Fanatec GT DD Pro - loss of force feedback

OK. Mystery solved. Having uninstalled and reinstalled GT7, the issue remained.
Going through various people's settings, all to no avail, I stumbled across a setting that changed my FFB operation.
Start GT7, start a race, pause then go to settings- Assist settings-Auto Drive and turn it off. Then adjust Controller settings-Trigger (P1) to 'off, scroll down to Steering Force Feedback and adjust Max Torque and Sensitivity to suit yourself. All now OK.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
Now my nights are longer.
Glad to hear that's worked for you. I just launched GT7 and after a week of it working fine I'm getting no Force Feedback today. I tried what you suggested (although I didn't have Auto Drive switched on anyway) to no avail.
Just our of interest, have you updated your DD Pro firmware to activate Full Force?

Hi. Sorry it didn't work for you, I hope you get it sorted soon. I have the 5nM version, but just ordered the upgrade PSU. I did do a recent software/firmware update to the wheel and base but this was prior to the announcement. Do I still need the upgrade PSU to allow the increase 🤔?

GT DD Pro / GT7 – FullForce issues after the latest update

- I’m using a Fanatec GT DD Pro on PS5-Pro with Gran Turismo 7, and since updating the Fanatec firmware for FullForce support I’ve experienced several serious FFB issues.

- I updated everything on Tuesday. I initially used FUL 100, then gradually reduced it to 70, 50 and now 40.

- These are the problems I’ve experienced so far:

  1. COMPLETE LOSS OF FFB
This has happened more than once.

- The wheel continues to steer normally, the pedals work, all buttons and controls work, but all force from the base disappears.

- There is basically zero resistance or road feeling. It feels like steering through air.

- Restarting the wheelbase restores the FFB.

  1. WHEELBASE DISCONNECT / SHUTDOWN
- On another occasion the base completely disconnected during GT7.

- After restarting it, everything worked normally again for approximately 1–1.5 hours.

  1. CONSTANT STRONG FORCE TO THE RIGHT
This is the most concerning problem.

- While driving normally, the wheel suddenly started applying a very strong and constant force to the right.

- Luckily I was holding the wheel firmly. When I relaxed my grip, the wheel continued turning itself to the right. It wasn’t a short FFB spike - the base was continuously trying to rotate the wheel in that direction.

- I immediately switched the base off.

- This has now happened more than once.

- On Friday evening I actually experienced both the complete loss of FFB and the constant pull to the right within roughly two hours.

- After every incident I switched off/restarted the base rather than trying to fight the wheel, and it worked normally again afterwards, at least temporarily.

- I have gradually reduced FullForce:
FUL 100 → 70 → 50 → currently 40.

- I may eventually disable FullForce completely if it happens again.

- The frustrating part is that I REALLY like FullForce when it works properly.

- After getting used to it, switching FUL OFF makes the wheel feel much softer and almost “cushioned” again. Increasing normal FFB strength doesn’t replace it.

- What I miss is the additional sharpness and detail - feeling the apex, road surface, bumps and smaller details through the wheel. I became used to that feeling surprisingly quickly.

- Has anyone with a GT DD Pro experienced these exact symptoms after the latest firmware/GT7 update, particularly the constant force pulling the wheel hard to one side?

- And has anyone who rolled back to the previous Fanatec firmware completely eliminated these problems?

Update - FUL 40:

Today the issue happened again with FullForce reduced to 40%. This time the wheel suddenly applied a very strong and constant force to the LEFT.
As I mentioned before - previously I had exactly the same issue pulling strongly to the RIGHT.

So the direction is apparently not consistent. The base can suddenly apply sustained force in either direction. I immediately switched the wheelbase off.

What are your in Game settings for Torque, sensitivity and controller vibration?

What are your FOR and overall FFB settings?

I suspect its the combination of forces, not just Full Force alone, that cause the base to overload and act up, so logging these other settings is important

Thanks for the reply.

Before the FullForce update, I actually used considerably stronger FFB settings in GT7.
I normally ran Max Torque / Sensitivity at around 8/7 or 8/8, and I didn’t experience these issues.

After the FullForce update, my current GT7 settings are:
  • Force Feedback Max. Torque: 5
  • Force Feedback Sensitivity: 4
  • Controller Vibration: 150
On the Fanatec base, my overall FFB is set to 100%.

At the time of today’s incident, FullForce (FUL) was set to 40%.
After the incident, I reduced FUL further to 25%, and I’m going to test it at that level.

I still need to check my exact FOR setting and I’ll post that as well.

It would be more accurate to ask if there is anyone who doesn't experience these problems.

As far as I follow the forums, reverting to previous firmwares from before FullForce was implemented eliminates the problems you are experiencing.
PC App V1.4.3.4 should work.

I dropped base FFB setting to 90 and have played few hours without issues since. Maybe this gives base "headroom" to not have issues. To me the FFB also feels better at 90 vs 100. Propably also due to headroom and no clipping in effects..
