I'd be interested if it's on Saturday, I'm in another GT500 series on Sunday.
I think tire choice should be left up to the individual, as well as when to pit. In a 45min race a pitstop will be almost a must for anything but hard tires, making it mandatory is not really necessary. We are just finishing a SuperGT 300 series and ran into problems with a couple of drivers that were constantly wanting us to change the rules to make pit stops mandatory; these are the guys who brake as late as possible in every corner, think every corner is a passing opportunity, and generally drive like they are in an Aspec race. We seldom had a race where one of these two wasn't running into the back of cars, or just crashing and taking others out. Everyone else could run the entire race without pitting, both of these guys would have no tires left after 8-10 laps and would either have to pit or just completely lose all hope of staying on the track. Mandatory pit stops only reward this kind of driving. I believe tire management is a very important part of racing, taking that away just promotes bad driving and leads to a lot more crashes.
I'm in either way, just hope you reconsider the mandatory pit stops, or at least let the driver decide when to pit.
