I would guess that people who care more about sports than anything else in their life (including God) would be in sin for not wanting God the most. Or it's just some people trying to make a joke about ultra-religious people

Y'know, maybe I'm stating the bleeding obvious here, but I think you'll find it's a commentary on the quality of most films starring The Rock. Espeically when it comes to dialogue.
