So today I made the switch from the Logitech DFGT to the Logitech G27 wheel and i'm happy to say that I like this one a lot more than I did the DFGT but I do have a couple questions to ask you guys.

1. I plugged in the wheel and all that good stuff and went to use the new wheel in "practice" and of course it worked without a hitch but when I try to go to "options" and configure the wheel the Logitech G27 doesn't show up as an option, does it matter if it's configured or not?

2. The only car I drive IRL is my mom's Honda Accord '10 for right now which is an automatic so today for the first time i'm learning how to drive a stick and I think i'm doing this right... Accelerating in 1st gear, once I get to a high RPM where I want to shift press clutch in, let off of the gas, shift into 2nd gear while clutch is still engaged, let off clutch, and finally hit the gas once again. Is this the correct process of switching gears manually?

3. When i'm going into a turn I seem to use one foot to press on the brake and the clutch to downshift while slowing down with the brake, isn't this called heel toe shifting or something along that line and is this okay?

Thanks for all of you GTPlanet users who take the Q&A section of the forum seriously, you guys are always great help.

One foot on the Brake and clutch?

You need to be using the clutch with the left foot and lift of the throttle and brake with your right.

Heel and toe applies across the throttle and brake. ( When coming off the brake the power is already there to take off again ).

Don't do any of these things whilst taking a driving test or the examiner will have a heart attack.

The rest of your post seems fine. Have fun.

Wish I learnt the principles on a video game.

The G27 is not officially supported by GT5 as it's a PC wheel. However, when the G27 is plugged in, GT sees it as a DFGT DFP, so any changes made to the DFGT DFP section will affect the G27.

I have tried it and no sorry as for the shifting I can't drive IRL (to young) so I'm the same as you.

This is really crazy.
Europe area manual is standard, US automatic seems to be standard.

Honestly, when I get a car I want automatic just because my GF won't allow me to buy a Impreza.

But yeah, it has helped driving manual all these years.

My advice is the same as Spagetti69.
Left foot on the clutch and the right is either on the brake or the gas.

That means you can configure the buttons?

Not all of them.

yes you can configure them, but only the 2 buttons above on the wheel and using the dfP wheel configuration, not dfgt (if i remember well)

Yes, I think you're right about it being the DFP wheel config instead of the DFGT one.

You cant assign any buttons on the g27 in gt5. Not with any of the wheels on display. The g25 it will work i believe.

Congratulations you will be much happier with your new wheel.

One thing to remember let your rpms come down a little before going into second gear out of first because if you don't it will jump out of gear and you will be in neautral not going anywhere.

Yes, I do let off the throttle a bit before I go into the next gear. :)
