It's funny when you think of this. Gran Turismo 5 has 1000 cars, and your garage can hold 2000 cars. But, Gran Turismo 2 has 600 cars, but the garage can only hold 100. And in all of the other games, the garage could hold more than the total amount of cars in the game.

The exact number of GT5 cars is 1049, including stealths, chromelines, GT Academy, Gamestop, Edge......
For regional restrictions, I think US users can collect only 1048 models (no xj13 chromeline), EU users 1047 (no gamestop & edge). This, if you bought signature edition, of course.
