Fantastic racing guys i thought i was in an actual BTCC event.
I am so impressed with the level of racecraft and pace in both lobbies 1 & 2.

Race 1 for me started great and it was turning into a battle with @Heavenboy007 but i had a internet failure and had to retire. Fantastic start by all and real close racing right from the get go.

Race 2 was a lot better and managed to get onto the podium, again great start and close racing.

Big shout out to Poulos711 For being controlled and patient on his debut with GBRC.

Thank you guys you make this club what it is "A real racing driving experience"

Quick Reference Guide to GBRC GT7 Casual Racing Rules

At GBRC we pride ourselves in clean racing with minimal contact.
We have an active team of Race Admin members who take part in all races & study the race replays.
We aim for realistic racing and would ask drivers to drive as if it was their car.

Below is a brief version of our Online Racing Rules ;

The Track ;
The game will issue penalties for track limits.
If a driver breaks the track limits and gains an advantage you should give up that advantage.

Qualifying ;
Just like in real life racing, do not obstruct other drivers who are on a fast qualifying lap.
Please move off the racing line or off track.
Do not park on track while qualifying is still in progress.
If you catch up to a driver then it’s your responsibility to back off.
Do not hinder the car in front.

The Race ;
Avoid contact with other cars.
If you make contact with another car & either make them lose control / leave the track / spin, you must wait for the car to rejoin and allow him past.
If another car is ahead & on the racing line when braking into a corner, you must back out of any manoeuvre to avoid contact or spinning the other car around.
Continual contact / rubbing the car in front is not acceptable
Weaving to avoid slip streaming / towing the car behind is not acceptable – you can move once.
If you leave the track, care must be taken to safely re-join without hindering other drivers.
Be prepared to leave racing room for cars that are alongside or 'overlapping' you
The race is not won in the first corner – be patient on the first few corners.
You must make every effort to avoid collisions, this would include going off track.

Two words to think about - Patience and Awareness.

Be gentlemanly,polite and respectful.
Respect the stewards and Admin.

Persistent, careless, abusive driving could result in a Permanent ban from GBRC.

Hi Davette,
Nice to meet you and welcome to GBRC.
GT7 Ratings can be deceiving, we look for clean gentlemanly racing drivers.
We have quite a strict policy on conduct both on track and on mic.
We give divers a fair amount of time to learn our ethics, and we are prepared to put in the time to help drivers improve if needed.
Are you on a PS5 or PS4?
Look forward to seeing you on track soon.

I’m on ps5. Is it Thursday night for practice sessions for new drivers

Hey!

I’d love to join you guys for some good clean racing.

I’m not quick, and am still very much leaning.

K
Hi @Hondo_maclean Welcome to GBRC.
Pace is not our concern, clean racing is.
If you are new to GT7 or competitive racing and are willing to learn, then your in the right place.

We use Discord voice chat to communicate on comms which is integrated on the PS5. You can find the link to our Discord channel in my signature below.

Look forward to seeing you on track soon.

Hey clean racers, I’m new to the forum but have been looking to join a league for a while now. I‘m happy to partake in the evaluation and my main priority is to have fun racing but doing so while racing clean. I have tried sports mode but it’s just too frustrating, to stick around. Also I am hoping to create my own PS VR2 racing league on GT7 with the same rule set you guys have created here. If you’re open to adding new members, I’m happy to get in touch and join your Thursdays training sessions. Looking forward to hearing back from you. In the meantime: enjoy your clean races!

Hi,
Long time (since GT1) offline player here looking to dip my toe into online racing. I’ve been eyeing up the daily races but have yet to give it a go as I’m worried I’ll make some idiotic mistake and spoil someone’s race.

I don’t think I’m very quick but am very keen to improve. Currently using a G29 mounted to a cheap wooden folding table but am looking at getting a proper stand and a TS598 (while trying to figure out how to sneak a G Pro past the wife!)

I work shifts so can’t promise to make every session.

Age: 53 (my god when did that happen?!)
Married, 3 kids, 31, 22, and 4 - only the 4 yr old still at home
Work full time as a nurse practitioner in urgent care - no set shift pattern - could be any day, 12.5 hour shifts.
Constantly knackered (see “kids” above)
Can be grumpy “when it suits” (my wife made me add that)
Despite being a geek my whole life I still haven’t quite figured out Discord - it just hasn’t clicked with me, I can get by but may need constant reminders.

I think that covers the basics, will I do?

Cheers,

Al

Hey. How are things. I’m also a new driver with no pace. Glad to hear there are more. We can have a battle at the back.
Don’t worry about joining daily races. U will get the hang of it in no time. And find everyone else trying to spoil your race. Just stay away from the gr3 for a wee while. I lost 1400 dr points in one race as a newbie.

Sounds like fun Davette, thanks for the reply. Am I ok to add you on PSN and join the practise this evening when I get home from work? Finish at 8 today so may just make the last hour of practise.

Yeah add away. Will return. It’s my first practice too so don’t quote me on anything

Hi Gents. Glad too see you have interest in GBRC. As Lunchbox said in a previous post pace is not the target. Clean racing is. The pace will come along with time. Anyways the guys are usually around during the weekday, with Thursday night being the big practice/lobby night. To partake in races, we got to see you practice for two weeks with consistent body of work in terms of clean racing. If you're interest join the discord

Hi Gents (and Nigel).
Had to make a new account as lost access to my old email.
To those newcomers and those that are lurking with the temptation of dipping their toes into Jason's (Lunchbox's) world of clean racing, you won't regret the decision of joining!
I joined back in the clubs infancy many moons ago, and had a good number of years enjoying the close clean racing provided by the clubs well organised events.
Desperately trying to find the time to get myself back into the swing of things, so hopefully if you're reading this you'll be one of the new faces I'll get to know when I manage to get back to it!
Jim.

Hmmm I just checked.. almost 9 months since I joined this fine club! Was slow then, a biiiitt faster now. For sure though even cleaner driver than before.

@AdvocateUK many of us still trying to make sense of the Discord UX 🤓

Thanks for providing the link to the discord! I‘m trying to join, but have to wait for someone to accept my application to the server first. I understand and agree with all the terms mentioned there, but am wondering, what is meant by "witch hunting"?

Hi @Swooperinho

did you use the below link to join? if yes LunchBox will soon accept that.

And welcome to the world of clean racing :)

Yeah I used the link to join the discord. That’s where I read the "witch hunting" bit, I couldn’t really wrap my head around. But thanks for sharing the link!
you must see a screen like this.

Hi
I can see from the posts above that you are ok with slow drivers and as a slower driver I am really keen to improve with some clean racing.
Do you have spaces open at the moment?
I do have a concern about me making genuine errors that result in undesirable bumps, I have struggled online with other drivers braking early and me hitting them, how do you guys handle that kind of situation?
Thanks
Oli

That sounds perfect, I have applied to the discord channel. 👍
Great,
Just 1.5 hours to wait currently at work and can't access all the Discord functions from my mobile.
Do you have a headset set, and PS5?
Also what's your PSN Name?
