Here is my review of my GamePOD GT2 EVO.
My buying experience with Ash at GamePOD was far better than I could have expected. Ash and his people are very professional and I don't think it would be possible for a company to operate any smoother.
I had a few questions regarding the rig before placing my order so I emailed GamePOD and received my answers within minutes. Some of the other companies that I sent emails to never responded.
Once my order was placed I received an email from GamePOD informing me that there was a problem with processing my card. Ash let me know this happens on occasion with international orders and that I should contact my bank to let them know that I did in fact place the order. I contacted my bank and that is exactly what happened. They put a hold on the order because of the amount and it being an international order. They cleared it right away for me.
Next came shipping.. I was sent an email from FedEx stating that the shipment was picked up from GamePOD and they gave me a tracking number. I only wish FedEx could operate as professionally and smooth as GamePOD. First problem was FedEx clearing for Customs. FedEx called me asking me what was in the packages. I emailed them a copy of the invoice, I also contacted GamePOD and Ash did the same for me. That wasn't good enough initially. I then sent them a link to the GamePOD website and emailed them pictures of what was in the boxes. Once I filled out and faxed the paperwork for customs it was cleared.
Delivery.. Some of the boxes were damaged during shipping. I was a little concerned however once I opened the boxes I could see that GamePOD did an outstanding job of protecting the contents. Not a single ding or scratch.
Assembly.. The more I removed from the boxes the more I became impressed with the product. I was initially concerned about the side plates that hold the seat when I first looked at the pictures on the GamePOD website. I was a bit concerned that the metal wouldn't be sturdy enough and the seat may wobble. As soon as I held it in my hand all concern vanished, it's a thick heavy piece of steal. Putting the rig together was easy and straight forward. I did not have a copy of the directions so I emailed GamePOD and Ashed sent me the directions via pdf file. Ash to the rescue again.
My impression... WOW, I could not be more happy with my choice. GamePOD is a first class company. People may think the price is high. I don't see how Ash can sell the EVO for the price he does. The seat alone is $1,000 from the manufacturer. The workmanship and quality of materials that he puts into the frame is top notch. It is a very well designed and built rig. It is very comfortable and sturdy, I get very little movement from anywhere. I use a Logitech Driving Force GT and it mounts right on, it doesn't wobble. The pedals are planted to the base and feel as if they are hard mounted.
I highly recommend GamePOD, great people and a great product.
Thank you GamePOD.
