what are the best settings :) I've got a lot of down force on my rear tyres and I played with the gear ratio. But does anybody have the best setting 😈 😈 :rotfl:

Every car is different. There's no one best setup for all cars. You just need play with the settings and get a feel for what's good and what's not. Also gearing differs greatly by track also, so in the end your changing gearing for each track as well. The best setting is normally if your almost hitting the redline in the highest gear on the fastest part of the track. :shades:

WTF??? :gnasher: I'm sorry Kasper but I failed my mind reading class at school! Go ask Zerocool for some F1 settings as he's a bit of an F1 guru. Personally I don't touch 'em 🤬

ps. Kasper - Might make things easier in the future if you explain yourself properly before starting a new thread . :dizzy:

sorry man, I still need to figure out how I use this internet site. I'm a bit of a cludge with computers, but I am one of the best drivers, ughugh. Thanx for the reply.

Your question lacks detail. It would help if we knew if you are not getting enough top speed, or too much wheel spin, or you are losing power, such as the after shift rpm is going too far back. I don't have any F1 cars, so I'm only guessing, but I suppose using a tall final drive ratio and close gears might help, close meaning that the needle stays high in the rev band, perhaps 500 or 1000+ past the torque peak. Just guessing. Tall=numerically smaller. Short=numerically larger. 4.55 is shorter than 3.90, or so I've heard.

It's hard to say, my acceleration seems to slow. I changed the gear ratio for a higher torgue. But it doesn't seem to work. The ride height, is also the lowest possible but I'm not sure if that is the best solution. There is absolutly no wheel spin so the down force is more than enuogh I think. I'm just wondering if somebody has the fasted set up for laguna sega. There must be someone that has driven this course like 50million times and now knows the best set up. I'm getting there but it is far from perfect, I think. By the way the wordt car must definitly be the 12speed. I raced for like 4 hours to get this car and it sucks so bad  . F1 rules !!!!!!

As a contribution for the thread, sometimes you can't just change the gear ratios for a higher level (meaning a top final speed) because your car engine just don't support it.
You can set a gear ration of a F1 car as wide as you want but maybe you will stuck in the middle of the 6th gear and the engine won't have power to move up.

This problem happens and I had some headache with that running the (long) Test Course with a F1 against a GT-One and GT40 cars (that has more HPs). The F1 seems to fly when behind one of the opponents (vacum, is that the right word in english?) going faster than 250 Mph but then, when you get out of them, the speed starts dropping...

Yeah that's right, it does have a high top speed if you open the gear ratio, it's called the slip stream. Have you ever tried to put the f1 car in the slip stream of the escudo. Tried it man, the f1 car is so fast, it's increadible. is the viper concept fast and good ?

The Viper Concept is one of the cars I don't have yet... it seems bigger than the other Vipers what makes me think it could be slower but with a better handling (mainly in the rear).

If you have too much downforce on the rear you may have upset the balance and caused more drag than needed on the rear, and the front may have to little downforce, allowing for more lift. But if it has plenty of downforce on both ends, but too much, than you have weighed the car down.

Try this:

Incrementally, lower the downforce, starting from the maximum setting for both ends, by 5 until, fine tune from there.

After shift rpm is the ratio of the previous gear into the next gear times the rpm at shift.

Example: 1.65/ 2.45 x 6500= 4377.551

Try setting the gears so that the after shift rpm is 500 to 750 rpm past the torque peak, or at least 2000 to 2500 rpm before the horsepower peak, than having the next gears set up to have after shift rpms a little less each time; 425, 300, 250 (just examples). If the speed is not good enough, try a taller final drive ratio and having the last gear go back a bit more in rpm.

Also, try lifting the rear end a little to cause some understeer.

Kasper don't take it personally just trying to have a laugh :bomb:

I know some Brits online, what do you expect?

A Brit is like a :bunny:

Just read some of their news opinion press and auto journalists' work.

I imagine there are huge pullouts about how much SUVs suck.

A dandy group.

There's an old post about the car not handling too good stock. Use the search feature.
