After waiting for 4 months, GT2 and CSP were delivered to my home (I live in Hong Kong "asia")

There is no authorized dealer for selling fanatec in Hong Kong. And fanatec USA / Europe does not offer international shipment to Asia region.

A short report will come shortly.

stay tuned!

p/s : my G27 brake pedal is modified using Perfect Pedal.

cockpit : Apiga AP2 w/ AP2+ seat (made in Taiwan)

Perfect Pedal costs as much as G27! But, it's worth!

Those pedals are just nothing but pure WIN 👍

I've never seen anyone compare a modded G27 (well the pedals in this case) vs GT2/CSP vs T500RS. This will be interesting. :dopey:

Those perfect pedals don't look that perfect... do you have to build them yourself???

I bought "DIY" version of Perfect Pedal so as to save oversea shipping cost.

it took me 1.5 hours to dis-assembly the original G27 brake module and assembly Perfect Pedal.

p/s : perfectpedal.com provides excellent detail installation guide! It's an easy job if you are familiar with screw driver and hex nuts.

Dude I'm really looking forward to this review. I'm looking at buying a GT2 so I can have a perfect one stop shop for racing *cough Forza 4*. I currently have a stock G27 and love it but everything I've read and heard (especially the insidesimracing review) about the GT2 makes it sound like what I really need. They say it's not only best because it's compatible with all systems, but that it's also best for GT5 in general.

So go GT2! I have high hopes. Only thing I would request from the review is to find out how hard or easy it is to set up all the different options for the wheel in GT5, if the "PS3 mode" turns all the face buttons on the wheel into fully working PS3 buttons, and also! if the shifter for the G27 would work with the GT2.

lol, sorry if that sounds like a lot, I know you're just doing it for fun so anything you do I would really appreciate!

Looking forward to your comparison between the perfect pedal and CSP. I too have the perfect pedal mod installed on my G27 and love it. It's a great (and expensive) mod for the pedals.

latest update:-

※ will be busy on watching Nurburgring 24h live streaming (in HONG KONG)
※ F1 Europe Qualify & Sunday Race
※ did several laps on GT5 Nurburgring 24h Time Trial last night
※ I used RE Amemiya AsparaDrink RX7, stage engine 3 tune-up, stock turbo, 399hp, 1% delimiter applied to meet 394hp, 1100kg
※ (a) I did 8:39.4 using G27 + perfect pedal (on 22.Jun)
※ (b) I did 8:48 using fanatec 911 GT2 + perfect pedal (on 24.Jun)
※ (c) using fanatec 911 GT2 + CSP. I did 1-2 seconds faster than that of (a) in mid of the track, but I got crashed and quited (on 23.Jun). And the CSP was slipped off the cockpit due to only one screw used for hard mount. I will fix it tonight.

I don't know why I did slower lap time in the combo of GT2 + perfect pedal.

The intension of procurement of GT2 is..... playing GT5 and Forza series at the same time.

Last but not the least in this short update, I could not find a good position for holding the GT2 wheel tight due to the black aluminium block (pls see the photo below marked red in circle)

first impression, GT2 force feedback is smoother than that of G27. 30cm steering wheel diameter is better than that of G27 (27cm)

p/s : sorry for my English... something like Chinlish.
p/s : my 4th wheel, DFGT, was sold to ex-colleague

When you have a chance would love to hear your thoughts on perfect pedal compared to csp. Thanks 👍

CSP brake travel is too long for me.

CSP tuning kit will be delivered to Hong Kong next Tue. UPS shipped this package back to my friend's home (USA) by mistakes. :grumpy:

Once CSP tuning kit is on my hand and get it tuned, I will compare the difference between them on fanatec GT2.

be patient.

Part of the fun of the CSP is the adjustability. I agree the stock brake setup is very "family sedan" mushy.

If you want the very firm feel of a racing brake setup, move the pivot point of the brake arm up one hole. SimHQ has a nice picture in their tweaking guide: http://www.simhq.com/_technology/technology_016e.html

I found the stiff race setup to be a little too firm for games like Forza or GT, where I drive mostly production vehicles. My preferred setup is the race setup with the brake bar located one hole up, like in the SimHQ guide. I then replaced the stock brake bar with the shorter one from the CSP tuning kit. I think this combination is perfect. It feels like the braking system from a performance street vehicle.

Someone here, I think Delphic Reason, recommended replacing the stock clutch spring with the stiffer one from the CSP tuning kit. He also suggested using the softer clutch spring to replace the stock throttle spring. That's what I run and I like the feel very much.

Check out Thomas' (Fanatec CEO) video tutorial for CSP tuning. It covers pedal adjustments and disassembly.

I think I will try steps 1 & 3 of that tweaking guide. Do any of you know if it really makes a difference (overall the first one)?

Also waiting to know what you say about that excellent stuff.

Step one (adjusting brake throw) makes a huge difference. It's extremely stiff. The pedal will wind up moving very little and you'll be controlling brake force almost exclusively via pressure modulation.

Thank you, I will be doing this as soon as I buy the appropiate Allen wrench.

@ ah-bull, you'll tell us how the perfect pedal feels compared with the Clubsport brake pedal. I think it is a very high quality product, but I think it does not worth so much money for just a pedal...

Thank you very much for the info.

I also found this CSP tuning video from fanatec web site. Just wait for the tuning kit and do the tune-up. :)

Thank you for your advice.

What i think is.... if you want driving fast and have better lap time, you need to improve cornering speed.

An accurate brake performance and repeatly consistant brake performance are very important when playing Endurance series online.

I like 1hr+ online racing with friends.

I could did less mistakes when cornering in Suzuka in 30 laps race with them using perfect pedal.

just my 2 cents of opinion.

one foolish question ...

I always hit the "rear view" botton on GT2. It seems that I could not remap the buttons in GT5 option manual.

actually g27 with perfect pedal and ARC ffb mod will be a gd choice too

That is true. I played with an ARC modded G25 at an iRacing demonstration at PAX. It felt amazing. It's expensive, but clearly money is not the issue here. :sly:

not really i cancelled my GT2 pre-order and got a T500rs. couldn't be happier ;)

Oh come on, clearly you are envious as someone said before.
Clearly ah-bull is being a community person and sharing his thoughts on the 3 wheels and good on him for it, just cause he has posted a great collection don't need to try shoot him down.

Ah-bull nice collection and look forward to reading all you have to say about the wheels, currently have a G25 on a Playseat evo with rumble packs mounted(same a butt kicker) I will be looking at an upgrade in the near future so this thread and many others is much help.
