Your not a blonde kelly :P and fire is the best :shades:

Oh and guys, if it means anything. It seems that in GTD and GTD2 my best performance was in the first race a 10th and a 3rd respectively, so maybe, no matter what the car/track, I should be a nominee for race 1. I know this sounds like arogence but I thought this over and I dont know but it seems like a good idea when I started typing this:embarrassed:

I never knew Zero was this ARROGANT!!!!!!!

:P Just kidding, Matt;)

Doesn't sound like a bad idea. But doesn't it depends on what race 1 will be? Maybe it will be a rally race.

Ok. Jean says you guys are right. It's any 2 wheels.

But let it be known that the official position of the GTP C&R mod is that it should be restricted to either both right wheels or both left wheels and no other combination thereof, unless unavoidable.

My views do not necessarily reflect the views of Jordan's.

Insert more legalese.

Hard to explain.

But it does not look natural to me.

I wish I'd known it was any 2 wheels earlier. Maybe now I'll have a shot at matching some times.

I think it would also allow a driver to take turns wider than they could under my way. In theory, one could kick a car into a slide and drift over large patches of grass. It may or may not be an advantage.

But, like I told Jean, his rules.

Finally, I just think things should look professional, like the cars are following proper lines. But that's me. I'm not looking to mandate it.

My theory is it relates to is how "In Control" that car is. I can't recall that particular replay, but was the car seemingly in control or was I in a wild slide when I put the two rear wheels off? I'll review it tonight to see what it looks like from my perspective. That way I can submit an honest evaluation.

Lotus:
With a left side or right side off, it's most likely related to trimming the edge of the track for a faster time. Legitimate strategy when apexing a corner (as you know). With two wheels off, it would relate to the back end of the car sliding out, or slipping off the end a rumble strip. Now if both front wheels are off the course, theres a 99.9% chance that a split second later, your rear tires will be following suit.

Now I'd like to take the two wheels clarification a bit further in how the GTP C&R mod counts the ripple/rumble strip. For instance, the end chicane on Apricot Hill. If I slide my car across the ripple strips, (well into the sand) I can clean another second off my time. However, this does mean that no tires are on the pavement (AKA the black bits). Can we also get a ruling from JMR on this? This would result in a fail on the TT.

I ran into this on a gentleman's league where one person was a second faster through this stretch than the rest of the field. He had adopted the strategy that as long as the ripple strip was part of the track, it was legal. After a thorough discussion, He reran his race before the deadline and submitted a clean run.

Now this also comes into play at Rome, where two corners can be cut heavily by riding right up on the ripple (no tires on the pavement) for a savings in time. Is there a place that someone can point me to for a written set of rules? And should we select a set to abide by if there are differences?

Sorry, my windbagging side taking over a bit here.

I regard rumble strips as part of the track. Sometimes there may be no offlines in a course, but there are barriers. In Rome, after the penultimate corner, there is some metal or something, riding that is ok.

Well.... I don't think I have any replays that have the front/back 2 wheels off, so it really makes no difference to me. But I do take advantage of the 2 side wheels being allowed off when taking a corner as we all know it can be very useful and effective .

As for apricot hill...... it is my belief that so long as you have 2 wheels on the rumble strip at all times then it is considered legal, as the cones are only there in TT6 why not take advantage of them rumble strips if it works for you ;) me personally take the rumbles and track not rumbles and sand I find the sand slows you down. Same for Rome ... yes you can use these curbs to your full advantage also, so long as you don't touch the barriers or drive on that little grassy bit then it's classed as legal , least that's what I'm led to believe :)

Also one other rule scenario........... CONES! what do we all abide to on the cones issue ? is it clean if you had 2 wheels on but still knocked a cone ? even though in a time trial you would fail for it  I've never submitted a time with a cone knocked over so I'm not sure, but I know you can still do a clean 2 wheel rule lap yet still manage to knock one over! take laguna for example, a recent debate at gt3times about the cones came to the conclusion that knocking over a cone deems your run as invalid and not clean, which is fair enough I suppose.

The cones are just stupid they shouldn't even be in the game except for the TT's

T - every heard of edit button? 3 posts in like a 6-8 minute span on the same topic...

But as Kelly said, 2 wheels is 2 wheels doesnt matter which 2 wheels as long as its 2 wheels.

Wait one minute here. So is what we are saying is that any 2 wheels that are off the track, no matter what combination of the wheels they are, is illegal?

I'm a bit confused all of a sudden.

Kelly - during the FGP at the GTF i was driving the F090/S and at Laguna I hit a cone in the Andretti Hairbin(turn 1), it was coming out of the corner, me and my late apex's but NoQuarter deemed it to be illegal(going by the TT rules more than likely) so I had to submit a conefree fast lap. And its not easy running 59.5's in the slowest f1 car at laguna(blows own horn)., unless your Jean or any fast German who can run 55's

It's simple... 2 Wheels on track at all times, rumble is considered track ;)

Just something I noticed after staring at Lotus' sig.

Zero, generally, unless people have a need to they won't look at edits in a post if they already read the original version. Plus, I don't know if I will get responses to a comment, which might be buried under 30 newer posts.
