The difference between the two is the pedal box. G25 is a lot better. However, I paid £70 for my DFGT and I've not seen the G25 for under £170. If you have that much spare cash, then go for it. Worth £100 more? I don't think so.

Nah, not a huge difference, the G25 is better........but definately not £70 - £100 pounds better! And it can't be said that your enjoyment of GT5 will be any lessened by using the DFGT (which is a GT 5 persific wheel)

The G25 is better build, pedal box is much better, stronger. You have a clutch, which is important in GT5 because there are a lot of stock cars in GT5 with a 5 or 6 speed manual. The shifter has a sequential and a H-pattern. You can use the latter in combination with the clutch. Also important; if you drive a race car in GT5 with a manual transmission, you can learn how to heel and toe, which is very rewarding if you get the hang of it. If you want to create an authentic game experience and you have the cash for a G25, by all means, go for it!

Doesn't this thread belong in the Steering Wheels & Racing Cockpits sub forum?

It would be nice if the extra money spent for a clutch atually worked like a real clutch. Since the G25 was really designed for the PC and not the PS3 the clutch feature does not fully simulate a working clutch. You can't really pop the clutch as you would with the handbrake feature to break the tires lose if you wanted to power slide plus you lose the on the fly adjustment for the brake bias, traction & torque split control which I think is an important key for the GT5p game.

I am hoping they will make it work better when they come out with the new wheel model plus maybe a real handbrake feature. Hey, maybe thats why GT5 is just waiting to release it anytime, they are waiting on Logitech to release the new wheel with GT5 as a bundle too...lol wishful thinking haha!

Hmm.

Is it possible for anyone to give me ratings for both wheels? G25 seems to be a pretty damn expensive wheel to be honest.

With the controller I always use automatic transmissions. Seems like G25 is better if I want to use manual. I guess I should be better off wit the DFGT, right?

Have you tried Ebaying the G25? You can get some rediculous prices for them. I am also in the market for a wheel and I'm going with the g25:tup:

+1 to what has already been said. The DF-GT is the better wheel but the pedals are crap, so the best combination is G25 pedals with the DF-GT wheel.

The clutch is a waste of time since it doesn't work any better than a simple switch, no riding the clutch on takeup or anything sophisticated like that. Ditto for the manual gearbox. About the only time it could possibly be useful is if you're trying to jump two or three gears in a hurry but to be fair given the number of modern supercars that are clutchless sequential manuals the paddles offer more reality than a stick does.

plus you lose the on the fly adjustment for the brake bias, traction & torque split control which I think is an important key for the GT5p game.

The real time adjustments for GT5P are assignable, so the G25 can be assigned to do those adjustments in game no problem.

I went from a Driving Force Pro to a G25 and would never look back. Even just for the pedals its a big improvement. The DFP is a great wheel no doubt about it, but doesnt compare to the quality and feel of the G25. If you can afford the G25, go for it. If you cant afford it, or spend the time in Gran Turismo to justify the purchase, then get the DFGT, or the DFP as a minimum, i feel if your not using a wheel for GT, your missing out on half the experiance.

I payed a mere £100 (thats 100 including delivery to my door) for my G25, granted it had been used but not alot (I knew the previous owner).
