Wow.

Did anyone catch the CES segment on TSS on Friday? They showed how the Windows Media Center crashed while Conan O'Brien was interviewing Bill Gates and they showed an Xbox getting a BSOD during a demo. :lol:

The way I read that article it makes Kikozo look like the wankers. Microsoft said that "XBox" would only play games (and copy CDs and play DVD movies with the remote). Which is an absolute fact (unless you modify it). However, the next XBox will be more of a media station with the ability to talk to networked computers and I presume run a web browser and do mail. Basically a full fledged computer at your television.

Back to the fact that their hardware crapped out while demoing it ... so? It's still in beta production. Steve Jobs had multiple computer problems while demoing new features for Tiger at this years Apple Expo thing.

Kikozo = bandwagoneer

I still think it's pretty stupid the way that Bill almost completely dismisses gaming and keeps pushing the "digital lifestyle" crap. He just goes "yeah, sure you could play games...I guess, but check this out!".

It strikes me as completely inconsistent, but maybe it's just because the main proponent to gaming in all of Microsoft (Ed Fries) has left the building.

And at least they presented the article with an iota of restraint. You ever read spong.com? They should be embarassed to call themselves journalists. :rolleyes:

Actually I've not read spong, that I remember. I think Bill is pushing "Digital Life Style" because that's the hot-topic right now. Steve Jobs was huge about digital life style earlier this week at the Apple Expo. Personally I think we need less digital and more Mother Nature, but whatever. And computers sure as hell aren't my life style. I just use them for entertainment when it's nasty outside. If you look at the people making electronic gadgets and producing the home desktops they're all talking how to make your digital life better. I think it started with that phone company (AT&T?) doing the M-Life campaign. Gag me with a pitch fork, the people they're selling to are complete dolts.

The thing to take from this thread is MARKETING IS POLLUTION.

Agreed.

Never listen to what a company has to say about itself or its products, it's all lies!
