so that there would be SOMETHING there.

That's too funny! I've always wanted to jump in and drive my 1/18 models now I can.

Ah, the lenghts some people would go in order to nitpick...

Like turn 10 actually went and photographed the underside of each one of their cars, rite?
Maybe they should have actually used die cast models as reference though, they do handle more realistically than their RWD cars.

Actually I think they did. Look at the rollovers in Forza 3.

Did you? Actually I saw quite a lot of them, and they were all quite generic.

If you think anyone went and had 400 cars lifted (let alone 1000), including the ones that were at collectors' and museums and such, for such a minor detail, you're crazy.

Man, the eagerness of some people on this forum to nitpick on absolutely inconsequential things is rather morbid.

This, of course, not to mention that the fact that polyphony used scale models as part of their reference is and always has been well known (and why shouldn't they?), every journalist thatvisited their studio always described it as filled with scale models and kits. What did you think they used them for?

Shoddy or not, as a die-cast collector, that to me is full of win.

If they didn't expect the bottoms to be seen, why not just make them solid black?
I think they knew the bottoms would get seen at some point like this, and therefore I am leaning toward Easter Egg.

Can anyone take a picture of his GT-R autoart 1/18 model and post it here?
If you got 1/18 autoart models that arn't GT-R it's also ok.
Poste'm boys!

I don't believe that's an easter egg. It's just something that there was no reason to clean up in GT4. While I don't think it's any reason to nitpick and crucify PD, it's still them getting caught with their pants down, and you gotta laugh and facepalm.

I agree now that we know for a fact all the standards were either imported from GTPSP or GT4 it makes sense.

I can't believe people think that's an actual diecast car texture. What diecast car has rusty exhaust pipes and dirt on the undercarriage? Obviously an easter egg, and a very clever one at that.

Funniest thing I´ve ever seen LOL. Did´nt think GT5 would have something funny on it. Its better than the Trail Mountain monkey XD

Agreed, it has obviously been textured beyond just a photo of the underside of a model, or else it would just be black underneath.

I use scale models alot in my modelling workflow, especially for getting the layout of the underside, I'm sure this is what PD would have done for modelling and texturing the undersides.

This is awesome!

is this the "big surprise" Kaz told us of?

or was the surprise the inablity to change wheels on standard cars? lol

I'm still holding out that the big surprise will be the ability to purchase air fresheners from GT Auto and hang them from our mirrors.

I hate racing at 220 mph while the interior smells of chinese food...

Wait, what?
Been there since at least GT3. Here's the picture I took from GT5:
