Half marks, Mr. King. Yes, it's about the importance of a boyfriend - but it's also a piece of mormon propaganda (Meyer herself being a mormon). Bella is never actually happy until she finds a boyfriend and starts living with an extended family. Something that mormons do.

Twilight's only literary value is in the way its sentences are constructed. It's almost as if Meyer read dozens of books on grammar to make sure her sentences were properly formed. Her over-use of florid adjectives in particular makes the components of grammar stand out. Therefore, it's actually a good book to use for teaching grammar to high school students ... or it would be, if it weren't for the pedophilic themes in the later books.

Which is amusing, because in King's book On Writing, he basically says "Screw that".
