One thing I think should be in a upcoming update should be when the controller battery dies during a race, the car just rolls away into a wall. I have lost many races due to this. They should make it so that when the battery dies the game will pause so you can connect your controller to the USB and not veer off to the side of the track. Anybody else think that this is an issue?

The PS tells you way in advance that your battery is low, all you have to do is pause game and recharge/swap controller. The lights on the controller also starts flashing when the charge gets low so I don't think this would be something added to any game as it's console related.

I know but i tend to ignore them until its too late to do anything about it :P

Just charge between each play and i found if your tv has a usb use that to charge so you dont neccesarily have to play while its charging.

You are saying that PD should fix a problem only YOU are creating.

Even still that would be a Sony problem if there really was one.

Every game should pause when the controller disconnects, it just makes sense. Of course this doesn't work online.

If you really struggle to keep your controller charged, perhaps consider buying an extra controller to keep at full charge so you can swap between them when one starts to run out of juice.

I plug my controller into my laptop inbetween PS3 sessions.

That's your problem then.

I think if your battery dies while you're driving, you should either restart the race or continue on with another one.

No real driver ever had to pause a race and swap his car's batteries.

He's from Limerick guys, he's got more pressing concerns than his dualshock battery
life :) and that is why he fails.

If your battery gets low during a race just plug it into the USB port and carry on.

SIMPLES.

I'm the same as you until about 3 hours after the low battery pop up that I remember and have a panic attack getting it plugged in. However, we can't exactly blame Sony or PD for something we are creating

360 pauses and it would be handy, sometimes you just forget.

Honestly any argument against this is a bit ridiculous, the game should pause if controller disconnects or you go to PS menu, like most other games do. Seems like it would be an easy enough fix, and certainly would be helpful because I frequently press the home button on accident for some reason. Lol

I bought a 10' USB cable and when the low battery warning comes up, I just pause it for a minute and plug it in to recharge.

Thats exactly what I have done.

I do like that feature for X box 360 pause so you can plug your cable in or batteries depending on what you use.

But, does the 360 give you ample warning time that the battery is low?

this!!!!
Every game I own pauses when the battery dies, except for GT5. The first time this happened I even thought it was a bug.

Charge ya damn DS3 , it blinks and you get popups!

I don't know if it's because I'm using 3rd party battery packs, but my 360 controller just switches off without warning when the battery is low. The 360 instantly pauses my game when it happens though so I've got no issue with it.

The light on my controller flashes in a circle when the charge is low

Are you seriously looking for someone to save you from yourself?

Forza gets porsche DLC on 22th May. GT maintaince on 22th too..

Addonfour- Do you have a laptop? If so plug it in and open it up and set it next to your race seat open and on. while open take controller charge cable plug in to controller and laptop. enjoy gtp while playin gt5 and keeping your ds3 juiced. problem = solved and made your life better. :sly:

In all honesty, this is another common sense feature that PD could've added.

But the onus is also on the gamer to make sure the battery has enough juice.

Don't take a long trip without filling up.

I like it, it is as if your piston broke and you DNF because you weren't paying attention.
