I've tried that at work, instead of going up, you end up going to the office and getting written up.

I don't get it?

EDIT: If it's because the window is open, most airliners have cockpit windows that open (on the ground of course).

I think it's because he looks like a tool pretending to be an airline pilot....Bruce Dickinson doesn't have to pretend

Dude, that's his actual plane. He parks it in his driveway, and his mansion has an airfield.

It's funny because John Travolta is flyin' like a boss.

I know, I've seen pictures of his house....I assume by "Flyin' like a boss" you mean he's dressed like a 🤬?

You are totally ruining Keef's Chief Pilot fantasy right now.

Yeah I know, it's his personal 707, he just flew it to Australia last week (not the first time) for a Qantas anniversary as he is a Qantas Ambassador (Check the Q on his flight hat).

As for becoming a commerical airline pilot it is not so easy without military experience, airlines generally want 20 year olds with 1500+ multi engine hours which they get from the military. If not even the fanciest flight school wont get you anywhere without these hours unless the airline become desperate for pilots (happens from time to time) then they may consider polits with less hours and sometimes newbie cadets from flight schools. Otherwise (without military experience) the most likely way to get into a commerical airline pilot position is start with general aviation, work yourself into twin engine rating and get hours for low wage. Oh and these days females are most likely to be taken in for cadets so stand in line (I knoe a few that got the jump). Don't mean to sound like a downer to Keef but if he is really interested in becoming a commercial pilot then military (a flight role) would be the best way,

Edit: another way is knowing people high up in the business, strings are often pulled for family and close friends (cadetships given out, if student has good grades in various subjects).

Sorry for OT :(

You're right, aspiring to be a pilot is a ridiculous idea. It's too hard to do without military experience. Instead, I should aspire to sit in an office all day and work on computers where I will gather great respect from the people at large, earn a monumental salary, hold professional certificates that very few people hold, and have little kids look up to me and desire to be just like me one day. Why yearn to be a professional pilot when I can settle for office work and video games, and be mediocre like everyone else?

You went a little overboard in making your point. I'm on your side, but it's not like you're doomed to waste your life if you're not a pilot.

Okay Keef, thank you for the bout of, uh, oddness, but can we get back to the pictures?

Wasn't it possible to defend your dream without offending everyone else?!:indiff:
Not to mention that you're dooming yourself to mediocrity if you can't accomplish it!👎

:scared:

Umm, I was just laying it down of what is needed if you want to go that way I never said it was ridiculous, I am in much the same boat as you though I have already gone to flight school. just need the commercial rating to get a low end general aviation job to clock up hours. Too bad you don't get paid well for it, It's a hard and expensive industry to get into without military experience but not impossible by any means.

Oh and if you just want to be a pilot for the role model status and paycheck the flight instructors will be the first to tell you not to bother (they said that to my class). My personal regret is I never followed this path from school.

WTF.

That deserves the caption from this demotivator:

BTW, that's not something I would post in the funny pics thread really, but I would like someone to put the picture above with this demotivator as it would be just about the greatest demot ever.
