I would have a go.

Considering that my own room was like that for almost 10 years. The worst part for me would be trying to not stop in the middle for some rare brick.

As a parent of two boys that have (not joking) a dining room table full of Lego bricks, I just use the foot shuffle method to avoid the otherwise inevitable.

Actually, looking at that, and basing it on my own experience, I think a whole bunch of LEGO Bricks will be far less painful than the one that hides in the carpet, waiting to jump out and bite right on a nerve.

To me that doesn't look any worse than walking barefoot outside on a limestone gravel driveway, which is like a rite of passage in Kentucky. I did it and now my daughter has done it. When that gravel is between you and a pool and you forgot some kind of sandals there is no turning back.

One of my odd fears is that there will be some kind of emergency and while running across the living room to my daughter's bedroom I step on one of the many, tiny, sharp-edged toy accessories that get left behind and go down in agonizing pain just a few feet from the door.

I've stepped on one of these about bearfooted about 10/12 years ago while changing some things at home, and it was excruciating.

Aaah, the good ol' foot shuffle method...
Slowest way of moving around ever. But it beats suffering great pain.

RE: Legos...I don't get the big thing about legos hurting your feet...I've stepped on them on many occasions, they simply don't hurt. Also the worst thing to step on in your house at night "A landmine!" -James May
