G25 Sequential Mode problem *FIXED*

After modifying my shifter to have more resistance, my sequential mode light will not light up.

I plugged it into my PC and it does not recognize the sequential shifter.

However, the paddle shifters work in GTHD and GT5:P JP Demo even though it is in H-mode.

I checked all the wires for proper connection and it seems fine.

I removed the spring on the slider mechanism that engages H-mode and sequential mode because I thought it wasn't needed.

What could be the problem?

POSSIBLE REASON

After reading this thread (http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=299371) on how to modify the resistance, the user mentions that sequential mode may not work because of moving plates.

FIXED
After reading about the moving plates situation, I decided to try and place the springs back on the H-mode and Sequential mode switch.

I was unsuccessful and just put the plates back and lubricate it.

After reassembling the shifter, I put it in sequential mode and played with the shifter and now it is working. I don't know what happened, but sequential mode is working fine.

Wish I knew, because I have very similar problems.

My modified G25 only works with the paddles in GT HD – even when it is in H-mode. Yet, with exactly the same settings, the paddles will not work in GT5 Prologue – the sequential light won't come on for me either and I can only use the H-shift.

If either the paddles or the H-shift didn't ever work, I would suspect a dud connection – but seeing as both modes do work, but not in both games, I am somewhat stumped...

I didn't remove any springs or any other bits, just cut it up to separate the gearchange part from the buttons.

Sorry to hear that.

For me, its not a big problem because I can use the paddle shift and H-pattern in GT5:P JP Demo.

Just wish I knew why the light won't come on.

I didn't modify anything but I don't have a reverse when playing in H-pattern mode.

Are you able to push down the shifter to engage reverse gear? If so, try and push the shifter all the way to the right.

Remember that reverse is engaged like a Volkswagen manual transmission.

My fifth and sixth gear require the shifter to be pushed to the edge in order to engage.

If that doesn't work, it might be something wrong with the rod and you might have to ship it to Logitech. Let's hope that doesn't happen!
