I'm going to assume that she isn't in much danger at all, atleast if she lives in North America. Most places here have building codes that require breakers on all outdoor outlets, which is probably why my neighbour uses his electric snow shovel every year and makes it back inside alive.

Yeah, its like a long handle with a tiny snow blower head on it that is electric powered. It basically just pushes the snow along in front of you, but has trouble with heavy snow over 2" deep. I'm pretty sure its only for seniors living in apartments with balconys as I can't see much use for it other wise.
