I have not been able to find the Logitech G27 Wheel in the setup. I would like to change some of the controls around. Does GT5 support my wheel?
Any help would be great.

Thanks Mike

None of the buttons can be programmed on the G27 in GT5, PD has done this to nerf the wheel to try and sell more thrustmasters.

I don't think it's as sinister as that, otherwise the G27 simply wouldn't work. The G25/G27 simply is not in the setup because it's not an officially licensed PS3 wheel. Since it's not in the setup you can't remap the buttons. Fortunately GT5 does support all the major functions (clutch, shifter, rev lights even) so remapping the buttons is a minor thing to most people. It'd be nice if they patched it in later, but I'm not holding my breath now that the T500RS is almost here.

If anything, I'd give PD kudos for putting in as much as they did for unlicensed wheels like the G27 and the Fanatec wheels. Ever try plugging a G27 into an XBOX360 for Forza? Nothing!

The fanatac can just emulate the official wheels, and the G27 was designed for PC/PS3, not Xbox, hence why it doesn't work with forza. If PD removed major functions from the G27 (one of the most popular high end wheels out there) they would come under lots of criticism. They have not allowed programmable G27 buttons, to make the thrustmaster more appealing.

Last post for me on this subject.

The G27 was NOT designed for the PS3. It's a PC wheel. It happens to work with the PS3 (probably because it shares it's operating logic with the DFGT, which IS licensed) so Logitech touts that fact on the box, but it's NOT a licensed Sony accessory... notice no PlayStation logos on it and no PS button... so it doesn't HAVE to work at all. It's simply good will from PD that it has ANY of it's features supported, let alone most of them.

Anyways, it is what it is. The DFGT is the low end "official PS3 wheel" and the T500 is to be the high end one by the looks of it.

Hey to the G27 owners, i have a g27 coming in 2 days after having a DFGT, and am wondering what the FF is like on GT5.
Is it only the button mapping that's not functioning or is the FF pretty lack-lustre aswell? I ask because i understand you can't change the 1-10 FF In-game settings, or if you do it has no effect for the G27, so is the default FF setting responsive etc..?

Any feedback much appreciated .

FFB was about what I expected having owned 3 Logitech wheels before my G27. It's strong, and does exactly what it's supposed to. The 1 - 10 slider does work, with 1 being firm-ish and 10 being tough.

If I had to make a wild guess, I think the game recognizes the G25/G27 as a Logitech wheel and therefore certain things work... but as it's not officially supported, not everything does. So I just used the "Wheel Settings" menu and set it for Simulation, Power Assist off, and FFB at 6. Then I used the race setup and garage sliders for the rest.
