Game Save bug?

I don't know if this has been discussed before but I encountered an annoying bug, which I have noticed a few times now. Over the past couple of days I have been free running the Subaru BRZ on Brands Hatch. When I get back to the garage the mileage has been registered, but a reboot of the game will reset it back to what it was before the free run session. Why wouldn't the save game store everything from the last session? After it all, it does appear to save everything else, but it really makes you wonder how much else that gets lost in the save file.

Maybe it's not auto saving at that point. Try a manual save, reload and then check if the mileage was saved. I always save before quitting the game just to be sure.

It does auto save, as indicated in the lower right corner of the screen. Auto save and manual save should do the same thing. Regardless, the issue remains.

It should but as I found out, it does not.
Fully tuned a car for the next GT6 session the day after, watched auto save, finished the game.
When I fired it up again the car was still there, but all tuning parts had disappeared and I had to buy them again...

Since then I ALLWAYS save manual...!

Because, maybe, those miles..never happened

*INCEPTION MUSIC*

I just tested it myself and it appears you are right. Still, it needs to be fixed. A bug like this simply shouldn't exist after six patches. :irked:

Thanks for clearing it up though. 👍

If I understand right , your GT save saves everything (upgrades, tunes ...) but not mileage after running free run offline?

Just guessing , but maybe the reason is , that miles done in free run / arcade / online without tire wear , does not cumulate into car mileage > does not cause engine-chasis deterioration ... good thing indeed.

If game saves , but no changes (tunes, upgrades ...) have been saved, then it is different problem :D

I tuned some cars for the Ring, I always run them from my garage using the "test drive" option. I always use manual save, I don't trust auto save on any game, especially GT6. All my mileage is saved after I do a bunch of laps. My M5 had only seen the Ring using "test drive" and it has 650km +/- a few km. I actually look at the mileage before and after I run the Ring and I haven't noticed the situation you are describing. Please try the manual save method and report back.

I don't know if it saves everything else in the auto save but it appears that it neither saves tunes and upgrades. As it has been said, a manual save seems to overcome the issue I had with mileage, so I guess this saves everything. I'm too tired to read that thread but my free runs sessions (from the garage) have definitely added mileage to my cars. Only problem is that the auto save doesn't store this data, at least not if I don't do other things before quitting the game.

Please read my recent posts, manual save does definitely fix it. By the way, you mean the "free run" feature right?

If by "free run" you mean "test drive" from the garage. I read all the posts in this thread prior to posting.
