UPDATE:Andriasang has now updated its story to add more detail. Producer Ryota Niitsuma said Capcom was planning on releasing download content for MVC3 following the game's March release. However, due to the earthquake and health issues, they changed this plan. The game we're getting in Ultimate has more content than was planned for the download content.

ORIGINAL STORY: Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was originally planned as downloadable content for Marvel vs. Capcom 3, according to a new report.

In an interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu (reported by Japanese website Game Jouhou, translated by Andriasang), Capcom said the decision to sell UMVC3 as a standalone budget game was made because of the March earthquake and tsunami disaster and staff health issues.

Meanwhile, the interview revealed that downloadable content will be released for UMVC3, including new costumes and new modes.

One new mode mentioned is unlimited Hyper Combos. Sounds like fun.

UMVC3, said to be 80 per cent complete, was announced last week at the San Diego Comic-Con. It features rebalanced gameplay and 12 new characters: Strider, Firebrand, Vergil, Frank West, Phoenix Wright and Nemesis for Capcom; Ghost Rider, Dr Strange, Nova, Rocket Raccoon, Hawkeye and Iron Fist for Marvel.

In a nutshell
Storm is a character with good rush down and decent keepaway, but may need an assist to be truly effective at either. Her normals are a bit odd and slow, but will reward those that learn them. Her Hail Storm super may be the best assist killing super in the game, so calling an assist against Storm is always a risk. Storm's other huge strength is in the chip damage department. Pair her with a meter building assist and you may not have to fight at all. If you want a character that has a large variety of ways to be effective depending on her team, Storm should fit right in.
Storm works best with a lot of hyper bar, so it is usually practical to put her 2nd or 3rd in a team. Another reason to let her bring up the rear is that as a DHC partner she can add the full screen and OTG hitting Hail Storm after almost any other hyper for lots of extra damage.
Her Whirlwind assist is great for fighting other zoners because it consumes most other beams and projectiles in the game and will clear a path for your own, or for you to chase after it as a rush down character in relative safety. It is also great against enemy rush down characters when your point is trying to zone because even on block it will shove them back across the screen, buying you some breathing room.
Good assists for Storm include projectiles if you intend to zone with Whirlwind and low hits such as Deadpool's Quick Work if you intend to force unblockable setups with her fast overheads.

Looks like a slim player

Just formed a new team, probably won't stay: Hsien (Senpu)/Deadpool (Katana-Rama)/Morrigan (Harmonizer)

Evo was the best year so far for me.
Daigo was actually out and got pee'd on.

For joining evo, I got a free copy of SSFIV:AE for PC.

The most hype is Daigo losing this year. The Daigo vs Valle match was nice.

That video was glorious...

Why weren't you on GTP mang?! I totally would have liked to discuss with you whilst watching EVO.

I realize that Poongko is just a really good-guessing gimmicky player.

I went to Evo on Thursday. I am going to write my review of this year's tournament soon. I was in the same pool at Kayo and BukTooth..

My Evo2k11 experience:
Thursday, July 28th 2011
------------------------
I got to the Rio and on my way to the check in. I saw the following : Alex Valle, Daigo "The Beast" Umehara, Kayo" the Trap" Police..etc etc. Though the long was a bit long, I got to my room shortly after some people doing casuals with their room open. With a small talk with my cousin, who told me that it was AE casuals. I went in to find Juicebox was sparring with a few cool Canadians. I did a few matches with Juicebox and he owned me. Later that night, I went to Insert Coin, the arcade/bar place that opened up just for EVO. Tons of cabinets though I got owned in 3S. I also saw Marn there. I left before the Evo horde came in.

I woke up early to get a TE from madcatz ( and probably now thinking of selling one of my SE's) and also to try out Tekken Tag 2, Skullgirls, UMVC3, TxSF and 3SO.
TT2:
Very smooth gameplay and alot of fun. I like how it reminded me of original TTT back in PS2. Though alot of people were trying out stuff for Tekken Zaibatsu.
Skullgirls:
They released a new chun-iike character named of Parasol. The game over all is a small cross of a vs series with SF controls. There is no infinites yet and you can create an assist with the characters. Alot of testers really want the game now. Also, I got a small drawing from the artist of Filia

UMVC3:
I didn't play it because of the other games but my cousin saw some new moves for some characters.
My match was at 2:00pm and I was in the same pool as Kayo and Bucktooth. Though I was eliminated early because I didn't know the Deejay match up very well and was salty throughout the day and night.
Saturday, July 30th, 2011:
---------------------------------
I was watching the semi-finals and still playing Skullgirls. Though I went to the 3SO panel and found out that Evo attendee's got a free copy of SFIV for the PC . Though seeing alot of Phoenix get beat was awesome..

Tons of Hype and I was really happy that Daigo was out of the tourney with 4th place. Looks like the Beast can't beat the machine and Viscant. Peacock plays like a Cable....Though during the MVC3 finals, everyone booed any player that used Phoenix.

Will always be, X factor seems to be watered down and the moves seems a bit more powerful.

I'm considering picking up Tekken again, but all this throwing breaking and all these thousands of wakeup options are entirely new to me.

Aren't you at like super negative frames when you do that?

Acutally it may not be wakeup options I'm talking about... but specifically the little features T6 has that T5 never did. I've only played T3, 4 and 5.

edit: I just found this this sounds extremely useful, but I can't think of what I can do with it...https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=215603

No when you finish picking characters and you're on the VS screen, there's the scrolling text of tips on the bottom.. there's a whole bunch of stuff they tell you that was not in Tekken 5.

I will play a quick session soon. But I know what you mean, and I think bound is one of them.

Now that I said I wouldn't get UMVC, I'm back with Deadpool/Wolvie/????

where ???? will most likely be Doom (Beam)...

but after recallinng UMVC getting new characters, I'm beginning to sit on the fence... though I really don't want to pay $40 for it.

New Tekken X SF news!

Well, you could sell MVC3 towards UMVC3. The Beam assist works well as a pressure but didn't we cover that rocks has a faster start up?

We did indeed :D:tup:

However, I chose beam because it'll reach full screen a lot sooner... I'm in the back firing my Uzis with Deadpool. Now I send some slow travelling rocks their way? Why not a fast high priority beam that does a ton of damage or chip on its own?

Unless you can get to the other side before the rocks hit, it is a good mix up.

I figured I could use a Teleport/Beam Assist mix up with Deadpool/Doom, and do a crossup/beam assist with Wolvie/Doom.

ALSO, I can use wolvie's OTG with Beam assist... and do an unblockable with a Wolvie jump-in and Quick Work Assist.

After looking at tekken 5 customization items on Tekken Zaibatsu, I really want to paly Tekken again, just for the perks  I wonder how much I can get a used copy for now.... for either 5 or 6.

Holy q3v54r39j3v222 epic last match!
